Value Chart Indicator in OEC Trader

Recommended Posts

daedalus uses the Value Chart in his trading and a few of his posts demonstrate this (example and example). In my search for improving exits, I put the Value Chart (VC) on my Open ECry charts. Attached is the code and screenshots of how I plot it.

Thanks to BluRay for his help as always! The best coder on TL!

MAIN WINDOW SETTINGS I USE:

attachment.php?attachmentid=15339&stc=1&d=1258389348

WHEN YOU CLICK ON COLLECTION, SETTINGS I USE:

attachment.php?attachmentid=15340&stc=1&d=1258389406

HOW IT SHOULD PLOT:

attachment.php?attachmentid=15341&stc=1&d=1258389451

Code is attached in a txt doc. Open it up, copy and paste into OEC trader. Here's how to do that if you don't know:

1) Right click on chart > Indicators > Show Library

2) Click top left > Easy Language Indicator

3) Delete what is there

4) Paste code

5) Right click compile

6) Save and should be ready for use

Again, thanks to daedalus & BluRay for their help.

If you want an idea of how to use this in your trading (entry and/or exit), daedalus describes it well in this post.

Personally I am testing out on timing my exits better.

Here's what I showed in a p/l post:

attachment.php?attachmentid=15354&stc=1&d=1258414697

Here I was long into a swift move up grabbing a bunch of stops along the way which then pushed the VC into the +8 extreme. After that was penetrated I then watched the following prints and if a HH was not made, I flattened which I did in this example. Had a HH printed then I would have repeated the process.
