I can see it now. 200 years hence, a group of people coming accross a grave marker that says "Here Lies the Jerk With the Bridge Riddle". How sad. Even sadder is if they say, "So that's the guy!" LOL

Responses don't have to make sense. Geez, look at Hillary responses to Congress. I was looking for the Tower of Babel.

You hang in there Patuca! You might be a jerk but you're my kind of jerk. As long as they have a gas tank, you'll command respect! Any act up and I'll send you their address and a 6-pack of beer.

thank you mr roger. i shall have to visit you (you may not want me to??) on my way to mexico sometime. i go thru victoria on my way to McAllen and the border many times. i usually like to cross at Pharr or Reynosa crossing.

well we have arrived at the long awaited moment i see many eyes rolling :roll eyes::roll eyes: :roll eyes: :roll eyes: :roll eyes: :roll eyes: :roll eyes: ...at least 7 so here we go...

first i want to state the puzzle as was stated on page three so there is no misunderstanding:

a man came to a bridge that crossed a railroad track. he went across the bridge but yet went around the bridge at exactly the same time. how did he do it?

ARE YOU READY?

drum roll #1..................

drum roll #2 ...................

drum roll #3 oh sh$t the drummer dropped his drum stick. looks like his hand is hurt. we will have to check this out and get right back folks...maybe nothing serious.

lesson: don't be fearful and take profits too soon. let those profits run. The PT hasn't been reached i know, because of the drummer, but i will check him and and if all is ok we shall continue shortly.

don't go away now......

they are working on the drummer...looks like is he going to be ok..word is he will be good to go tonight ..shortly...hang in there....game is almost over...don't quit at the end..just when you gonna strike gold. control those emotions..no need for this...

lesson: never argue with the market. it is what it is. no need to get angry at the market...no need to trade in vengance (like some of you would probally like to ...well ...say a few unkind words to me about now..won't do you any good). :helloooo:

word is drummer is ok and will be out within 5 minutes...

lesson: little setbacks in the markets don't mean sh$t..with all those hft and algos out there you just have change your tactics to play the game...(for more info go to the thread on are hft's ruining trading).

ok we are good to go. word is he pulled a muscle but he will be ok and able to continue the drum roll. for his sake we will only make him do drum roll #3.

lesson to be learned: it was just a pullback. don't be scared out of your position as long a your orginal premise is correct. PA will tell you if your premise was correct. let the market talk to you. listen. observe. make money!

so......here we go again.....

start by stating the puzzle again:

"a man came to a bridge that crossed a railroad track. he went across the bridge but yet went around the bridge at exactly the same time. how did he do it?"

DRUM ROLL #3..........................and we have an answer

I DON"T KNOW HOW HE DID IT?????

The drummer's injuries are probably just cymballic. Unkind words?? Who would do that to a worthless lowlife prick like you? LOL Hey, skip the riddle and swing on by the trading room for some coffee, good jokes and some trading tools and tips I think you'll enjoy....I'm just over the Southern Pacific bridge...and on your way back from Mexico, bring me one of them snazzy pink flaminos, ok?

Thank you ladies and gentlemen for your unswerving devotion and hard work to get this puzzled solved. unfortunately, none of you solved it. but you sure tried! kudos to you! sometimes we traders think we know everything but we don't..do we???

never despise small things

thank you for putting up with my BS

thank you to those who humbled themselves and cried "uncle". some didn't..wouldn't or couldn't...some left in a huff...

i would say hope you enjoyed it but i doubt you did.

Are you F'ing joking??? That's the answer ?? He had a dog named yet??

Seriously? I feel so cheated.......... Then the wording of the riddle is wrong ..... is should read how did THEY do it........

This riddle sounds like something my 7 year old niece would make up.......

Of course no one guessed it in over 30 years because there is no way to guess it. The entire riddle is written as a singular. I am guessing you heard this in grade school or something.

You said we would be mad ....I am at myself ....at least all the other riddles made sense

the lesson: do not let some person on a forum push your buttons

Without a doubt the WORST riddle I have ever heard.

"a man came to a bridge that crossed a railroad track. he went across the bridge but yet went around the bridge at exactly the same time. how did he do it?"

the answer is:

His Dog was named YET

That's it?? His dog was named "YET"? So,YET "went" around the bridge...is that like my dog ROLEX (my "watch" dog) "went" around the backyard? Is that why the man went over the bridge, so as to not step in anything?

