  1. Sorry for the lapse gents. Had one of those "eureka" moments over the weekend and hopefully I cracked it. I really hope I did at least. Who knew a simple ADX filter could revolutionize my results?
  2. Holy crap guys. 30 seconds later! Thats exactly what I needed. Functions were still intact zdo! Can't thank you all enough. Cheers!
  3. I was modifying my ADX indicator code and was stupid and didn't make a backup. Now i've screwed up the code to the point where the indicator doesn't verify and I would just like to restore the original version. Can't find the code anywhere online. I was wondering if anyone would be so kind to just copy/paste the original code? Thank you in advance!!!
  4. Thanks for your continued work Tams! Great stuff!
  5. Thanks Hal! I'd be curious to know what MA's and the periods your using if you don't mind sharing. If so, no big deal!!! Good work today (and this week!) Cheers!
  6. HAL9000 - It kind of looks like an off shoot of walters work? Looks nice and simple to me and those are typically the best kind! Your results are consistently good so just keep it up. I'm just curious (if it is an offshoot of walters) what timeframes your trading? Looks like a 300 tick chart? I don't want to hyper scalp like walter on a 50t or less. Also, are you using his MA settings?
  7. Got caught in some chop this A.M. Turned things around OK in the P.M. Still not performing up to my own expectations!
  8. Been out of town for the past week without internet access in the boonies of Missouri. I'll be back kicking ass tomorrow! Great job on the posting everyone. Its awesome to see so many new people posting blotters as well!!!!
  9. got f**ked by my internet connection today. The one setup that would've been profitable my internet dropped out literally 30 seconds from a signal being taken... It went for a textbook 3 NQ points. I guess shit happens... i just couldn't believe that it happened at EXACTLY that time. Oh well. Two other trades taken, textbook pars... Nothing else set up. Still content with the day.... haven't "lost" money any day this week. Not huge days by any means (in fact i'm kind of embarrassed by how small $$$ wise they have been) but i'll take this kind of stuff any day over violent drawdowns.
  10. ^^^ Nicely done Frank. Personally I think it just keeps me accountable and focuses me a bit more than just "writing it off" as a winning or losing day. Same reason i've been blogging daily since I started. The blog helps me look back at where i've been. Can't know where youre going until you know where you've been!
  11. wash day. made one mistake in the es this morning and bailed on what I thought was a invalid trade I had taken (it turned out it was valid) but not after I had bailed on the position for a -2 tick read... would've paid me a measly +2 ticks but still... tiny mistake is a 50.00 swing in profitability!
  12. Thanks blu-ray thats exactly what I needed to know!!! I had tried just inputting the RGB values directly with no luck.
  13. I have an indicator that colors candles different colors based off set criteria just like a Heiken Ashi indicator would. Thing is you can't specify the color of the candles via the color tab and rather have to change the colors via the input tab and using easylanguage defined colors like "Green, LightGray" etc. But in some of the easylanguage documents i've found you can also substitute these words with some kind of hexidecimal representation of the word as well. Like the color Blue can be respresented by the word "Blue" but also as a RGBValue of 16711680. How do you get the RGBValue? I'd like to change the colors to different shades of colors rather than just use the basic red, green, etc. Thanks for your help!
  14. Here ya go buddy. TIDAL WAVE.ELD
  15. Not much opportunity today or huge big trades but I took what was available and i'm content with the outcome. I've really been focused on eliminating (or reducing) the drawdowns as much as possible and waiting for very specific entry criteria. Its not so much about how much you make each day as much as it is how much you give back in my book. Make enough on average each day and just add size and live your life. I'd be more than content with a 10 lot on this profit today and yesterday. A lot of newbies (myself included) think the key to making money is making at least 10 pts a day or something, when in reality its much better to make 2 pts and add 5 lots. Max # of points each day is a fallacy in my mind that traps traders into overtrading and focusing on always trying to get more.
  16. dayum nice job BF! No action in the ES today... Fixed my issues I had on Thursday and i'm moving forward. NQ gave some decent action, and I didn't capture all of the moves but I think I took appropriate exits considering what price action was doing when I got out. Growth is growth and i'll take it. Traded every signal that came along today and I traded them 110% correctly from beginning to end. Pleased with the outcome.
  17. ^^ +1. I use the Better Trend Line indicator as well.
  18. True enough. Moving on to tomorrow!
  19. I feel like I got gang-raped by a pack of gorillas. Nothing went right today... trades would be up +2-3 points, not give me a par signal, not give me an exit signal, and WHAM max loss. I took a shitty first trade (for -150.00) and I should'nt have... but the rest just were consistently crappy. Trades that did work would get me to par and backfill against me to take me out before I could take profit. It was just s**t like that all day. I called it quits early after reaching my pain tolerance for the day. I didn't trade badly, I held for what I needed to see, executed, was patient... just NOTHING WORKED.
  20. Work till 2-3PM?! Blasphemy!!!
  21. basically a wash day for me today. First es trade should've been par (that was the level it was at when I got my exit signal, but I couldn't fill so I took a loss) and second trade I should've got +.75 but price was whipping so violently I got filled for +.25... disappointing but thats real life trading for ya. Wasn't 1 signal setup for me the entire morning. Not the kind of tapes that are ideal for my style of trading personally so you just take it and move on. The point is that you don't get killed on a day that doesn't jive with your method.
  22. re-entered on the ES long when I shouldn't have.... missed a tiny (35.00) nq profit because I wasn't paying attention. Would've lost today either way you slice it but I could've lost a lot less (-10, rather than -110). Oh well.... traded pretty well today overall.
  23. Back at it live again and boy how i'm glad I took the time to SIM last week and get this new idea nailed out. Worked great today... not a lot of profit but I didn't lose at all and personally that really helps keeping me pulling the trigger correctly and keeps a low stress environment for me to work in. Personally I trade better with a higher win rate method than a lower win rate method regardless of profitability. Anywho... here ya go!
  24. This is insanely cool! I'd love to trade forex again but I don't want to have to open separate brokerage accounts all over again. And I didn't want to trade futures because quite frankly that was too much size for me on 1 standard lot. But if we can have "mini" lots now (1/10th of spot standard correct?) then that would be awesome! I didn't see it in the press release but are the markets the same or are these separate sub symbols that might now have much liquidity? Basically is it set like spot forex where its all the same market and I have to just specify my lot size or will it be like gold with a big and small contract?
  25. Thanks BF! I didn't know OEC was .eld compatible! I might just have to check that out!
