Can't Make Money After 11:00!

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone,

I primarily day trade options

I'm pretty good at finding deals in the morning to trade, but after 11:00 I'm usually stuck for the day

I usually sell before 11:00

I want to know how to make money after 11:00

I don't like the fact I'm staring at charts all day without knowing the proper action to take

Does anyone know of a book that explains in detail how to make good trades later in the day? What I need to look for?

Thanks in Advance

Easy... do exactly the opposite!

If you see buy signal you sell and if you se sell signal you buy!

That is what I do in trading gold and silver.

Allmost all signals between 11 and 13h are false!

What kind of option trades you make in the morning?

Selling what exactly? Calls, puts? In-, at- or out-of-the-money?

I mean how can you day trade options if they're some kind of mid-range deals...

Hi Youngsequan,

May I suggest just buying/selling more contracts per trade in the A.M. market...just a thought.

Yes, good question. Maybe that's the reason why you can't trade after 11:00

Hello Youngsequan (mms),

You are a perfect candidate for Market Profile

By 11am the bell curve will be formed and you can use the info to trade, maybe.

Go and read up about it. Theres lots of info available

But remember its NOT a trading system.

Its very useful background knowledge of where the markets are headed

Brooks warns of midday consolidation

Joe Ross doesnt trade between 11.30 and 2.30. He writes trading courses- much easier.

Please dont listen to filip who suggests trading the opposite of the signal. That sort of statement needs testing, unless he sends us his trading profit & loss account.

do you know how many people wish they could finish trading by 11am?

no suggestion, but reiteration of others' observations: nothing wrong with specializing in, being adapted to, a time of day. I'd stick to the sweet spot, think about swinging a bigger bat - compensating for the "uncompensated afternoons", as well as the morning missed opportunities.....

What is Market Profile?

Hello Youngsequan,

I was hoping to see a few replys to your question. Nothing!!

So heres my version.

Do you have PRICE ON VOLUME on your charts.

Thats when volume appears on the left hand side of your chart,NOT at the bottom. Turn it on. It should look like a bell curve. Now the fattest part of this bell curve is called BALANCE

Thats where most of the action takes place.

Its also called VALUE. Both the buyers and the sellers agree the price is fair.

Would you buy/ sell at BALANCE / VALUE?

Off course not.

The price ALWAYS moves back to BALANCE/ VALUE

At 11am every day , where is this BALANCE/ VALUE?

Heres the trade.

Buy/ sell outside BALANCE/ VALUE

It always moves back

Kind regards

bobcollett

yes. regression to mean happens. but the obverse also must happen - progression from mean. 6 of one is much like a half dozen of the other. perhaps trade both. and on the days when progression blows right thru the old extreme, rejoice (if you are aboard)....
