[VSA] Volume Spread Analysis Part I
jjthetrader replied to TinGull's topic in Volume Spread Analysis
PP, you marked the bar pointed out in the attached chart as 'no demand'. Technically it's volume is less than the previous two but it's still pretty high, relatively speaking. Could that still be considered no demand then? This may be acceptable volume in FX to define a no demand, I am relatively new with currencies so I was hoping you could confirm this level of volume is ok to go short on. thanks. -

A printable version is available at one of tguiders affiliates, tradethetruth dot com under the downloads section. This one's been available free for a couple years there. Mr.Ed, if someone has never had a look at Wycoff before what material would you guider them to get started with? I like your attitude of different strokes for different folks. People have got to trade the way they feel comfortable, with tools that suit them. -

Sledge, tradeguider did a free event yesterday and they called this one. Check out the resistance line they have drawn in there. They should be posting that recording soon. You may be able to learn something from it. -

Here's a chart. TradeGuider threw up a bunch of weak signals before it broke down. Others may comment on it now that there's a chart up. It's a 30min BTW. -

Tradestation: The good, the bad or the ugly?

Exactly, tradestation's order routing is through the foothills of Mexico via donkey. -

I went with Infinity. Love them. Lower margin, faster execution. However I was used to tradestation so it's all relative. -
Tradestation: The good, the bad or the ugly?

This is not uncommon. TS support's solution is to log out and log back in and try to get on another one of their servers. I would urge anyone relying on proper data to stay away from TS. I'm so much happier since I left. -

Do the folks using the add on for Ninja from fin-alg find the VAH etc to be accurate? I'm running the trial and my munbers differ from those offered at mypivots.com. Could theirs be incorrect? I'm thinking of buying the ninja one. Can you lay it over proce at all to get a complete visual? thanks JJ

Nice work James! I like how you use a multiple 'techniques' to trade with. You've got MP, Fib, VSA etc. Good work using complimentary approaches. What software are you using? JJ -
Tradestation: The good, the bad or the ugly?

I hear ya bro. I had to make a big decission to lose all my indicators but I've now switched and am getting way better trades. Infinity rules! Lightning fast execution. I didn't even realize how crappy TS was until I started using Infinity. Good bye and Good riddance TS. It shouldn't be too hard to recode into eSignal. Good luck with your decission. -

I've got charting with TradeGuider so I'm good to go with the AT platform at my side. -
Tradestation: The good, the bad or the ugly?
jjthetrader replied to timokrates's topic in Brokers and Data Feeds
Infinity for sure. TS called me to try and get me to stay offering free platform for 3 months but I make enough trades that I wasn't paying anyway. They said the new build will be more stable with data. Who knows what's true. I still don't feel safe letting a screwy program manage my money. -

Tradestation: The good, the bad or the ugly?
jjthetrader replied to timokrates's topic in Brokers and Data Feeds
I closed my TS brokerage account today. The platform is unreliable with it's data. If the markets gets active, the TS matrix locks up. My charts were actually 15min delayed one day when it was calm. Go figure. Don't get me started on slippage. 2 ES points slippage? Come on TS! I was up 2 points on my trade and put in my order to exit and ended up negative 1 tick from my entry! I'm not impressed. As a professional you can't rely on tradestation. If this is a hobby you might be able to get by with them, maybe. -

Hey Tawe, Our one dollar coin has a loon on it. It's that simple! On the off chance people don't know what a loon is, it's a native waterfowl species similar to a duck but way stealthier looking. -

Sledge, keep up the good work. Like you said, most of your trades are good ones. You're going to have losing trades even following VSA. I made two trades last week that were good calls but my stop got hit. Losing trades happen for a lot of reasons. You've got to play to win. You're certainly not a moron. In fact there was a chance that that support of the previous low could have held. cheers mate. PS, why is the GBP called cable? -

[VSA] Volume Spread Analysis Part I
jjthetrader replied to TinGull's topic in Volume Spread Analysis
Hey Sledge, the volume on your 1.9510 bar is way too high to be considered a test. It's actually increading volume on the way down. Also a test needs to test something. The bar before your 1.9510 was ultra high volume up with a close in the middle with the next bar down. This is bearish and represens supply. I'm glad you're posting. This is how we all learn. And now we've got Seb on it so that's good for all. With the crazy interest rate action happening today who knows what will happen.
