Comparing Obama to Hitler just shows how deranged some people are.

It is funny to me how they compare Hitler, a NAZI, to someone, Obama, who is generally considered to be a Socialist.

It is also funny to me how they criticize him for pushing us toward socialism, yet they want and use all the benefits that he is providing.

This picture demonstrates just how moronic pro gun folk are.

It makes perfect sense why the US President needs such security guards, yet some silly hicks think they are somehow in the same predicament as the US President with nut jobs wanting to kill them? This argument doesnt display any hypocrisy, just stupidity.

eeeer ok, I think the rest of the world has moved on a bit now though. And besides, it's another dead argument. One reason is because this statement could be interpreted by some wacko in the following ways:

1. go shoot the president if you dont like his policies

2. go march into the county traffic wardens office and shoot everyone to bits for giving me that bogus parking ticket.

3. Hey, my old school was a government body and they really fucked me up, and I'm such a failure, I'm gunna shoot everyone in there because I think they are a tyranny and it's all their fault'.

4. I've just been sacked by the tyranny of a fire department thats controlled by local government, so I'm gunna make a false call and shoot up everyone who comes to answer that call.

Another reason it's moronic is that the government have far better ways of controlling you now than with force of a gun - namely the media and tax policy.

Only a complete dumbass with a very low IQ could make assertions like those. I use to think traders had brains with analytical capabilities.

Unfortunately there are lot of dumbass' in the world. Only a dipshit would suggest that giving a dumbass a gun is the way forward.

I would have assumed anyone with any common sense or analytical ability could figure that one out; trader, dumbass or dipshit.

And please dont retort with 'it's unfair to the non-dumbass who wants to carry a gun', because only a dumbass would want a gun.

And dont give me any 'personal freedom' shit either. Lets face facts: Half of Americans cant even feed themselves properly without getting overweight and obese. If someone cant even eat responsibly and look after themselves, I dont think giving them a gun is the way forward do you?

Perhaps gun ownership if it must exist, should only be allowed if the individual:

Isn't poor (ie less likely to rob someone or have silly ideas)

Has above average IQ

Is able to eat a sensible diet and prove they are capable of looking after themselves.

Is able to point out various countries and cities on a map.

Only then, could they be trusted. But then again, I guess this would exclude 90% of people from gun ownership. Objective achieved!!

:)

The Adam Lanza kid had an IQ that was off the charts

He wasn't poor

He seemed to be lean and able to eat a balanced diet.

He attended college at 16. Likely to be able to point out countries and cities.

Unfortunately, he would be able to have a gun based on your criteria.

I do like the spirit of your idea.

Why not just ban guns? It's much simpler. If some nut job wants to kill a load of people, he will IF he has a gun. With your idea, we'll end up with a load of dead cops in a shoot out - especially if he has an assault riffle. Great thinking!

Besides, would you really want your kids going to a school with armed guards everywhere - permanently reminded of the horrors of this world?

C'mon folks, it's not rocket science. Look at Europe and the civilised world. People arent allowed to carry guns and there is next to zero gun crime. The murder rate is also much lower. It doesnt take Einstein to see the correlation. Remember that across the civilised world, there are all types of government - both left and right wing, Principalities, Kingdoms, Republics, etc, so you cant draw politics or any other socio-economic circumstance in to what is so bleeding obvious to a four year old!! Geddit?

um.. because gun bans won't stop him from getting a gun..something you can't seem to get into your peckerhead brain.

“another dead argument” TheDude

I love crowds. How many of us serial posters in this thread have noticed … ?

that the “logic” of most arguments of the To Arm posters only holds together well if you believe in ‘guns rights’ a priori ?

that the “logic” of most arguments of the To Disarm posters only holds together well if you believe in ‘gun bans’ a priori ?

(that I'm using the word :logic: quite loosely would be an understatement ;))

like

“please dont retort with 'it's unfair to the non-dumbass who wants to carry a gun', because only a dumbass would want a gun.”

… I guess this would exclude 90% of people from gun ownership. Objective achieved!!"

This thread got started and is sustained by reactions to the acts of a criminally insane person… not a dumbass. Dude, be careful who you’re calling dumbasses. It’s “dumbasses” who are sensation based enough to want to be able to react directly in such situations … the more cerebral thinking types prefer waiting for the “dumbasses’” to show up and take care of it.

