  1. Good god... what fun... taking the rest of the week off.
  2. True enough. Trading does require an honest assessment. The requirement resides in honesty and being true. It's so easy to tell lies... for a time. Keeping records keeps you honest,
  3. I did keep a journal when starting out... about a 18 months worth. The journal included notes about the market, my attitude, things I did wrong... how well I executed. It also included marked up charts with notes about trades and entries. It was a time consuming task, but one that I found valuable in learning to deal with all the stupid crap you do as a noob. There were some days, after getting cut to ribbons, that it was difficult to stay objective, but you learn more from those days than the good days. For me... taking the time to write caused me to actually look at what went wrong. Better that than just saying..."piss on it"... then going off to soak my head in a bottle of scotch. (ha) I often did that too, but only after the journal entry.
  4. As far as I know... I have no magnetism in my fingers (honestly). LOL... my mojo is working. It is true that a coin flip is not random... few things in the physical world are. Unless you are a professional coin flipper... it pretty much qualifies as random though. Would you be a professional coin flipper? Sounds like you've considered it to some detail.
  5. Interesting observation. It always feels better to win than to lose... dumb luck, or not. We all love winning streaks, even if there is no skill involved. Flip a coin 100 times, and the odds are very good that there will be a series of flips that come up heads each time... five, six, seven times in a row. There is some fascination with the event, and the longer the streak continues the more you hope for the next flip to be heads. I was sorry to see the streak end, and sorry that it happened on my toss, because winning is more fun than losing. Agreed?
  6. I've heard the phrase..."he ran out of luck". You never run out of "good"... good is enduring... it's there through all seasons. Work at good, and be willing to admit that sometimes you were lucky. Ben Hogan said... "the harder I work; the luckier I get. True dat.
  7. Really... I don't know what to say to that. I flipped the coin and made an entry because it seemed like a fun diversion, and that Mystic was asking for volunteers. True... I don't place much value on such "projects" (if one could call it that). It was my understanding that this was purely entertainment. To Mystic: if I've said anything that offended you, I apologize... it was unintended.
  8. None of the above... it's a coin toss. Anyone who believes in " (bad) vibrations, (bad) magnetism, or (bad) luck" should find another occupation.
  9. Shoot!!!!... the first loser. I'm consoled by a really good day in the world of reality. Sorry to be the first to break the the streak though... would've been fun to see a fourth day in the black.
  10. Random can be humbling... we shall see how this turns out. I once did an experiment were I traded from the left side of the screen... in a trending market everyone looks like a genius. Sometimes we are our worst enemies... get the trade on, and manage the trade has become my philosophy.
  11. Quoting myself... that sucks. Take the trade against the coin flip... that would be interesting. Best of good fortunes.
  12. Taking this far too seriously... Flip the coin... dumb fcking stupid as this is... see how it turns out (won't prove a thing). Ya'll are way too serious.
  13. Wait... I had 7/25... tails / sell. You can move one of us to 7/26... like it will really make a difference.
  14. Well, this is just stupid... flippin da coin: Tails / Sell 7/25
  15. Just guessing, bit I see a dislocated shoulder and a head injury. Who knows what happened next. Ouch!!!
  16. Dang... I stopped arguing with the bulls a couple of years ago... some folks never catch on.
  17. Alright, cutting myself loose from the thread. I've said all I wanted. Really, best of good fortune to you.
  18. If seemed to you that I was piling on… not the case. There really is no need for all the name calling. I may have been a bit blunt with my reply, and for that I would apologize. Now that you've blasted TL and it's patrons, I suppose it's time to move on… best of good fortunes to you. Oh yes, and just for the record: It is possible to make a decent living trading a single contract; kinda have to know what you're doing though.
  19. You've posted about trading a single contract, and being satisfied with making a meager living (keeping it simple). There are people on this site who make a decent living, support their family, and have a satisfying career. If you want to throw in the towel over a few critical words then... stop posting. You wont be missed.
  20. I got roped into a shopping trip to The World Market today. It's kind of like Pier 1 Imports with specialty food items thrown in. I stumbled across a pudding product... the amusement made the whole trip worthwhile. How could you drag this stuff up to the checkout with a straight face? "Yea, gonna have some S______ D____ tonight". "Yea, I like S______ D____".
  21. This thread as been dormant for some time. Ran across this broadcast from "Radiolab" about "emergence"... kinda cool stuff. Radiolab... always entertaining: REBROADCAST: Emergence - Radiolab
  22. If the impulse to daring and bravery is too fierce and violent, stay it with guidance and instruction. Xun Zi Trading professionally is about managing risk; not such a romantic notion as bravery. Fully understand the downside risk of any trade, and there should be no need for bravery. If you still need bravery, then you shouldn't be in the trade. Fear of losing is natural, but losing is a part of trading; one needs to be able to take a loss and move on. Rather than trying to overcome fear with bravery, embrace losing as part of the cost of doing business.
