CFD is a great solution for those who want to invest in commodities or even stock without the expense of a direct investment. The problem is that the spreads, liquidity and executions vary from each broker and this can affect your results. I found out that ECN brokers, which usually have better performance in forex trading, have the same advantage in CFD trading. I currently have two account at Alpari and Sunbirdfx, which both of them give great CFD trading experience.Good Luck !

Please, Help Me! Where Can I Find Profitable Forex Expert Advisor?
peterfx replied to termit's topic in Automated Trading
I am sorry to disappoint you but you will probably won't find any for free and even those that cost money are not really profitable. Successful EA developers keep their knowledge to themselves or raise funds but definitely don't give it to anyone that asks. Anyways, if you find one that you like, you got to use it in brokers that welcomes EA traders such as etoro or sunbirdfx. Otherwise it won't help you even if it is the bese EA in the world. -
There is not much of a difference between mt4 and currenex. Mt4 is a great platform and currenex is just too expensive ! I trade with mt4 but I try to make sure that it works with market execution and not instant execution.

I used to have an account with MBT for both forex trading and stock trading. I think it is a very decent broker, but its performance in forex trading is slow for a real ECN broker. So, if the speed of the system is not important for you, I would recommend this broker. I would also recommend for you to try Alpari UK, which is my prime broker and it is very fast. The minus there is the large deposit that they require, so if you look for smaller deposits (100$) try Sunbirdfx, which is a real ECN broker with great performance and customer service.

For me, the best forex broker has to be the quickest one, which means that my orders are sent to the market without delays or requotes. The broker has to be a real ECN STP broker that works directly with the real market. Another important issue is the spreads- I want to reduce the costs so 1.8 is the max spread I am willing to take (EUR/USD). Regardless to the performance of the broker, it has to have a great customer service and easy payment methods. When I try a new broker, I usually open 100$ account and try to withdrawal the money within few days. If I see any problems, I erase this broker from my mind and- there are no second chance in this matter. It took me years to find such a broker, mainly because it took the brokers too long to work according these standards. Finally I settled down at Alpari UK two years ago, and 5 month ago I started working with Sunbird fx as well. Very satisfied with both of them- each one has it is pros and cons… I suggest that you try their demo account before you open a live account. Good Luck

That is true, a real ECN broker does not have dealing desk and it sends the client's orders directly to the markets. This is a huge advantage comparing to market maker which sometimes trades against its own clients. I disagree with your second comment because with a real ECN you can enter the market any time (but not always in the price you ask- when spreads are widen) . Market maker on the other hand, is more often to send you requotes because it has fix prices and it cannot supply when the market is too volatile. As I said, there are many brokers that considered as ECNs but they are not really ECN brokers- just a gimmick. From my experience, I found out that, sunbird fx and Alpari are real ECN brokers, also I know that Sunbird has mirror trader, anyways, try a demo account first when you try any new broker. Good Luck..

I like MB trading for stocks trading, in which they are very good, but for forex-trading they are too slow for me. Alpari is my favorite forex-broker and I recently started checking sunbird fx demo because I read good reviews about the performance of this broker. So far, it is as fast as they say, but it don't have a live account yet..

What's easier to do - consistent profits or spikes?
peterfx replied to brownsfan019's topic in Trading Psychology
Obviously, the answer is that the most difficult thing is to create constant profits. This should be the trader's main goal, without considering the amount of money he earns (at least not in the beginning). I agree the psychology is the most important element in trading and the human nature is the reason why most of the accounts look like a "roller coaster". Try to earn just few dollars for 3-4 months in a row, and grow from there. -
CFD trading allows you to trade commodities and metals without the expenses of trading in the real commodities market. However, many brokers who offer CFD trading makes it really expensive (wide spreads) and lose the advantage of the CFD. To avoid such brokers, I would suggest only ECN brokers such as etoro, Sunbirdfx or Alpari UK. These brokers welcome CFD traders and do not have any restrictions…maybe you should try a demo account first before you open a live account for CFD trading

I can tell you from my own experience that I love trading so much that I can even enjoy it when I lose money- but this just me. Do give up, try trading a demo account or live account with min sizes. I don't think the developing your own strategy is the best thing for you now. Try to find a successful trader or a group of traders and stick with them. Learn how they win the market and adjust their methods. If you do that, your balance should improve and you find trading enjoyable and exited. Hope you succeed…
