As long as we are considering Trend Day potential (ACH) the IBH might be another area to consider for continuation trades - risk though might be at the moment to below 1406 area..so not leaning that way unless a lot of things would align in that area...not a recommendation since I have proven that I am clueless

N: We posted htese together... Great minds think alike... :helloooo:

As far as what is "above," here's a tpo profile of a portion of spx. If the cash can trade to 1418, it's really quite bullish IMO; in other words, the market should not go much past 1413. Testing this area of high volume here should really be sufficient, and the longer we hang out here the more bullish it is. A quicker rejection down would be the ideal scenario.

I have a CHVN @ 13.25 that migh be an obstacle but it has disappeared off my 405m but it probably aligns with your SPY TPO chart

Got my 1414.50 for my last scale...ahead of 1415.25 and CLVN 1416.50... Depending on how we develop if we get rotation to a workable level I will do continuation trades as prev posted BUT..currently this is a one-way trend day... :missy:

We have a interday lvn currebntly @ 12.50 & depending on structure stops could be in the 10.75 area as of right now... but given some time possibly the paper will move up and the risk side will go down for a continuation/rotation long... :2c:

Thanks Tom -- regarding the nvpoc, I know it has not been touched in RTH, but the overnight session following that day, it tested, and has not come back since then. Do you find that overnight test of any significance?

I haven't sorted that out...I tend to give more creadence to RTH... I wish I knew statistically how valid GBX touches are compared to RTH... I still think there are enough traders who only look at RTH for those levels... and GBX are less...

Looks like we're hanging around for another VPOC shift.

This is really a screamer today... maybe we will get some rotation over lunch after a test of current hod..

BTW..I can't imagine why someone would short here eventhough it is where one could short.. IMHO for a rotation..problem on a rotation is everyone (?) including me is waiting to be a buyer and one never knows where buyes might come for it... :2c:

VPOC shifted while i was doing pretty picture

That 12.50 still looks like good support but we might not rotate that far.. stops under 1414.75 -1414.00 area... based on me eyeing the 15m bars.. first test & rotation will be the best imho... of course subject to alignment.

Suprised they can't get any more rotation out of this... I had a mini buy signal against the 14.75 area but they haven't even gottwen to the closest stops yet, just under 14.75 so there is nothing to do... no room and loads of stops just down below...

At least to my way of seeing it... you got to get some longs out by taking some close stops and also have enough room for some rotation so you can get a scale out and then go for further extension but this has no room.. IMHO..

Hey guys.. still here and sad to say hung onto the short. Added some at 16.50 on the attempt to break it, and got out at 15.25 for a loss of about 1.5 points per contract. Not good trading. I was doing my taxes today while sitting here so I have been a bit absent from the screen.

I'm definitely lurking today -- I'm in Josh's camp with my mind thinking of something else but still wanting to be involved with the Market. That's a sure sign that I should have gotten out 4 hours ago. :)

Interested to see how the day will end as we approach the final hour.

Yeah, it happens sometimes. It shouldn't but it does. You'll look over the market later(if you haven't already) and see all these obvious reasons to have not stayed in. ES in this mode is not especially forgiving. However you look at it, you are generally trading well. So keep that in mind when you trade tomorrow. Not that I need to say any of this of course. Statisically, days like these are inevitable.

Well, I had a long fire off at 1:10ish cst against 14.75 but that's not my kind of trade location for reasons I already posted... In addition..I have nothing but htin air up here and not too many reference points to target... 1419.50 ish, 1423.00 ish and 1424.75...

One of the things that I note is that the average big move these days is 20pts so we are basically in the ballpark...but I am clueless since we all know we don't know... :2c:

I am none too keen on these days myself Tom. I tend to lose myself in the lack of rhythm and end up being caught out when a ton of interest comes in. That's what I am looking for now. A break in the monotony to give me a chance to roll the dice one last time today. Not been bad to me so I have no need to force it either.

The main goal of this thread is to show what Power Trades is and how it works in different markets. We will show some patterns on the ES and NQ futures, as well as discuss possible improvements to this functionality.
      What is Power Trades?
Ok, first we will consider what the Power Trades is and how it finds zones.
Power Trades shows the zones with the execution of a large number of orders in a very short time, which will affect the price change with a high probability.
Here are a few examples of how it looks like

      How it finds zones?
There is a continuous process of placing, changing and executing orders in the market. All this affects the price change and the expectations of traders regarding the future price.
When a large order appears at a certain level, the price is more likely to come to this order and it will be executed because the market is always looking for levels with liquidity. This already applies to the order flow and the mechanics of orders matching, so we will omit the principles on which the orders are matched.
It is only important to understand that "abnormal events" occur in the market at certain times. Execution of a significant volume of orders in a very short time is one of such events.
The Power Trades Scanner has several important settings that directly affect the results:

Total Volume — the minimum value of the volume that should be traded during the specified time interval
Time Interval, sec — the time over which the Total Volume should be traded
Basis Volume Interval, sec — this parameter shows how much % took the traded volume in the total volume for the specified time.
Zone Height, ticks — this parameter will show only those zones where the height is less than or equal to the specified value (in ticks).
Level2 level count — the number of levels that are involved in the calculation of Imbalance and the Level 2 Ratio column in the table of results.
Filter by Delta,% — the parameter will show zones that have a delta value greater than or equal to that specified in the setting. The value must be specified by the module, so the table will show both positive and negative delta values. We recommend paying attention to the zones with the delta above 50% (taking into account the specifics of each trading instrument).
For example, let's set the Total Volume of 2000 contracts and Time Interval in 3 seconds on the E-mini SP500 futures. This means that the scan will be based on the available history and will show on the chart only those zones that have such a volume for the specified time.

Additionally, it is worth to set a delta value to filter out the zones with one-side trades. The more delta value, the high probability that the price will reverse.

So, as a starting point about this scanner, I think this information will be enough

      Hi everyone,
This is my maiden analysis using volume profile - so please don't hesitate to share your feedback.
As per the attached analysis, I think that SPY is primed for a short - for many reasons
      - Multiple strong rejection of long positions exist at Resistance R1 and R2 : seems like sellers defending their positions
      - Very strong short volume seen at R2 : further signifying sellers who are ready at that level
However, once the price reaches Support S1, there seems to be a strong buying sentiment which has rejected previous shorts. You can see trading ranges & pullbacks to S1 where buyers and sellers seem to agree on a price range, often leading to a buyer dominance.
      What do you think?
