Hi guys,

I am new to this forum. My interest in finance started early and casually met a person involved into metal hedging. Then I started studying by myself technical analysis since 2010. Started trading live, lost money, paper trading, made some profit, lost it and so on. Now am I planning a new Trading System and we will see.

Thanks

I'm retired. Have a normal portfolio, which is fine. But, it takes ... so ... loooonnnng.

Tried a little swing trading a few years back (before retirement.) Now that my time is my own, I want to get back into it.

I would consider myself a total noob. This time I need to start from scratch and actually learn what I'm supposed to be doing. Those pictures with all the squiggly lines and numbers and such probably mean something I should know.

So, that's what I will endeavor to do. I intend to study using my current portfolio and then transfer the influx of that knowledge to my online portfolio and not lose my shirt or my pants or my cats or my pigs or my dog.

Hi Jordy

Might I recommend a Twitter account if you do not currently have one. It is a great place to connect with tons of traders and people are always sharing their ideas. I myself use Twitter to not only see other traders ideas but also to share my own in real time.

You can add me @eatsleeptrade7

Twitter has surprisingly become one of my greatest tools. I look forward to sharing ideas with you.

Hi Andrew

Paper trading is a great place to start and honestly a must for beginners. Unfortunately paper trading tends to be incredibly easier than real trading for a couple of reasons

1. There's no emotional connection to paper like there is with real money. It's very easy to hold losing positions with out having much worry. And decisions tend to be non stressful unlike when your losing real $$

2. Depending on what paper trading program your using it may not incorporate realistic prices during purchases and is much easier to get filled. There are no worries about bid / ask spread and available volume if shares are actually being traded.

Just remember to start small and manage risk when starting with real $$

Hello

I am new to this, but have been playing with paper money($25,000) on TOS for 3 months..So when I use real money it should all be the same... right?.:roll eyes:

Andrew..Thanks for having me.

Hello,

I have always been interested in the idea of trading for profit, however I do not know where or how to start. Lets say my current knowledge is that of a blank slate, however I am very teachable. In short I would love some guidance from the very first step to the very last in order to really give me the best shot at trading successfully.

Thank you for your time and your support,

Todd E

Hi,

I have been trading for a short term (~1 year), and at some point I made the mistake of blowing up my account. I need to reform my method and need to start learning again. I figure a good point would be with wyckoff's method and I'm also interested in learning Dalton's market profile. Hoping to learn and share with other people on this board :). I have a serious passion for trading but am currently a masters student. Nice to meet you all ;)

John

    • Date: 25th November 2024. New Secretary Cheers Markets; Trump Trade Eased. Asia & European Sessions:   Equities and Treasuries rise, as markets view Donald Trump’s choice of Scott Bessent for Treasury Secretary as a stabilizing decision for the US economy and markets. Bessent: Head of macro hedge fund Key Square Group, supports Trump’s tax and tariff policies but gradually. He is expected to focus on economic and market stability rather than political gains. His nomination alleviates concerns over protectionist policies that could escalate inflation, trade tensions, and market volatility. Asian stocks rose, driven by gains in Japan, South Korea, and Australia. Chinese equities fail to follow regional trends, presenting investors’ continued disappointment by the lack of strong fiscal measures to boost the economy. The PBOC keeps policy loan rates unchanged after the September cut. US futures also see slight increases. 10-year Treasury yields fall by 5 basis points to 4.35%. Nvidia dropped 3.2%, affected by its high valuation and influence on broader market trends. Intuit fell 5.7% after a disappointing earnings forecast. Meta Platforms declined 0.7% following the Supreme Court’s decision to allow a class action lawsuit over the Cambridge Analytica scandal. Key events this week: Japan’s CPI, as the BOJ signals a possible policy change at December’s meeting. RBNZ expected to cut its key rate on Wednesday. CPI & GDP from Europe will be released. Traders will focus on the Fed’s November meeting minutes, along with consumer confidence and personal consumption expenditure data, to assess potential rate cuts next year. Financial Markets Performance: The US Dollar declines as US Treasuries climb. Bitcoin recovers from a weekend drop, hovering around 98,000, having more than doubled in value this year. Analysts suggest consolidation around the 100,000 level before any potential breakthrough. EURUSD recovers slightly to 1.0463 from 1.0320 lows. Oil prices drop after the largest weekly increase in nearly two months, with ongoing geopolitical risks in Ukraine and the Middle East. UKOIL fell below $75 a barrel, while USOILis at $70.35. Iran announced plans to boost its nuclear fuel-making capacity after being censured by the UN, increasing the potential for sanctions under Trump’s administration. Israel’s ambassador to the US indicated a potential cease-fire deal with Hezbollah, which could ease concerns about Middle Eastern oil production, a region supplying about a third of the world’s oil. Russia’s war in Ukraine escalated with longer-range missile use, raising concerns about potential disruptions to crude flows. Citigroup and JPMorgan predict that OPEC may delay a planned increase in production for the third time during their meeting this weekend. Gold falls to $2667.45 after its largest rise in 20 months last week.Swaps traders see a less-than-even chance the central bank will cut rates next month.
