Hi Tom - sorry, I'm still at work so I won't be able to call right now. Nice job with all your comments on the ES Daytrading Forum -- it's awesome to see you making use of MP to help form your trading decision.

By the way, thanks for your response to my questions. Yes, finding one trade setup is really all I need and then just be on the ready for when it occurs.

So what do you think of the AAPL earnings? How big will this move the market tomorrow? It will be interesting to see, for sure. I believe you had mentioned the potential for an upsurge, in one of your postings...CYP

  2. Hi Steve, Speaking of the importance of the Open, I remember you saying something regarding the Institutional Traders' tendency to work their trades to ensure they are making progress in the levels they look at. Specifically, you mentioned the idea of working towards the year-end bonus for institutional traders. So from a year-long perspective, that would entail a trading year from January until around October/early November where the institutions are trying to keep the prices above the January price. Then the slow unwind into the holiday season and then it all begins again in January. So, to bring it to the monthly and weekly timeframes, the institutions are looking to justify and support their openings, whether monthly, weekly, or daily. All the fluctuations are used towards the year end results. That's what I understood and remembered from your Institutional posting. Well, that, and the addition of the nightly market sessions and their affect on the next days open. I remember one of the guys trying to start a fight with you regarding DAX open times and things like that. Anyway, am I somewhat correct in my assessment? I'm trying to grasp all this information without being too over-loaded. Thanks again for all your posts. Regards, CYP (from San Diego)

I did - yes, my first name is Chhem by my friends call me "CYP", hence the nickname on TL. Sorry I missed you. I left to go grab a bite to eat. I will look at the videos by SoulTrader. Nice calls today by the way. Where did you get out with your last trade? I believe you had 2 long contracts towards the close...

  4. Hi Negotiator, What are your thoughts about a possible sell-off for next week? I know the late day rally looked good, but the charts are saying something different (imo). I see a possible changing of the guard upcoming. I've attached a chart show my reasoning. I'm by no means an expert chart reader, but it seemed like the buyers were losing steam, going into the weekend. The news of the EU downgrades may be a factor, but it seemed like the market had already accounted for it. So what's the catalyst that would drive the chart lower? Possibly a Greek default on the way? CYP
  5. Hi Carlton, please excuse my ignorance, but I'm trying to understand your risk:reward calculation. In order for you to win $150 by risking $100, I show a risk:reward ratio of 1:1.5 and not 1:5. If it was was 1:5, wouldn't that mean you are risking $100 in order to win $500? This is minor, but I want to make sure I have it correct regarding risk:reward statements. Thanks, CYP
  6. Steve - great posts (as many others have already stated). I've learned quite a bit. I wish I could have been part of your class. I know you have more knowledge to offer and I hope to see your return sooner than 18 months. -CYP