Ok, Patuca, now here's my riddle. You'll never get this one in a million years:

A man crosses a bridge over a friggin railroad track. You are watching him do so. As he crosses the bridge, he is walking away from you yet he is walking towards you SIMULTANEOUSLY. How does he do this?

Give up?

Here's the answer:

Before crossing the bridge the man takes a Viagra and an ExLax together.

What? you don't get it?

By doing so, it enabled him to be Coming and Going at the same time!

If you can make up a stupid riddle, so can I......I think we're even......

no the wording was correct. remember it is a riddle.. how did HE do it? refers to both the man and/or the dog. so...how did he (man) cross the bridge..walk? run?..drive? how did he (the dog) go around the bridge? walk? run??

any answer along this line would have been acceptable..the man's uncle was named YET. the mans co-worker was named YET. the mans son was named YET.

as to how he crossed it..run, walk, drive would have all been acceptable except if you picked YET as being the dog then of course he couldn't drive across. :missy:

Oh what the heck. The riddle wasn't the hoot...it was everybody's guesses. It was how funny it was to see how one guy with a really lame "riddle" led everybody around by their nose..for way too long. Then, one by one they all turned on him like Cujo yet he didn't give a flyin' flippo. Common guys, it was a fascinating process and it was funny...admit it and let's all have fun with the next one...ok.

    • Date: 10th March 2025.   SNP500 Hits a 6-Month Low: Trade Policy & Recession Fears Weigh on Market`s.   The SNP500 completes a 3-week decline and falls to its lowest price since September 2024. The price continues to remain under pressure from President Trump’s trade policy. In addition to this, investors are becoming increasingly cautious about a potential US recession. SNP500 - Trade Policy and The Federal Reserve’s View On The Economy The US Non-Farm Employment data on Friday read lower than what analysts were expecting. However, the data does not yet indicate a recession. Investors are increasingly showing a lower risk appetite and cautiousness due to Trump’s trade policy on China, Mexico and Canada. The NFP Change read 151,000, 8,000 lower than predictions and the Unemployment Rate rose to 4.1%. The poor price movement is more driven by comments from the US President. Yesterday evening on Fox News, the US President addressed concerns about a potential US recession, advising the economy will undergo ‘a period of transition.’ However, some see this as a subtle warning of a short economic downturn. Though the Chairman of the Federal Reserve is taking a different tone and looking to reassure the market.     Mr Jerome Powell advises the FOMC is not expecting or worried about a US recession. ‘The US economy remains in a strong position despite heightened uncertainty,’ Powell stated at a University of Chicago event. He also said that sentiment readings have been a reliable tool for predicting consumption growth in recent years. ‘There is no need to rush, we are in a good position to wait for more clarity,’ was his answer to questions about interest rates. On the one hand, the SNP500 may witness support from the positive comments from the Fed regarding the economy. He also clarified that certain economic indicators are not predicting a recession regardless of the lower figures. However, the comments on interest rates and keeping them unchanged for a longer period can pressure the price of the index. Will The SNP500 Continue Declining? The FedWatch tool indicated a 92% chance of a pause in this month’s Fed Rate Decision, but the figure has risen to 97%. If the possibility of a rate cut continues to be unlikely in the near future, the SNP500 may continue to remain under pressure. Currently, the VIX, an index used as an indication of risk, is trading more than 4.00% higher. For this reason, the VIX continues to indicate a poor performance in the short-term. Asian and European indices are trading lower this morning as are US indices. As a result, the performance of the global stock market shows a ‘risk off’ sentiment. SNP500 - Technical Analysis The price of the SNP500 is currently trading 0.73% lower and gains bearish momentum as the European market opens. In the 2-hour timeframe, the price is trading below the main Moving Averages and VWAP. The index also remains within the ‘sell’ zone of the RSI and MACD. On the 3-minute chart, the price remains below the 200-bar SMA and sell signals may continue to materialize for as long as the price remains below this level.     Key Takeaways: The SNP500 has declined for three consecutive weeks, hitting its lowest level since September 2024. The main cause of pressure is from Trump’s trade policies and recession concerns. Weaker-than-expected US employment data raised caution. However, the Fed reassured markets, stating there is no imminent recession and no rush to adjust interest rates. The FedWatch tool now shows a 97% chance of a rate pause, reducing hopes for near-term cuts. Technical indicators suggest continued bearish momentum, with the index trading below key moving averages and remaining in the sell zone on RSI. Always trade with strict risk management.
