... thats just how it works... we'd all be rich if it called every top and bottom in the market in real time would'nt we?
-
Very interesting stuff!

^^ Thank you very much for your insight! Your book is wonderful BTW! The only "Trading" book that is based in the reality of the markets.

Suri - I too have been a big ABC trader for years... I was just curious what you were using to trigger entries? Entries always seem to be the most important, avoiding catching the falling knife.

Google is your friend. http://trader.online.pl/MSZ/e-w-Heikin-Ashi.html

Yup... start with what you want to trade. They all have a "personality". I mean, all markets are going to print up basically the same kind of patterns, but the ES for example has more backfill than say the YM or NQ because it is arbitraged with the big contract so it doesn't move as much "in a straight line" as the YM/NQ/TF sometimes due to that because its always backfilling with the big contract. Likewise, the FX markets have a different personality than a lot of the emini's... They tend to get momentum going in a swing and will BLAST through prior highs or lows... where in the mini's where this still happens sometimes, its much more likely to stop run or fake you out because the pit is pushing the market through those areas to catch people... Again, these examples aren't 100% all the time (or even 40%) but each market has its own personality so I say learn where you want to stay.

I haven't actually gotten it to work in TS yet.... what do I need to make it into... an indicator, show me? I've tried a couple different things but haven't gotten it to show up on the charts yet.
-
fyi - on compile with the HH/LL darkyellow isn't recognized by TS so you'll need to change it to like red or green to get it verified.
-
Thanks for sharing. I particularly love the HH/LL indicator. So many new traders can't grasp this concept and to have it literally spelled out for them is a very powerful learning tool. Kudos to you!

This is My Method, Do You Think I'm on the Right Road?

Can you still have profitable days if price action goes back to what it was circa 2005-2006 with 4pt intraday ranges? Go back and look at some historical charts... if you can make it in that stuff I think you'll be fine. That is my only worry for you is that IF the market were to revert back to tight congestive small intraday ranges that gettinga tick here or there might be much harder and thus much harder to overcome the commissions. Realistically I don't think you have to worry about that happening for awhile considering the global meltdown thats just becoming evident but I would hate for you to be wildly successful for two years get to trading huge size only to have the market shift on you and your edge evaporate with it. Other than that you're good to go. The results prove it! Go pay yourself. -

Random request... i was wondering if anyone could post up a 1min chart of either of the symbols from the past day or so... I don't have them included in my data package yet and I don't want to pay for them if they aren't gonna vibe with how I trade... If its similar to the es its all good but I just wanted to confirm before I shell out money. -
This is My Method, Do You Think I'm on the Right Road?

Honestly the results look really good for a scalping system. Your losses are very few and sized about perfectly compared to your wins. Some people scalp for 2 ticks but then they give up 12 ticks on a loss... that stuff isn't going to work in the long run but it looks like your entries and your management are very solid. Just make sure your allowing your entries a real fill (since it is in sim) as other have said, price needs to trade through your order by 1 tick and 99% of the time you will be filled. As long as that is the case with your entries i'd say that is VERY impressive. Obviously I don't expect you to share your entries but i'm just curious what kind of stuff you would look at for scalping? Candles? S/R? Fibs? Its just such a different mindset than what a lot of traders use I was just curious what you would focus on for entries. If you could just give a broad answer that would be great. -
Can Someone Tell Me How to Get an Indicator to Stop Plotting

Looks like the EOT package... can their people not help you? -
i was bored this morning... lol.

I literally laughed out loud when I read what they released today. What a load of you-know-what. And these are the same people that for the last year were releasing numbers that were showing a growing economy? I guess when in doubt - lie.

Not that i'm aware of!

What specifically do you need? I'd be happy to try and export the studies and upload them here.
-
You should be able to export any of the studies from TS to .eld format and then just import them to multicharts.

Oh hey i'm all for you about the transaction tax. I've already contacted my reps. I just don't know how I could get around it legally.
