  1. I would share.... The way I see it is we are not competing against each other. If I was running a restaurant right next to yours I wouldn't give you my secret recipes because it would obviously affect my business if you stole the idea and used it. I think in trading if someone were to use the same strategy as I did it wouldn't affect my portfolio personally. If I did share a system that worked I don't think that an infinite number of people would use it anyway so it won't become "obsolete" because of this reason. I also think that sharing a successful system no matter how automated it might be still requires some sort of skill level. Just because something works for someone else doesn't mean it will work for you....
  2. Very true. This thread has evolved and become extremely useful. I have read everyone of Tams' posts in this thread and have gained some useful information. Here are my 3 indicators: 1) My red dart 2) My blue dart 3) My orange dart I throw them at a newspaper every morning and then pick one to trade. Just kidding, here are the actual 3 I use. 1) EMA (Exponential moving average) 2) RSI (Relative strength index) 3) Volume I don't have a mechanical system, but they help with decisions.
  3. When I first started out, the first thing I "discovered" was MA's and MACD. I was convinced I found the holy grail to making money and wondered why everyone in the world wasn't using this indicator. Next day I discovered it's not what I thought; the indicator comes out too "late" and it seems it's good to use for backtesting only. I guess some do use it to trade. Didn't work for me though!
