Obsidian,SYUIA Thanks for the advice. My intention is to dabble on the exchange rates, moving money backwards and forwards when the rates look good. I do not have the time at my desk to trade on an hourly or even daily basis at times. I will have a look at Oanda. Jim

Hi I am considering opening a forex account. My circumstances are that I work overseas, am paid in USD but am a UK resident. Ultimatley I want all my cash exchanged to GBP. I have read up on leverage but am still a little confused. I am happy to trade on a 1:1 basis but not sure that I want the risk of leverage. Is it possible to kave a 1:1 trading account and would the overall transaction save me much over standard bank forex rates. Thanks Jim
