DOW long 12230

promise I am not stalking you, but most of your trades seem to be triggered around the main pivot point, with a variance of hardly ever more than 10 points.

(on Dow and SPX mostly; havent checked others)

is that a coincidence?

(good calls by the way; I am sulking from two bad shorts on FX this morning; total losses amounting to -49.)

I think it probably is, because I've never used nor calculated pivot points... what other numbers do you have for today?

On the DOW I have 12230 and 12320, on the ES 1363.

Is everybody still okay with the way things are going here (as per posting live trades that is)?

I've noticed that there have been little live trades lately...

Just been taking some time out but back around now.

Happy to post...

I believe that a Live Trade thread should be just that...

Post live trades and perhaps a comment why you have done it.

I think you said thats what the aim was somewhere...

Back in T2W you seemed to enforce this much more...Here in fact there are many rooms to post different things in...with many more topics covered...yet on this thread it seems anyone can post anything...

If you are not going to post live trades to have your success and failures for all to see/share perhaps change the thread name to .."Trades and chat"

If it goes back to trade posting only plus a comment from all the traders I will start posting again..

However in good faith here is one from me...

a) Short Dax 6824

b) stop 40

c) reason looks very overbought... 12310 Dow strong resistance

Well, the purpose and goal has never changed and THIS is the only thing that should be in this thread is LIVE trades (indices). There are several other threads now to discuss or comment on anything else (The Lounge, Trade Discussion & Analysis, and Off, Yet On Topic).

I think most members have pretty much followed those rules, but I'll keep an eye out if there's too much chatter going on. There's nothing wrong with just a small explanation why you entered or exited. Everybody is free to report posts which they feel are inappropriate though, I can't keep an eye on everything at the same time...

Good trading.

Going to add a d) to my posts...the last 2 should have had a d) swing trade..that means opened with the expectation that , if not stopped out it might be held overnight and closed tomorrow.. Its done as a "contract" trade in this case June 2008

I will also post other trades denoted "short term" that might be in the same or opposite direction.. which although more than scalps (hopefully) will be trades that will be held for a hour or less.. and will have a correspondingly tighter stop... these will have a lower win loss ratio % than the "swing trades" and are executed as "rolling cash" trades

Totally agree... nothing wrong with a bit of chat / comment but if you are not going to be posting live trades you should not be posting at all to the "live trades" thread imo.

I would be interested on your thoughts on the above..

Basically why should I bother posting my trades if others are not going to post their trades / positions..?

Don't understand all this short talk. Dow futures almost static for the last 2 hours - there's massive buying demmand waiting on the sidelines after the noise (sorry 'news').

Opened a small long on the dow fut at 326 and a limit long at 303.

Limit to close 400.

Just to add - people aren't hedging against the news - the ftse is at the days high 25 mins before housing AND ppi - they just dont care what the news is...

Well it clearly wouldn't be fair towards those who do contribute, but by first impression most people who post do actually contribute in the live trading aspect. But we'll keep an eye out for any 'infractions' for that matter and everybody is free to let us know if they are issues, but perhaps best to continue the discussion in the other thread "Off, yet On topic".

    • It depends. If you have lots of money that you can buy a house without a loan and if you don't have any parents to sponsor then it is a good idea. Otherwise it might be a bad idea depending where in Canada you are heading to. I earned a good middle income in my home country and I migrated to Vancouver 5 years ago at the age of 35. I had to start right from the bottom, lowest of the low.. Now i am finally earning a middle income in Canada but I still cannot afford to buy a one bedroom apartment. Having left behind friends, family and home, most of the times I think it is not worth it.   In short, do not migrate if you already have a good life in your home country and you are happy. Only migrate to Canada if you really have to leave your home country say there is a war or something really bad. Discrimination still exists here and its really tough for newcomers unless you are super rich. Good luck. David Chong, Quora
    • This is bigger than the internet. Bigger than mobile. Bigger than social media.   While everyone was distracted by stock market fluctuations and political theater…   Most people have NO IDEA what just happened last week with ChatGPT.   Their new memory feature allows ChatGPT to remember EVERYTHING about you across all your conversations.   Think about that for a minute...   While most tech companies have been collecting mere breadcrumbs about you - your likes, your clicks, your browsing history - OpenAI is now collecting the most valuable dataset in human history: your complete psychological profile.   This is Zuckerberg x 5,000.   The more you use ChatGPT, the more it understands you, becoming a supercharged reflection of yourself that improves at an exponential rate.   Are you a regular ChatGPT user?   Consider whether it’s time to turn off the “you can train on my information” feature. To prevent your data from being used for training while still using the memory feature:   Disable Model Training: Navigate to Settings > Data Controls. Toggle off "Improve the model for everyone". Manage Memory Settings: Go to Settings > Personalization > Memory. Here, you can: Turn off memory entirely. Delete specific memories. Use Temporary Chat for sessions that won't be saved or used for training. Now the investment implications…   Why This is Bigger Than You Think Consider this: the relationship between humans and ChatGPT is evolving beyond a mere tool.   People are now treating these AI assistants as friends, confidants, and even romantic partners.   I'm not making this up - there are already documented cases of people ending real human relationships to pursue “connections” with their AI companions.   A viral Instagram meme shows a person going through life with a glowing, featureless humanoid figure - representing ChatGPT - as their companion.   The post has over 1.1 million likes and comments like "Bro ChatGPT is like my best friend. Ain't even ashamed to say it" with 25,000 likes.   But here's where things get really interesting for investors and entrepreneurs...   Three Things to Watch For starters, hardware is the next big thing for the big players.   The iPhone form factor is dead.   It hasn't meaningfully changed in nearly a decade. The next evolution in hardware will be designed specifically to interface with these AI companions.   OpenAI is already working on hardware with Johnny Ive, the legendary designer behind the iPhone and iPod. But you can’t ignore Elon Musk’s edge here.   So what does all of this mean for you?   The companies that control the personal AI relationships will be worth trillions. OpenAI and Elon Musk will have the coziest moats. We're witnessing the birth of a new internet - one built on agents that can communicate with each other across platforms. Google's new agent-to-agent protocol allows AI agents to work together without sharing internal memories or tools. The hardware companies that create the perfect interface for these AI companions will dominate the next decade of technology. And almost nobody is talking about what this means.   My prediction? Within five years, most people will have a personal AI that knows them better than anyone else. And they will interact with it in ways that seem foreign today.   (And, yes, it will almost certainly have dystopian elements.)   In the meantime, the biggest gains won’t come from household names. And, right now, James is seeing a prime opportunity to invest in the most under-the-radar plays in AI…   For dirt cheap. By Chris C.
