  1. Thanks Steve: Very interesting As far as time based do you use the Profile broken down into 5min bars inside one hour hour profiles or some configuration to slice & dice it to see distribution or VA development on a smaller timeframe? ... I saw similar setups as you posted however I do not have any nodes especially up above us.. right near the high of the day as we were approaching it.. I do have one there now after the fact.. and I do have some further up..Could you give me an idea what they are based on.. In addition could you comment on how you use T&S strip when we were at those areas...
  2. I am going to post this trade that I took...just for those of you who are following MP/VP..I wrote that there were 2 areas of support based on volume areas visible on the profile... 54.00 & 50.75ish... I did not take the inital 54.00 (to the tick) that went with a 56.00 target - it worked.. 14:15cst we one ticked the 54.00 area to 53.75 and quickly rejected it (Buyers Still Active there). I went long and scalped to 56.50... just a midget..not something I'd recommend since it was late in the day but the VP was speaking... I only got 1.5pts per contract but still pays a few bills..took 30min... Not exciting just a gind it out trade... This is something I have been working on...it is a confluence of volatility and reading volume .. BTW the volume is just at areas that you would see on a bar/candle chart..support in this case... I prefer the volume...it can sort out one support area from another... IMHO..

Cory: Please don't be offended but I am not a vendor nor did I think that by posting that I would be representing myself as a vendor/teacher, etc. I never expected to have what I do questioned as far as "proof"..etc. Why would it be in my interest to do that? I only posted so that those who have a market understanding built on these concepts would participate with me and also to show that there are tools and concepts worth exploring.. to show to those interested some of what I do as they do for me. After that - as N. said..."we all have to go on our own search.. If you are skeptical of any specific methodology you should avoid it... " Remember it is what works for you... None of us here are replicas of each other...none of us see the market exactly the same way - none of us use the same tools the same way -though there are often similarities with MP/VP and at the same time we can be completely on opposite sides of the equation..using the tools differently. Do you see what the real issue is? It's not what anyone else does..there is no answer..that is why Black Box systems sell so well and fail all the time... there is no turn-key answer.. Remember if there was just 1 successful training program that was replicable and could be executed successfully - we would all know about it and have attended it.. I know I would have and my trading education has cost many, many, many - get the point -Thousands of Dollars and years of dedication, persistance, frustration, losses, deadends, etc. ... The point being if there was a simplier way I would have gladly chosen that path.. I think we all would have.. Cory: I think you have to find the answers within...Find a methodology that is not at conflict with your logic - then you have to mold it to be yours..
  4. 1st rotation area..As of 1:19cst we just touched 54.00 my first VP mini-support for a rotation up.. This is a location I would not take for a continuation trade or just a rotation.. (too close to HOD/NVPOC - which was filled). The 50.00 - 50.75 ish area might be a different story depending what time we rotate there and how it smells when/if we do... If you look at VP you will see these fat balance areas where the market paused and where it was supported with little volume... those are the key areas to be tested IMHO...
  5. Well, I understand that if we could "call" a trade out in realtime, like a chat room, etc it would have much more value... Edit: Cory: There are plenty of vendors who offer what you are looking for... this, as far as I know, is for sharing ideas/concepts.. no a trading course. That type of trading education / realtime posting is impossible here given the technology and the way forums work... I certianly can't do that - I doubt anyone could - even you - if you think about it. Is it being done successfully in realtime here on TLab on other threads?
  6. :haha: Same here... I've been trying not to trade as much and hold for larger swings... but that has been difficult... so I have been tweaking using the tools I have to try to adjust my targets based on volatility and not just the VP targets... If I see a directional move I am using multiple timeframes to scale in & out on rotations..with the overall VP target objectives - the only time it's a problem is like today where there are very few rotations...I still had a good day just I have to get more aggressive as opossed to putting a position on and sitting back... (my preference) but days like yesterday and today are not common so I am making adjustments.. Trading rotations offers a lot of opportunity however it takes a lot of energy and focus which is harder to do than when I started 30 yrs ago...
