Point of Interest: This market today is most likely a one-way ticket to 1329.75 with a possible over-run to 1332 - 1333 ish area as previously noted..however.. "if" we rotate - low probability IMHO, then IBH 23.75 area would be a great place to see stops get taken ... and to consider taking a position if other tools confirm.. not a recommendation or anything of course.. Yes...... That is the high that it failed from on the retest on 7.21.11.. I was using 7.21 for a while but as we came up I switched back since I had nothing to reference up here... It doesn't change the Major Nodes since they go back to March 2009 but it will impact the Micro's... Tom

N: For the Micro I am using the 7.7.11 swing high 1341.25.. Hope that helps... I typically do not give them a lot of weight unless there is a confluence with the longer tern nodes..I often see the market pause at them, like now but they usually are not major.. I "anticipate" the 1326.00 node to be taken out... it also sets up possibilities for rotations, etc which is another topic but today I am holding since we have broken out of balance... Let me add that my next MajorCLVN is 33.25 with a microCLVN 32.75..so based on the theory.. That is a meaningful target.. not recommending anyone use these numbers. As you guys know I set my profiles up based on swings..so I go back to a recent swing high/low previous to the current swing... I combine the CUmulative Longterm nodes which are the real key targets along with an overlay of the Micro Nodes from the shorter term swing... I usually don't do much with them unless there is confluence with a longer term node.. However up here there isn't much to reference so I used that node to scale.. it is actually at 26.00. I always give the market 2 ticks in front of nodes... I've been left wat the alter too many times by a tick... :doh: Also on the MicroProfiles I have NVPOC's, etc.. which can help if the cumulative NVPOC is too far out of range... Tom

I did a refresh over here and it dropped down to 1322.50... Yikes However the volume build up there was key... it still behaved as if the VPOC shifted as noted the volume was very close... and it would have shifted or pushed off...result was the same..sorry for the inaccurate post on the shift.. Yep We are in thin air up here... I have 29.75 recent top and a CLVN 1333.25 , CHVN 35.75, CLVN38.50. I'm looking for 29.75 - 33.25 today but anything can happen.. I got my scale at 1125.00 actually had 25.50 and it ticked there so I bailed & Delta weakened a bit...... I have a MicroLVN @ 1326.00 so I try to exit 2 tics before... for a scale.. Regards, Tom

Sure will... SO far\ we are holding the upper distribution area..and the Delta is overall increasing since 9a... making higher/highs, higher/lows on the rotations..at least that's what I am observing over here at the moment.. I've got my helmet on.... Regards, Tom

Some resistence: BTW: There is a SIngle @ 1324.25..these can act as barriers, of course and the market may rotate off those. Some traders fade or scale against those... Tom

I always find the half hours interesting.. Today, so far we tested the IBH in G period - next? H... either will rotate further down or accelerate... that\ part is obvious but the clock ties in.. just an observation.. To clarify I am referring to more activity which can create Range Expansion - of course it doesn't have to... Tom

DVPOC..Currently the VPOC @ 1319.25... We are currently balancing in this upper distribution area... if it holds (?) we could see a DVPOC shift 1322.25 the current developing interday HVN..that will be VERY important if it happens...When that happens IMHO it indicates either the buyers were being absorbed by sellers or the sellers were being absorbed by buyers... It either will shut off buying and create further downside rotation or accelerate the upside... Regards, Tom

This is only a reference point for the read of the Profile.. I am long from further down.. I am targeting 29.75 area and potentially 33.00 ish as previously posted.. I will take some scales along the way if we get to my short term targets... Remeber, these are never recommendations, etc... I just want to help with the read of the profile.. If you look at the Profile currently you will see @ 9:37cst that it is trying to balance in that area of 1321.50 ..that is all I am saying... If we take that out then have to look at the next areas below.. Best, Tom

9:11:57 cst.. If any of you are watching MP VOlume Profiles you will see a "current" Low Volume area @ 1321.50.. This is a support area for rotation and also for taking a position... Just FYi.. if the market comes back and volume expands there then the buying activity is no longer present... These are not cast in stone - in fact they are dynamic. I look at them as they develop and they also have more meaning as more trade develops and they hold... The 1321.50 has the "potential" to become the bottom of a balance area... IMHO... I am not suggesting anyone take action there..it needs to be confirmed with other tools and you must be nimble if the market comes back and accepts that area... Hope this is helpful.. again just the way I personally read it... Others may see it differently.. Regards, Tom UPDATE 934:01cst.. I got long 1308.00 - always a bit late...we rotated to CLVN area 1306.50... so CHVN 1310. 50 still in play... I am looking to exit at 1310.00 for 2 pts and then carry a bit longer if we can take out 1310.50.. I am out of this one -1.25 per... Tom

Steve: Good way to play it..I am not long on this one but when I get a good location and suspect the crowd will be caught off-sides I will hold into the RTH close...Today will be interesting to see just how confident the shorts are... Yes..I had poted earlier that a rotation to the 1308.50 level for stops and then a rotation down..It also happened to coincide with the VWAP @ 1308.00 so nice set up for short... Patience pays... The rotation stopped at VPOC which suggests to me we will rotate higher... probably to CHVN 1310.50 ish as of 1:19cst Regards, Tom

I understand but you are more detailed than I am.. I know I don't know and I watch behavior / Delta around key areas along with other indications... I do not typically try to scalp against OTF unless we have a limited RE... not like today... I do expect the market to potentially test this low and the failed auction @ 1302.25 so I am waiting to get short as posted... I do not try too much to predict the market just identify the areas of interest to initiate positions... BTW Mdub posted the 1306.00 we just tested it 11:24 cst..might be a good number I still want to look for stops at IBL... to position... 1306.00 could be it also...don't know.. Good trading.. Tom

I was just about to post same... Now It will be intersting to see the rotation for potential continuation or at least scalps inside the lower developing distribution area.. IBL 1307.00 - 1308.50 ish is an area I will watch for stop raids and potential areas of interest... Of course no guarantee we will get there .. If we can get below that VPOC1302.50 it opens up some interesting possibilities for the downside.. BTW: 1302.50 is a big numer.. CHVN and NVPOC there so at least good for the potential LOD or at least a bounce... either way I will be on the short side from higher up if we get there 1306.00 is also an area but I prefer higher just t get some shorts squeezed.. Hopefully Mr. Market will cooperate... It is times like these when you exit at a target that at least I wonder if it will rotate & give me a chance to work a another position with OTF, however, the proabilites favor rotation - especially over lunch or when a major number has been hit.
