Buy Above 200 EMA

Hi im writing a strategy and one of the values will be to only buy above the 200ema among other things..

 

I have tried this but it does not work what is the code please?

 

 

AvgExp200 = XAverage( close, 200 ) ;

 

if close > AvgExp200 then Buy 3 contracts next bar at market;

 

 

but it still buying below AND above the 200 ema?

Hi,

 

Close can be above 200 MA, for long time.

 

You need a condition that will state only one situation.

 

Like:

 

If close crosses above AvgExp200 then buy 3 contracts next bar at market;

 

Also, check other values you have, because even with this code, it should not buy below MA.

What time frame you use?

condition1= c[1]<xaverage(c, 200)[2] and c>xaverage(c, 200)[1];

 

if condition1 then buy next bar at market;

 

if barssinceentry>=60 then setexitonclose;
