Point and Figure is briallint in my opinion. TraderPro by Updata draws these beautifully along with adding the vertical targets and horizontal trend lines automatically. Not free but not too shabby hey http://www.fxstreet.com/webinars/sessions/session.aspx?id=9e70e1f7-a8ba-4b9c-bae6-c914e94e9257

Jeremy du Plessis, author of The Definitive Guide to Point & Figure, reently took part in a live webinar on FXStreet.com's The Traders Bookshelf: http://www.fxstreet.com/webinars/sessions/session.aspx?id=9e70e1f7-a8ba-4b9c-bae6-c914e94e9257 The webinar opened with a short introduction to Jeremy's book which was described by the shows host, Gonçalo Moreira, as a masterpiece. The book has been added to FXStreet.com’s selection of ‘books that provide the best value for currency traders’. The webinar then went into a 45 minute live Point & Figure charting session on the currency market using Updata's technical analysis software. This webinar will be beneficial to traders who are interested in Point & Figure and using P & F charting methods for their FX trading. The methods can be applied to other markets ofcourse. Really good webinar all in all. Chartist Lion

I prefer looking at Ichimoku Charts. I'm currently reading the Cloud Charts book by David Linton. Has given me a lot more insight on the subject: http://www.cloudcharts.com/pdf/cloudcharts.pdf -

HTCs are cool phones. What operating system are you going for - Windows 7 or Android? I've got a windows phone, it's nice and powerful but not very many apps are built for windows phones, it's quite disappointing actually. You always seem to get these e-brokers/trading platforms/charting software providers offering Android/Blackberry/i-Phone apps, very rarely would you find windows on the list. So make sure you do your research before you get a smartphone. With news however..wont be much trouble appwise.

Charting Tools Comparable to Bloomberg's?
ChartistLion replied to friva's topic in Tools of the Trade
Hi friva, Have you tried Updata Professional or Updata TraderPro. TraderPro is more for the private investor but it is a very powerful charting software. Interesting to note that quite a lot of trading houses have Updata's TA software (Professional) hooked up to their bloomberg terminals so they can get bloombergs data feed going directly into Updata in order to do their TA. TraderPro is affordable and there are different versions with their own feeds or you can use a third party data feed. I'd be happy to provide you with a copy and show you around this software if you wish. Just PM me. Best regards, Chartist Lion- 15 replies

Which is the Best Software for Point&Figure Chart
ChartistLion replied to sharehunter's topic in Tools of the Trade
Hi Sharehunter, Updata TraderPro would be your best bet. I don't think there's any software out there which is as powerful when it comes to P&F charting (afterall, one of the developers is Jeremy du Plessis who is highly renowned in the P&F charting community). You have an option for varied or fixed box sizes among many other things. Please let me know if you'd like to try this software and I can get a free trial sent out to you (could also show you how to do this online once you install TraderPro). Feel free to PM me your email. Best regards, Chartist Lion
