There is a new user who is flooding the forum with posts. Putting them on ignore doesn't help because their posts are still returned by "Latest Posts" and "Today's Posts".

Can the "Latest Posts" and "Today's Posts" be made to remove posts if made by users on your ignore list?

I will look into this ... but who is this new user you are referring to that is spamming?

thx

maybe a section for vendors-services might cut some of the useless stuff

I was thinking the exact same thing. This way, the vendors can get their own threads (and possible creativity can come out of it), but not take away from the rest of the forum..Maybe the vendor forum can have specific rules on number of posts per day, and perhaps the posts there only count as 1/2 or 1/4 of a regular post?

The post count is quite high for a signature link (150 or something like that), so hence the increase of fake posts to get the higher privileges.

As a solution to the problem described in the posts above, why not just put a cap on the number of posts that any user can make in a day? No sane person is going to be making more than, say, half a dozen good quality posts per day. You could make some more active threads such as 'daytrading the e-minis' an exception, and also anyone moderating.

Hey, Hmm I don't see it hovering - can you take a screenshot? Which browser are you using?

(I suspect you are referring to the facebook likes etc?)

Can the "Likes" tab/button be moved? Currently it is covering the row of page numbers at the top of the page making it impossible to flip back without going to the bottom of the page.

suggestion: The buttons next to "last poster" should link to the latest unread post in that thread, not the last post of the thread. This is more practical, as a user interested in that thread would want to pick up where he last left off.

Actually the blue square to the left of the thread title (which doesn't apply to stickies) is supposed to do that, and the button you're talking about takes you to the last post, i.e., the post made by the person next to whom the button is placed.

At least, that's the way it's supposed to work. Doesn't always.

yes, for me it doesn't look like it works ever. if you could show me a screenshot of where this button is, that would be fantastic.

2 things

1) I wanted to know where I can find the short url version of some of my threads (or any thread).

For example:

http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/showthread.php?p=157574

vs

http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/forex-trading-laboratory/13909-implementing-successful-systems-part-1-anatomy.html

and

http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/showthread.php?p=160470

vs

http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/automated-trading/14249-why-automation-next-logical-step-system.html

I think i might have figured it out, but i need to be sure.

2) I tried submitting a new thread under the support forum, but I get a comment that i do not have sufficient permissions to do this. i thought it was open to all who wanted support.

The number after the "p=" is the post identity that can be found at the end of the long url when hovering over the post number. For example hovering over #40 (your post above) gives

http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/support-center/9379-suggestions-5.html#post174771

so the short url would be

http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/showthread.php?p=174771

Incidentally, it's been a month now. Any progress on getting this fixed? Or moved? Or eliminated?

.

Hi Db ... we are not experiencing this problem with our Firefox installations. We tested on version 8, 12, and now 19. Can I ask if you are using the latest version?

thx

I never claimed to be an SEO expert, but my MS Edge browser is showing TL's url as unsecure. For me, it doesn't affect use of this site but doesn't it reduce web traffic?
