Walter`s Forex "Vma Trend Scalps"

Recommended Posts

I figured to use the yellow line vma(2,3,3). .

Can you tell me exactly for what input each number stands for ? and are cyan and yellow lines same indi but diferent inputs ?....

For exits did you consider the new yellow and cyan crossover...

good work Unicorn ¡¡ cheers Walter.

Can you tell me exactly for what input each number stands for ?

yellow fast_vma( ema_periods=2, adx_periods=3, stoch_periods=3)

cyan signal_vma( ema_periods=3, adx_periods=5, stoch_periods=5)

red rainbow base_vma( ema_periods=5, adx_periods=5, stoch_periods=5)

and are cyan and yellow lines same indi but different inputs ?....

basically yes; with a slight difference:

the last computation of signal_vma is sma(vidya, periods=2) (cyan)

the last computation of fast_vma is dema(vidya, periods=3) (yellow)

For exits did you consider the new yellow and cyan crossover...

yes, but I have not spent enough time at examples yet.

Walter see attached chart. What do you think??

Buenas noches.

Scarry man, wouldn't wanna be in Mike's place ).

My guess is that it can't be done, and I am already pitying poor Mike.

Take care, ya'll

:shocked:

Thanks for the vote of confidence. ;)

All kidding aside I feel horrible and if this can't be recovered I will not be a mod anymore.

If nothing else I'm not hiding and I'll take the chimp's beating like a man. I was playing with deleting my thead to see where I went wrong and I still don't see what I did but clearly I did something wrong. I also noticed on "soft" deletes you have the option to check a box and save attachments which I didn't do. So unless James has a way to restore from a backup or something you guys are gonna have a Mike pinata. :embarassed:

Mike, I have high confidence in your abilities. It's just that partial recovery is a tricky thing. If you'd pull it off, it'd be awesome.

Cheers and good luck

Hi walter,

I ran a maintenance to fix threads but I am unable to retrieve the attachments. The attachments are all stored inside our server but they are all piled into one folder. There is no way for me to identify the filenames associated with this thread. Do you know a rough estimate on the number of attachments the thread has in total?

The solution I can think off for now is to restore them manually only if you have saved the attached files. I will ask my coder to look into this shortly. So please give me till today to see if I can sort this out. Thanks

I went through all 4 pages and counted the posts that show that they were edited by me, these are the ones that had attachments deleted. :doh:

Page 1 = 8

Page 2 = 25

Page 3 = 23

Page 4 = 14

70 total for all 4 pages :crap:

I dont think it can be retrieved unless I run a previous backup database which will probably delete the past 2 days of posting and registration. :( I am going to temporary allow post editing so users can try to manually restore attachments with their posts. Very sorry for this.

If there's anything I can do to help get the thread back on track please let me know. I just can't believe the mess 1 click created. Actually I can, cause I see it happen on the market all day long but I never expected to damage any of your guys work.

Hello Soultrader;

There is another peculiarity that the IT specialist should look into:

The system does not allow the user to delete an attachment (say an image file that was uploaded by mistake), while it allows the user to delete the post.

This is really absurd.:confused::confused::confused:

Take care.

there are cases of very shallow pullbacks, one alternative is the oscillator... on my new approach you will see how I deal with shallow pullbacks with more efficiency thanks to vma`s combined to hull signals ... just very cool stuff indeed...

Hello Walter;

I have been anxiously waiting for this new approach;

How is the research on the "very cool combination of vma and Hull_ma" going??

Looking forward to your post.

best regards.

Hi Unicorn... I did a lot of testing... very atractive stuff... but on the end I finded that it was more reliable to use two separate vma`s and watch the relationship between them and NOT the vma and its hull signal... the hull is an average that overshoots... this has some good and also bad effect on timing aproaches... when volatilty is low it may be very interesting giving tight entries.. on the oposite condition, testings say its not conveniant...

So you see, not all ideas have success... what I am actually working on is in finally settling down to the vmar icons and do a final optimized version on each component readings... my actual crisis relies on wich platform should I do this final product as mt4 has a lot of pros/cons and NT has nice tick charts but data issues makes it seriuosly not reliable... will see...

On the other hand I am working in a new "ICON" presentation that will end with a concept mambo that I feel I am confusing people instead of helping...

So I will try to step aside for maybe 10-15 days now and come back with some good solid stuff that will really rock... a product that will be the complete resume of all what has been dealed so far, but in a more didactic and functional presentation... that traders will understand the concept more clear have a pre-digested alternative for the ones who like to follow something pre-done, and also a core concept for those who wish to adapt more to their style...