Re: recruiting dumbasses (and whowouldwanttorecruitsdumbasses btw?)

Government Pushes Propaganda Through Video Games | Zero Hedge

Gov't wants control of the dumbasses... dumbass 'fat' is leverage.

Do you know what D. Umas actually said ? He said

“…better to have a gun and not be able to get to it, than not have one and … ”

So until we get this ‘dumbass cleansing’ thing worked out, :logic: like

Law and good policy prevents insanity and crimes of insanity...

so…

outlaw guns...

only holds together if you believe in gun control a priori

    • Date: 2nd April 2025.   Market on Edge: Tariff Announcement and Volatility Ahead!   The US economic and employment data continues to deteriorate with the job vacancies figures dropping to a 5-month low. In addition to this, the IMS Manufacturing PMI also fell below expectations. However, both the US Dollar and Gold declined simultaneously following the release of the two figures, an uncommon occurrence in the market. Traders expect a key factor to be today’s ‘liberation day’ where the US will impose tariffs on imports. USDJPY - Traders Await Tariff Confirmation! Traders looking to determine how the USDJPY will look today will find it difficult to determine until the US confirms its tariff plan. Today is the day when Trump previously stated he would finalize and announce his tariff plan. The administration has not yet released the policy, but investors expect it to be the most expansionary in a century. President Trump is due to speak at 20:00 GMT. On HFM's Calendar the speech is stated as "US Liberation Day Tariff Announcement". Currently, analysts are expecting Trump’s Tariff Plan to impose tariffs on the EU, chips and pharmaceuticals later today as well as reciprocal tariffs. Economists have a good idea of how these tariffs may take effect, but reciprocal tariffs are still unspecified. In addition to this, 25% tariffs on the car industry will start tomorrow. The tariffs on the foreign cars industry are a factor which will particularly impact Japan. Although, traders should note that this is what is expected and is not yet finalised. Last week, President Trump stated that he would implement retaliatory tariffs but allow exemptions for certain US trade partners. Treasury Secretary Mr Bessent and National Economic Council Director Mr Hassett suggested that the restrictions would primarily target 15 countries responsible for the bulk of the US trade deficit. However, yesterday, Trump contradicted these statements, asserting that additional duties would be imposed on any country that has implemented similar measures against US products. The day’s volatility will depend on which route the US administration takes. The harshness of the policy will influence both the Japanese Yen as well as the US Dollar.   USDJPY 5-Minute Chart   US Economic and Employment Data The JOLT Job Vacancies figure fell below expectations and is lower than the previous month’s figure. The JOLT Job Vacancies read 7.57 million whereas the average of the past 6 months is 7.78 million. The ISM Manufacturing Index also fell below the key level of 50.00 and was 5 points lower than what analysts were expecting. The data is negative for the US Dollar, particularly as the latest release applies more pressure on the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates. However, this is unlikely to happen if the trade policy ignites higher and stickier inflation. In the Bank of Japan’s Governor's latest speech, Mr Ueda said that the tariffs are likely to trigger higher inflation. USDJPY Technical Analysis Currently, the Japanese Yen Index is the worst performing of the day while the US Dollar Index is more or less unchanged. However, this is something traders will continue to monitor as the EU session starts. In the 2-hour timeframe, the USDJPY is trading at the neutral level below the 75-bar EMA and 100-bar SMA. The RSI and MACD is also at the neutral level meaning traders should be open to price movements in either direction. On the smaller timeframes, such as the 5-minute timeframe, there is a slight bias towards a bullish outcome. However, this is only likely if the latest bearish swing does not drop below the 200-Bar SMA.     The key resistant level can be seen at 150.262 and the support level at 149.115. Breakout levels are at 149.988 and 149.674. Key Takeaway Points: Job vacancies hit a five-month low, and the ISM Manufacturing PMI missed expectations, adding pressure on the Federal Reserve regarding interest rate decisions. Traders await confirmation on Trump’s tariff policy, which is expected to impact the EU, chips, pharmaceuticals, and foreign car industries. The severity of the tariffs will influence both the JPY and the USD, with traders waiting for final policy details. The Japanese Yen Index is the worst index of the day while the US Dollar Index is unchanged. Always trade with strict risk management.
