Ideas for Contents? Amazon coupons available

Recommended Posts

As you may have noticed, I have alot of auto link amazon books on the forum. Basically I do it for educational purposes but at the same time I due collect a tiny percentage as commision from amazon. Every month they give me about $25-$75 free amazon money which I like to spend on my own personal trading books. I figured I'll start a contest once in a while so the winner can use those gift coupons that I receive instead.

This month I received a total of $25.52 in free amazon money. Im willing to contribute this amount on your next amazon purchase. I want to make this into a contest form. If anything I can add the next months funds and combine it to a pool of $50 plus. Up to you guys.

What i have in mind is a simple voting on threads ppl enjoyed the most or found the most valuable. We can start listing the thread titles and the member who contributed the most in those threads. Hence, the member with the most vosts will become the winner. I figured I could try to do this every month and the amount of Amazon money will fluctuate monthly. If you guys are up for it, please post your opinion here. Any other ideas of a contest will be appreciate as well. (no stock picking, performance based stuff please...)

Hey James, I think that's a great idea. But make sure you keep some of the gift certificates for yourself man, I know how expensive those books can be!

I really think the idea is excellent, as it helps encourage and reward those who have already been posting outstanding content here. There are a few in particular who are making a big difference for me in my transitional phase I am currently in as far as AMT, etc.

I like the idea of fun contests. How about the guy who owns the most Mac computers wins the prize?

Not to get all artsy fartsy or anything but photo contests are always fun. Maybe who's got the neatest/dirtiest workspace. Or most colorful workspace...

Most mac computers!!?? heh heh talk about a rigged game, TG.

but yeah those ( the workspace things, etc) would be good contests too. Although I'd lose. Miserably. lol

How about a contest to see who can come up with the best contest ideas? :p

Off the top of my head:

Who can find the funniest/most outrageous internet video clip

Best profile

Best forum signature

OR

You could have TL logo stickers made and have participants find creative places to put them anywhere in the world! Take pictures, then upload... lol

Hey I like the stickers idea. My local paper had a similar contest...I took a pic in Somalia off the coast holding up their paper and they seemed to like it. (I'm from a tiny town in MS originally).

While there's many great threads (PP's VSA brought me here in the first place, Several of Walts are great, numerous others spring to mind too) I'd have to put my vote in for Jerry's (JPerl) astounding series on 'Trading with Market Statistics". :bow down: Ive seen (and bought!) far inferior stuff for $$$. Trouble is its up to 5 chapters (threads) now - I guess I should just vote for them all.

Any other result and I say its rigged hehe
