Interactive Brokers Question

Well, first off, let's start with nomeclature.

The naming convention for the smallest incremental price move in the futures world is a TICK.

In forex, it may be referred to as a pip (fractional pips excepted), but not in futures.

Hello,

I wanted to know how I can calculate the price per pip I get per one futures contract with them? I am currently looking at the margin page

http://individuals.interactivebrokers.com/en/trading/marginRequirements/margin.php?ib_entity=llc

and I am trying to compare contracts on different criteria, can you help me on that ?

Thanks!

Look at contract specification. Search for point value and tick size (= minimum increment size) in points. Multiply these two numbers and that is what you want. But I believe they have $ value of tick written there, too.

It trades in dollars USD. The multiplier is 1000. The price increment is .01.

So the minimum move is 1000 * .01 = USD10.00 for the minimum order size of 1

Good luck. You may find it's not the end of the world to switch brokers. Keep your eyes open for a change if you find your demands require other services that must be given preference.
