Standard deviations & Odds

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys

I am trying to track down some number (odds) on what changes prices have of moving to certain given deviations.

I have seen something about it before and basically it is something like this: There is a 1 in 20 chance of getting a price beyond the Value area (1st standard deviation of price) a 1 in 300 change of a price being beyond the 2nd etc.

I interested in locating the post of the article where I saw this if anyone has any thought please let me know.

I know that Dann G in one of the CBOT sessions quoted some numbers once about the likelihood of getting a price at one deviation given that price had already travelled to a previous deviation.

Any pointers would be helpful.

Hi rayk,

If I recall correctly, I believe that may have been mentioned in Alex Benjamin's presentation, Market Profile 101, at the CBOT site.
