when money is involved don't count on that by-the-book how markets will react to released data may change and may be unpredictable from time to time...just my observation...

Plans to strike Iran "ready", says U.S. Israel envoy U.S. plans for a possible military strike on Iran are ready and the option is "fully available", the U.S. ambassador to Israel said, days before Tehran resumes talks with world powers which suspect it of seeking to develop nuclear arms. Like Israel, the United States has said it considers military force a last resort to prevent Iran using its uranium enrichment to make a bomb. Iran insists its nuclear program is for purely civilian purposes. "It would be preferable to resolve this diplomatically and through the use of pressure than to use military force," Ambassador Dan Shapiro said in remarks about Iran aired by Israel's Army Radio on Thursday. "But that doesn't mean that option is not fully available - not just available, but it's ready. The necessary planning has been done to ensure that it's ready," said Shapiro, who the radio station said had spoken on Tuesday. The United States, Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany have been using sanctions and negotiations to try to persuade Iran to curb its uranium enrichment, which can produce fuel for reactors, medical isotopes, and, at higher levels of purification, fissile material for warheads. New talks opened in Istanbul last month and resume on May 23 in Baghdad. Israel, which is widely assumed to have the Middle East's only atomic arsenal, feels threatened by the prospect of its arch-foe Iran going nuclear and has hinted it could launch preemptive war. But many analysts believe the United States alone has the military clout to do lasting damage to Iran's nuclear program. In January, Shapiro told an Israeli newspaper the United States was "guaranteeing that the military option is ready and available to the president at the moment he decides to use it". U.S. lawmakers are considering additional legislation that would increase pressure on Iran, with further measures to punish foreign companies for dealing with Iran in any capacity.

What is Your Biggest Weakness As a Trader?
Obsidian replied to Jack Francisco's topic in Beginners Forum
Patience I realized that spending too much time watching the market made me impatient. I changed to the right time frame for my personality... -
That is what makes the market, trading exciting. I like this challenge.

In fact I am against a fixed r:r since markets change, conditions change. Of course maybe this is different story for very short term traders. When you focus on a fixed value, you miss big movements..is what I learned

USD/CHF did great but losing momentum. I closed at 0.9440. Keep an eye on GBP/CHF as well... trend reversals may be a bit tricky but candles, trendlines and s/r levels help a lot. Clouds (on 4hour chart) are mainly for following the trend. that is why I am using 2 different time frames. Profit targets depends, I usually decide according to important s/r zones. But if I see stronger (or weaker) movement, I adjust my targets... for example the reason I closed usd/chf (image @ post #1) was it formed a shooting star after failing at 0.9474 resistance. For more explanation I will try to post some images when I open new positions

I was thinking of closing this position at 1.2920 but weekly looks bullish, so going to close 1/2 now and move sl to entry..target for the rest is 1.3020

I usually prefer following the trend and I don't have so much time to sit in front of computer for scalping. After years of trading I think ichimoku is more helpful than other indicators to identify the trend. Ichimoku has many components but I don't like too many stuff on my screen so I just use clouds. Since I find this a better way of trading, thought I should say something about this nice piece of art If people want to learn all details about ichimoku, you can google "nicole elliott ichimoku charts" and download the pdf file... How I trade using ichimoku: First of all, I consider that the trend is UP when prices are above the Cloud, DOWN when prices are below the Cloud and FLAT when prices are in the Cloud. In other words, I go only long when prices are above the Cloud, go only short when prices are below the Cloud and do basically nothing when prices are in the Cloud. I use 2 charts: 4hour and 30min I use 4hour chart to see the trend and enter long-term trades I use 30mins to open positions Of course every extra information helps; trendlines, pattern formations etc... Here is an example: usd/chf: -breaks trendline, re-tests it, price is above the cloud. -i wait for entry on 30m chart (price should move above the cloud) the rest is patience...patience.......
