The Chimp`s "Forex Trades"

Recommended Posts

Now, let me introduce to you my 1 min chart... it has only two lines, no oscillators here... it cant get any simpler...

attachment.php?attachmentid=3566&stc=1&d=1193269189

Simplicity and Optimization at its MAX ¡¡

you have here the power of clean simple vma`s... very little whipsaws between them... they lead quite well thanks to the decompression of data... giving you very good specific spots to time your trades... they also have the blessing of keeping you inside a trade if you wish...

So many advantages... interesting... a good evolution process has to lead into real simple final products... looks like a kindergarten chart... thought he belongs to the future millonaire generation that grasps its power ¡¡

cheers The Chimp.

So let me give an example of how we can do our "Setuping" on 5 min and our "Timing" on 1 min...

attachment.php?attachmentid=3569&stc=1&d=1193270715

On this simple example that just happened, you can notice how a centrifugal action took place as we had a NET Up Trend and we got an Icon setup to trade there... on the 1 min chart our two vma lines gave us a clean entry...

Simple as that... I dont say this is perfect, but it really works very clean ¡¡

Cheers The Chimp.

This video shows how we now integrate the setuping on 5 min and the timing on 1 min... cheers The Chimp.

Walter, great video! Its becoming clearer and clearer. Please keep these videos coming. The oscillator is still a little fuzzy for me too. Any additional comments you can make about the oscillator in the videos will be helpful.

Many thanks to you and PYenner for all your hard work and willingness to share...Armand

Armand

The oscillator is quite wild and tends to get me in trouble when the blue line is flat, the thing that moves the most seems to get my attention.

For my own sanity I now tend to wait for the blue line to trend before I get excited.

I think the short fast movements during consolidation get ahead of 5min indicators and they become contradictory. Concepts like overbought or lazy are some use with the oscillator but it helps if there is trend which tends to give longer (time) cycles which suit 5min indicators better, then they are more in step with the action.

Unfortunately we seem to have had a lot of flat blue line recently which has not helped at all.

Regards Bruce.

Blu-Ray,

Where are you? The party is not over yet. There are still beer and coffee on the table.

We need your help to convert the following indicators in this thread to ELD code. Thank you.

Attached Files

File Type: mq4 ADXVMA6_12bar.mq4 (6.4 KB, 13 views)

File Type: mq4 ADXVMA6_16bar.mq4 (6.4 KB, 13 views)

File Type: mq4 Chimp2_1.mq4 (4.3 KB, 13 views)

File Type: mq4 TLOMI NonLagMA_v4.mq4 (4.6 KB, 13 views)

File Type: tpl chimp 5 min chart.

tpl (2.2 KB, 12 views)

Thanks Michal

I'm currently trying to code them but :crap:

I've eventually got the 2 ADXVMA's coded up, as of most of yesterday, I was :crap: because it wasn't working. I copied the code exactly from the MT4 downloads but still no joy. Then after more :crap: I eventually realised that ,although they're called 12bar and 16bar they're actually preset at 4 and 40, aaaah, eventually after hours wasted, it was something so simple that I should have checked but thats life.

Anyway so far, I'm on with the TLOMI indicator, but having no joy yet as it's plotting incorrectly, I'm on the case though and will post them all once done.

Cheers

Walter;

is this method going to replace the vma rainbow?

or is it a complementary method?

good question Unicorn... actually I am on a research stage on forex...

one of my ideas is to have a series of diferent "setuping" alternatives on the 5 min charts and use the same universal "timing" method on 1 min...

so far on 5 min "vmar Icons" and "chimp trend trades" are very nice setuping alternatives... I even have aspirations to add Jerry`s statistical methods to the 5 min menu...

What I find as a true evolution on this research is the universal timing method on 1 min wich is a terrific simplification and optimization of the hard timing issues...

So whatever 5 min method you use, the 1 min timing would be the same...

so answering your question, "vmar icons" on 5 min is one of my predilect setups on my arsenal as well.. maybe I should keep posting on that thread the latest examples with our new 1 min univerasal timing... cheers Walter.

Armand... the oscillator has a very periferical function on the entire equation... I will do a video just about that sometime today... cheers Walter.

Thanks Walter;

may I ask a favour;

would you post a couple of setups and entries on gbpusd and/or eurusd, (on the other thread), to compare the behaviour of the vmar setups?

cheers,

Excellent videos Walter. You are a very good mentor.

Will you please explain the concept of your oscillator?

Which quantities it involves and the physical meaning of its construction?

Thank you.

Unicorn.

I will do new video about oscillator... about the physical meaning, Pyenner knows more how he was really built, what I know is that he is an hybrid between cci and other momentum and volume oscillators... cheers Walter.

hehehe, after spending all day trying to get it coded, I finally managed to get it nearly right, but not correct, then you mentioned this and within 5 seconds it looks an exact match :haha:

Thanks Walter, it's saved me a hell of alot of :bang head: as I was trying to get my original to plot correctly.

