Intraday Spot Silver Prices

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I wonder if you can help me.

I'm looking for a source of historical data for 1 min intraday spot silver prices. Ideally prices I can match to Kitco spot prices which they tell me are derived from "New York Spot Market and the CME Globex market."

There seem to be numerous sources of data for shares and currency exchange rates. If found a few sources of commodities futures however these don't provide a direct comparison as far as I could see.

I did find one potential source. INO.com. However after downloading their data I noticed the historical values for a given date and time were changing from one day to the next and I couldn't get them to explain why. It also seemed to miss the wide swings shown on the Kitco graphs. I appreciate there will be differences in the way spot price is calculated depending on the source. However these were 20 to 30 point differences. I concluded there might be some averaging over time going on.

My aim is to get the data into an excel sheet to analyse mathematically.

I basically tend to think you wont find this type of info for free...maybe yahoo, but if you have a trade account you should be able to export daily data from your broker...other than that I guess you need to check with data vendors and buy a feed

Hi,

Thanks for coming back so quickly.

I don't mind paying for data, (within limits) as long as it's reliable. Indeed the ino data wasn't free.

I just can't find spot silver on the data providers I've looked at so far. I wonder if I'm searching with the wrong keywords. I know lot's of people use Yahoo, however I didn't see historical minute data and another site says they don't do it.

I can't be the 1st person to need intraday spot prices for commodities. Someone (other than ino) must be selling this.

Once again, many thanks for responding.

    • Here’s something few are talking about: The Chinese are printing money like it's going out of style. Not that you'd hear about it in the mainstream news. But Bitcoin knows.   Bitcoin always knows.   Here’s the thing…   When the Chinese government prints money to paper over the cracks, their smart money doesn't sit around waiting to get devalued.   It usually flows into three things: Bitcoin, gold, and dollars.   After years of being beaten down, gold's having one of its best years in decades. But here's the secret -- whatever gold does, Bitcoin's going to do it bigger.   Much bigger.   Since last November, when China started their printing spree, Bitcoin's been moving in near-perfect correlation with the People's Bank of China's balance sheet. Over 80% correlation, maybe even 90%.   Again, few are talking about it.   But here's why this matters right now: This could be the beginning of a huge breakout in the crypto markets.   Bitcoin broke above its July high, and historically, that's led to new all-time highs over 90% of the time. The only times it failed? COVID and the 2022 bear market.   That's it.” – Chris Campbell   Profits from free accurate cryptos signals: https://www.predictmag.com/