  7. What's next? 1. Trend Day Up... (Freight Train) Hardly any rotation... , multiple singles, standing like a flag pole... 2. Primary Objective Hit: NVPOC 1356.25 ish... (Stops Cleared form Yesterday, etc..) 3. Next Obstacle: 1362.25 (HIgh Probability - at this time - not for today). 4. How to trade: a. Go on Vacation - easy $ made. b) Look for rotations with the trend to the balance areas below: We have 2: 54.00 (too close) & 50.75 ish.. 5. This market has achieved it's primary objective for today... It needs a rest - so do I.. :helloooo:
  8. Cory: Has what you read here helped you in expanding the possibilities based on your objectives?
  9. GOod call: 56.00 area is a NVPOC from the StoneAge... Who says VP doesn't work... ? BTW I weant flat against 52.50..I am looking for a deeper rotation to scalp but I had a shallow one just under the CLVN at 52.50 but I would have gotton back on board at 53.00 area so what's the point... (for now). Edit: On second thought scalping 3 pts to 56.00 NVPOC area might not have been such a bad idea? :crap:
  10. Cory: I can't speak for anyone else but I have put a lot into givng the basis of trades, locations targets, etc... the process behind it.. I hope it has been helpful... Also, it has taken a lot of my time and has at times conflicted with my primary job: trading.. Typing and describing what is happening in realtime with any depth is difficult to impossible at best... I have tried it but I'm not sure it has benifited anyone.. There are only several participants in this thread during the RTH session so I doubt my continuing my previous type of posting is worth the effort.. I did so it for about a month and I believe there was a suffucent amount of information to demonstarte how MP/VP can have a place in the toolbox, which was my intent. There are others here who also post - time permitting which is why I am here so I can pick up peals of wisdom from them.. I hope it continues to be benificial for you and others also...
  11. Is everything else working ok with it? Heard of any other outstanding issues? Tx
  12. MHVN 45.00 contained initial up move... It will come out of this consolidation soon... Edit... went flat B/E on last... monitoring... :missy:
  13. CLVN 41.50 tested... This may be only a bounce..too soon to know.. I went long against it scaled against 45.00 MCHVN and have stop B/E... Now to see what it has... :missy:
  14. Trading is like dancing..the market leads - I follow... (try not to get stepped on too often) BTW: CLVN 41.50..our old buddy right below..
  15. BTW for you MP/VP dwellers we just retreaced to the IBL & MicroLVN/Midpoint Area... 47.25 area.a typical retracement point... If you had gone long below you would have targeted that area... for a rotation/responsive buying.. Here is where it gets interesting... Is the selling over or will it ocntinue? Aside from rotation now around the lower balance area what is the dominate direction going to be after FOMC? ARe lows in or are we going to visit that 36.00 NVPOC area?
  16. Back up for air: What a neat day to trade... Aside now for FOMC... Hope all of you are doing ok... My helmet helped.. :crap:
  17. I tend to stay away from trading news.. It is an all or nothing proposition and technical levels are easily meaningless... I knit instead.. Edit: This is an observation only and you know the rest.. I am seeing selling setups... probably only for a responsive move in here somewhere and meaningless to todays devlopments so don't let this keep you from your appointeed duties... I hesitate to post this since I am wrong as anyone else..this is only in a short timeframe..just FYI... The offset to that is we held 50.50 on the break - an important area on GBX.. Big Picture: heading North possibly from this area..got to see how it sets-up... Capacity Utilization: /Industrial Prod.. 8:15cst..
  18. Some interesting levels: Our old friend @ 52.50 & a GBX SIngle @ 50.50 which held the break sroung 7:15cst... I am not suggesting these will hold this Areas of Interest BUt I am seeing "potential" for early responsive selling - too early to see from open - might get it sooner or already had it..How's that for stating a position... :missy: Edit: Above there is not much to lean on..I have 62.25 CHVN and then CHVN 70.75 & CLVN 72.50/ this last one is potential target for this swing.. not today but anythiing is possible - right...
  19. LOL.. :haha: That's why I have no sharp objects in my trading room...
  20. What a Fireworks display... Looks like they liked that CHVN 38.00 ... maybe we get to 47.50 - 52.50 on the upside... I covered my short I tooik off the rotation but did not get long... :crap: I can't switch gears that quick..also I would have taken a long but no rotation so  just enjoying the show... Edit: 2:59cst..Got a midget rotation ..did not take only a 2.5 pt pullbk after hitting 47.50 ...interesting to see these numbers in VP...
  21. Took scale @ 39.75 .2 ticks ahead of MicroNVPOC @ 39.25 and am now targeting 36.50ish..2 ticks ahead of NVPOC 36.00 Stop Trailing in case this is all it has.. Edit: 1:33cst... Got through 39.25... There is a CHVN @ 38.00 which can cause it to churn or that is it..don't know... other than 36.00 NVPOC then next meaningful CLVN is 31.00 area.. These are not necessarily for today.. though 36.00 might be... If/When we get through 31.00 the party will begin. IMHO..
  22. Sitting on the edge of the knife here... Have very short leash... Targeting 39.74, 36.50.. Can flip either way right here... IMHO