Cheers

Here is a video trying to explain what to read on this oscillator...

Basicly he should be a visual aid to make more easy the understanding of wich wave we are riding on the moment and what to expect next for an inflection.... he is NOT used for timing, as the timing is done on the 1 min chart with our super vma`s... he only help us like a compass to tell us on wich wave swing we are riding, be it up or down... hope this brings more light on the issue.. cheers Walter.

Hi Walter,

Nice clean charts Walter...a beauty to watch. I had been leaning a little heavy on the oscillator while I am getting used to your set ups. Thanks for clearing that up. I'll need lots more screen time.

The oscillator seemed to be working so well yesterday and this morning I was using it's turning points on the 5 min and looking for entries on the 1 min. Probably a bad idea.

Thanks

Gorgeous charts there Sun ¡¡ well sometimes its tempting to use the oscillator for timing... but vma`s on 1 min will normally do a better job... the oscillator its just an easier wave reader sort to speak...

How many pips you could had cashed there ¡¡¡ wow man... love to see others charts ¡¡ keep them coming... videos also welcomed with your experiences and also questions as well ¡¡ cheers Walter.

    • I have to guess that a single person living alone, with no pets, with a light appetite, and in a small home stands the best chance. Less expenses = more time to get profitable. Maybe... an emotionless psychopath?😂
    • IMHO, demo contests with a cash prize tend to cause new traders to take unrealistic risks because they're literally risking nothing to win something. I wouldn't get into the habit of that.😬
    • I posit that traders should code auto-trading bots, or use a platform interface that supports building bots without coding, and then backtest everything in demo before trading at all. @aimhi, I believe that you have already posted this in another thread.🤓
    • Strange... I can't seem to view your PNG image.😕
    • A custom Better Daily Range indicator for MT5 is now available on the Metaquotes website and directly in the MT5 platform. https://www.mql5.com/en/market/product/103800 The Better Daily Range indicator shows the previous trading day's price range on the current day's chart. Many traders mark out the previous day's high, low, and the current day's open before trading. This is not an average true range indicator (ATR). This is not an average daily range indicator (ADR). This is a daily range indicator (DR). This indicator shows horizontal maximum and minimum range lines. If your broker-dealer's MT5 platform shows Sunday bars, Sunday bars are not included as previous days. In other words, Monday uses Friday's price data (skips Sunday). This indicator also shows two 25% (of range) breakout lines: one that is 25% higher than the maximum range line, and one that is 25% lower than minimum range line. A middle range line is also shown. Immediately after the daily close of your broker-dealer, all five range lines update to the new daily values.   Many traders only trade during times of high volume/liquidity. The Better Daily Range indicator also shows five adjustable time separator lines: A local market open time line (a vertical line), A local market middle time A line (a vertical line), A local market middle time B (a vertical line), A local market middle time C (a vertical line), A local market close time (a vertical line), and A local market open price (a horizontal line). The location of the local market open price depends on your input local market open time. In other words, you input your desired market open time according to your local machine/device time and the indicator automatically shows all five session lines. When your incoming price bars reach your input local market open time line, the indicator automatically shows the price to appear at your input local market open time. If your broker-dealer's MT5 platform shows Sunday bars, the time separator lines do not show on a Sunday. Immediately after midnight local machine/device time, the five session time lines (vertical lines) are projected forward into the current day (into the future hours) and the local open price line is erased. The local open price line reappears when the price bars on the chart reach your input local open time (your local machine/device time).   The indicator has the following inputs (settings):   Chart symbol of source chart [defaults to: EURUSD] - Allows you to show data from another chart symbol other than the current chart symbol. Handy for showing standard timeframe data on an MT5 Custom Chart. Local trading session start hour [defaults to: 09] - Set your desired start hour for trading according to the time displayed on your local machine/device operating system (all times below are your local machine/device operating system times). The default setting, 09, means 9:00am. Local trading session start minute [defaults to: 30] - Set your desired start minute. The default setting, 30, means 30 minutes. Both the default hour and the default minute together mean 9:30am. Local trading session hour A [defaults to: 11] - Set your desired middle hour A for stopping trading when volume tends to decrease during the first half of lunch time. The default setting, 11, means 11:00am. Local trading session minute A [defaults to: 00] - Set your desired middle minute A. Both the default hour and the default minute together mean 11:00am. Local trading session hour B [defaults to: 12] - Set your desired middle hour B for the second half of lunch time. The default setting, 12, means 12:00pm (noon). Local trading session minute B [defaults to: 30] - Set your desired middle minute B. Both the default hour and the default minute together mean 12:30pm. Local trading session hour C [defaults to: 14] - Set your desired middle hour C for resuming trading when volume tends to increase. The default, 14, means 2:00pm. Local trading session minute C [defaults to: 00] - Set your desired middle minute C. Both the default hour and the default minute together mean 2:00pm. Local trading session end hour [defaults to: 16] - Set your desired end hour for stopping trading. The default setting, 16, means 4:00pm.
