Does Anyone Have Any Good ES Emini Trading System Suggestions?

Recommended Posts

I am a fairly new trader (2 years) and have worked through all of the psychological barriers that cause you not trade your system properly. Obviously the self work part will never end, but I am to the point where I can trade a system flawlessly without breaking the rules. Problem is I dont think the systems I am trading are that good. Just wondering if anyone had any system suggestions for me.

Thanks,

you have to "understand" your system first...

to see if it is a good fit to the market you are trading

and a good compliment to your trading style.

to do that... you have to understand your market.

otherwise it is GIGO.

Might want to check Welcome To Futures Truth Magazine of course do your own due diligence....past performance is no guarantee of.... etc. There are other similar sites too. I seem to remember a thread where someone mentioned they had just bought a system they where happy with (surprisingly). Also a while back waveslider offered to swap a simple profitable system for anything similar.

I look for cause and effect. But that gets very tricky. For example, let's say that 100% of all traders used the signal of moving average lines starting to converge. Well, . . . if enough people are trading the same strategy, maybe it will move the market.

So did the Moving Average Convergence/Divergence cause the price to change? Or did the market cause the Moving Averages to Converge/Diverge? They might influence each other. There may be an indirect cause and effect of plot lines on the price, but I don't think that plot lines directly effect the market. Ultimately, it's about how profitable companies are, how good the economy is, what the news was, how much certainty there is, and other factors. Those are the real causes.

Hi Brent,

My best advice to you is this:

1. Read my thread "What Really Works for Technical Traders" in the TA forum. In that thread I discuss a trading method which works very well in the euro, natural gas, soybeans,...

2. Quit trading the ES. Way too choppy and spends too much time testing and too little time trending. Tough market to figure out (I traded it full time for 2 years, over 10 years ago, and even though I made money, I wised up and moved to other markets that are MUCH more lucrative on a regular basis. (How about getting 8:1 on your risk capital week in, week out?)

I cannot guarantee your success but I can surely point you in the right direction...

Phantom

Have you read my thread? I even show charts of the markets I trade along with actual trading examples.

Enjoy!

I learned by studying charts both during and after hours, looking for similarities and ways to limit my risk. Attacking the markets from the losing side the winners will take care of themselves.
