Using online broker internationally

Hi all,

I've immersed myself in stock market information for the last month. All that time one spends on his phone for random things, well now it's become 90% research time for me day and night, online and great books. Yes, complete newbie, but very motivated and keen to learn a whole lot.

Im Canadian but I travel a fair amount, about 7 months a year abroad. 

I want to open an account with a canadian online broker (qtrade). They tell me to be physically in my country to do so. 

Can someone inform me about a nice way to trade abroad with my country's broker, or are there better options.

I did marry in Indonesia and spend lots of time there and will look into Asia's markets of course.

You can trade internationally, and of course, the Asian market is very good to give immense return if you give proper research and time for it.