Thats my process now... cheers Walter.

As we unfortunately lost the attachments on this thread, I thought It would be conveniant to upload again the video series on momentum discernment we had here... I believe it is a key to success in trading...

After this post I would appreciate if some mod can close this thread...

I will prefer to continue this topics on a bran new thread...

For those who are following my forex research on vmar icons, scalps etc... I plan to do a new thread (some time mid december 07) with my definitive aproach I will be using on my live forex trading, that will explain my definitive aproach, wich charting platform I will use , etc, etc.. and will be following trades as well... thanks for all support guys during the open research process, also hope it had some general educational value... for those who want to know in advance where I am headed, well basicly into vmar icons on the 5 and 1 min "setuping" / "timing" strategy explained here http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/f24/walter-s-forex-trend-trades-2364.html so far I find this timeframes the most reliable at this point... and probably the most easy to trade... will add to that the most easy centripetal setups too... see you there... cheers Walter.

    • Date: 04th March 2025. Tariffs and OPEC+ Drive Oil Prices Lower.   Crude Oil prices fell 0.70% on Tuesday declining closer to the asset’s main support level. OPEC’s latest announcement has been one of the main drivers of lower prices. OPEC, which produces 40% of the world’s Crude Oil, surprisingly has increased oil production. However, other economic factors are also triggering a lower demand. OPEC Increases Supply Pressuring Prices OPEC+ confirms it will increase production and market output in 2025 despite prices declining for six consecutive weeks. The move from OPEC is primarily driven by pressure from the US administration to not purposely look to lower production in order to keep prices high. OPEC+ will boost oil production by 138,000 barrels per day starting in April, causing crude prices to drop. The move has become possible with Russia expecting the Ukraine-Russia conflict to end in 2025 and the US’s more favourable approach towards Russia and Saudi Arabia. This marks the first of several monthly increases, aiming to restore 2.2 million barrels per day by 2026 after a two-year pause. The higher output will increase supply and can significantly change the balance between supply and demand. As a result, Crude Oil prices have fallen, particularly as economic data globally has taken a hit over the past month. Over the past six weeks, Crude Oil prices have fallen by more than 10%. However, the move by OPEC is related solely to the supply within the market. Simultaneously, trade wars are also worrying traders about how demand may change in the upcoming months.     US Turn Up The Heat on Trade Wars The US tariffs on Mexico and Canada are now officially active, taking the level of tariffs to its highest level since the 1980s. President Trump has also advised the US to add a further 10% tariff on China in addition to the 10% announced in January. As a result, experts believe the global economy is likely to witness shockwaves in the short to medium term. This can also be seen in the stock market which has fallen 5% over the past 3 weeks. The economic slowdown is catching up with rising inflation and tariffs which are put into place. Uncertainty over the Federal Reserve’s next moves is growing with some economists advising the Fed may be pressured into taking earlier. In response to the additional tariffs, China is vowing to take countermeasures to protect its producers. Warren Buffett called the tariffs an extra tax on people with little economic benefit. Weaker economic activity and a lower risk appetite within the market are known to pressure prices significantly. During the previous Trump administration and ‘trade tariff policy’ the price of Crude oil fell 13%. Crude Oil - Technical Analysis The price of Crude Oil in the longer term is obtaining indication the price may decline. On a monthly chart, the price forms a clear descending triangle which is known to hold a bearish bias. On the 2-hour chart, the price is also trading below the 75-bar Exponential Moving Average, below the VWAP and below the neutral areas of most oscillators. For this reason, momentum is indicating downward price movement. However, the main concern for bearish traders is the support level which is sitting at $66.70 per barrel. The support level is currently 1.50% points away from the current price. In order for sell signals to materialise in the short term, traders will be monitoring if the price can break below $67.69.     Key Takeaway Points: OPEC+ plans to boost production in 2025, aiming to restore 2.2 million barrels per day by 2026, pushing crude prices lower. The US imposes record-high tariffs on Mexico, Canada, and China, raising concerns about global economic stability and market declines. Crude Oil prices decline as a result. Rising tariffs and inflation add uncertainty, with economists speculating the Fed may act sooner than expected. Technical analysis shows a bearish trend, but the price of Crude Oil is also nearing the key support levels at $66.70 per barrel. Always trade with strict risk management.
