swing position (going through rollover)

Recommended Posts

Greetings to everyone,

I'm currently switching to e-minis, and such thing as rollover became an issue for me since I'm a swing trader.

Swing traders (if there are any on this board), how do you manage your position when rollover cuts into your holding period?

The only thing that comes on my mind is to sell and re-buy (assuming you're holding a long position) contracts on rollover, and then assume your entry point from where position was initially originated and not from the point where you re-bought it on rollover...

Is this the way it's done?

Thanks in advance,

P.S. very cozy, selective and very 'technological' forum. Great job guys!

I don't swing trade the indices due to the leverage risk but from what I understand you just sell before expiration and repurchase when volume rolls over.
