  1. Patuca - I've made it easy to recount your uncle list. Or are you not paying attention to people with less than a 1000 posts?
  2. I'd take the old lady. Because doing so would make me look like such a gentlemen and a good guy that the partner would want my number. And while I'm taking the lady to the hospital the friend who saved my life would vouch for how great I am, locking in that first date. Or if the storm means whoever I don't take will die, I'd take the partner. The old lady's on the way out anyway and the friend could be a terrible person, who only saved me because he thought I looked right-wing (it happened at the Norway shooting).
  3. I'd take the old lady. By doing such a noble deed, my perfect partner would want my number before I left. And while I take the lady to the hospital, the friend who was willing to save my life would be telling my perfect partner how great I am, thus cementing that first date. Or, if the stormy night implies that whoever I don't take will die, I choose the partner. The old lady's on the way out anyway and the friend could end up being some megalomaniacal weirdo who seems overly interested in proving a point about stop-losses using a situation that has absolutely nothing in common with stop-losses. Like using this post to prove how "you can be a better trader! Guaranteed!"
  4. And it's for sure not that he used the suspension cables, thus travelling outside the main bridge/road area, going around it? Or was he in a helicopter? Or a plane? Or was he actually King Kong and thus able to step over this man-sized bridge, a la the big version of Mighty Mouse's theory? Or is he Spiderman? If not, at me to the uncle list.
  5. My last shot: He walks across the suspension cables? (I was getting at this on the through-bridge, but if it's just a regular ol' bridge, it would have suspension cables instead of a walkway)
  6. Not to stray off topic, because these puzzles are a blast, but this thread has made me aware of something a lot of us inherently know, but don't often acknowledge: just how important all the little details of our trading plans are. Obviously this doesn't apply to algo traders, who have few, if any, ifs ands and buts in their systems, but for all the retail traders to explain their trading plan to a person could result in very, very different trading depending on how the other person interpreted key words and ideas. Just reiterates the importance of communicating clearly. I can hear my mother harp: "Say what you mean and mean what you say"
  7. This is a GREAT thread. And while I've been wrong about every puzzle so far, this last one by SIUYA blew my mind. I keep doing the math expecting it to change and am really looking forward to hearing how the heck it happened. Regarding the bridge, I think the definitions of both "over" and "around" have been left unattended to. Using "around" as in, "are my keys around here?" where the word is just subtext for an area, and using the word "over" literally, as in "above" I think it's a through-arch bridge and if you were to walk on the arch you'd be travelling OVER the bridge while "around" it.
