Am I a bit weird.........

About a year and a half ago, I went to NZ in view to move there.... I spent about 3 months on this first trip to see what I truly thought...

When I arrived, I planned on trading the HMA strat in view of automating what I do know but by using the HMAs for the computers benefit. Anyhow, I ws only trading the UK sess on cable and that was the opposite hours (nightime) and I thought it would be worth the sacrifice.

IT turned out that for the whole month it was the Asian session that traded better. Now, I thought (one of those important turning points in my career) that was a bit harsh, I wonder whether around the clock would be better.

So from then till now... I watched and traded around the clock to my benefit. This works especially well in FX obviously and especially in Yen/UK pairs as there is always someone awake and moving it.

Just reading a thread about 'potential setups' and for me, (I used to have this written in bold across my wall calender), EVERYTHING happens for a reason and thus, coupled with, a perfect exit is an entry, I realised that in my market, potential setups never end, they are always there as EVERYTHING happens for a reason...

Am I the only one that sees and does this?

I'm not sure what you're trying to say... but let me guess

the moral of the story is that every move, every swing, happens for a reason

so... there is no such thing as 'noise'?

if that's what you're saying, than I think yes you're right :)

otherwise... tell me again from the start!

The point of the post was to determine whether I am the only one in the world who sees every pip as an opportunity for profit? And to find out if I am weird!

Yes though, I don't think there is such thing as noise.

EDIT: I am weird though as I just broke a rule by exiting a trade which had paused on support yet not broken my trendline all just because I reached my ideal 500 for the week and watching it go another 80 odd + whilst I do my end of week notes!!!

I see T2W has hit a new low. Must say I am in agreement with the hedgehog... When a trading forums 90% of posts in one day is about porn and nude saunas, you have to wonder how they justify having trading in the website title? :roll eyes:

If you can't see the relationship between porn, trading, and nude saunas you are living a sheltered life Wasp. Time to get out of the South of England and see a few more countries.

I am a full bloodied male and shag like a rabbit BUT, this is business and a billion dollar one at that. If you want to talk porn, go to chan websites and the like, but for me, a trading website should be predominately that, about trading.

Where are the trading discussions on that forum?

Ian, I can't remember my password to rep you on T2W regards the 'punishment' post but that IMO, sums up the UK and the problems beautifully. Consider yourself repped in spirit!

Porn?

damn - i missed that discussion!

This last week has been very much a case of confirming that the new plan works & letting it all settle into my brain. Dipping in & out of a volatile but predominantly orderly market, & sim trading when in doubt. It went well.

Come monday morning i will have deleted most websites from my favourites list, and have a pledge which is to be 100% focused on the job in hand - trading.

Hi guys, there's not been a whole lot of participation lately in some threads of this 'live trading forum' (I'm not pointing the finger at anyone), but there is interest from a bunch of other guys who would like to participate in either posting live trades or commenting on charts and helping us figure out what the market is going to do next!

Unfortunately, right now, these guys can't access our threads because we are only visible for premium members. When we first got here, Soultrader was so kind to provide us with this incentive, but I think we must admit that we are coming up to a point where there is no need to keep things behind closed doors. There are no trolls around here, and those who aren't interest don't participate.

So, unless there are serious objections, I suggest we move everything over to the public area and see how things go. To be honest, I don't suspect much change, I just think we would all benefit from having others contribute as well. Over the course of the last few weeks several members have complained about being alone here. That would no longer be the case then :)

Wasp & myself are 200% behind the idea. I hope the rest is too!

Thanks to all those who have been loyally contributing in the past, and we

hope you continue to do so in the future.

Hi fw,

where are we posting live trades today mate?

here or public? if public, which thread?

same place as always smbtnt :)

if it's done in public, we'll just move these threads over so that the content and name remains the same and nobody gets lost...

It makes little difference to me - I trade while you sleep - and who's interested in trades that average less than 10 minutes anyway. But the idea that they don't need to be private seems reasonable to me.

The other aim is also to have a bit more contributions in the trade & chart analysis thread. I agree that most people aren't interested in each other's trades...

PS: some of my trades last hours ;)

I've nothing to hide!

Its all good having it open like this. Thankfully the community of Traders Lab are a civil, dedicated bunch, here to learn and to discuss the markets without bickering so I look forward to more input.

    • Date: 26th November 2024. Trump’s tariff threats boosted Dollar; Peso, Loonie, Gold & Oil Lower. The Trump trade picked up steam as investors cheered his pick for Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessent. Beliefs he will be a steadying voice in the administration’s fiscal measures, while still following President-elect Trump’s tariff and tax commitments, underpinned. Asia & European Sessions:   Trump threatened on Monday to impose sweeping new tariffs on China, Canada and Mexico on his first day as US President to crack down on illegal immigration and drugs. He would impose a 25% tax on all products entering the country from Canada and Mexico, and an additional 10% tariff on goods from China as one of his first acts as president of the US. Bessent’s 3-3-3 plan aims to cut the deficit to 3% of GDP, boost growth to 3%, and increase oil production to 3 mln barrels. Treasury yields dove in a curve flattener, extending their drops through the session, on expectations inflation will decelerate. A strong 2-year auction also supported. The Dow led the charge, climbing 0.99% to 44,736, a new record peak as the rally broadens. The S&P500 climbed to 6020, a session peak, but finished with a 0.3% gain to 5987. The NASDAQ closed 0.27% higher. Today, stock markets in Europe are posting broad losses, with the DAX down -0.6%, the FTSE 100 0.4%, after a largely weaker close across Asia. ECB: Lane suggests ECB must be open-minded on speed of rate cuts. The ECB’s Chief Economist said in a speech on Monday evening that “remaining open-minded about the speed and scale of adjustments is in fact a valuable strategy across various environments, as different situations may necessitate distinct approaches.” This careful, step-by-step strategy enables us to observe the responses of the economy to our decisions and continuously refine our understanding of their impacts.” The comments leave the door open to a 50 bp move in December, but also tie in with our expectation that the central bank will deliver a 25 bp while tweaking the forward guidance and commit to additional moves. Financial Markets Performance: The USDIndex hit a session high of 107.50 and is currently lower at 106.85. Mexican peso and Canadian dollar slumped as the dollar is being viewed as a haven after the comments of President-elect Donald Trump on tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China. USDCAD spiked to 1.4177 and USDMXN rallied to 20.74. Oil and Gold lost ground, in part on cooling geopolitical risks, and on Trump trades. Oil dropped -3.03% to $69.09 per barrel, in part on the Trump trade and on talk of a potential cease fire between Israel and Hezbollah. Similarly, gold fell -3.26% to $2605 per ounce.
