  1. i read that insiders can hide volume by using something called 'dark pools.' what exactly are dark pools, and how do we counter this trick? Thanks
  2. barchart is free and simple with a pretty cool feature called flip charts Commodity, stock, forex price quotes, charts, and technical analysis.
  3. you can email him at the address below. it took a few days to get a response, but it is well worth the wait. The sections on supply/demand and price/volume are 'priceless.' good luck! dbsburrow@yahoo.com
  4. it's like a giant ponzi scheme perpetuated by the gov't and fed bailouts
  5. I try to jump on my schwinn airdyne 2-3 times a week. it's a great all-around full-body exercise. i like it cause i don't have to mess with weights or different routines, like the P90X that my son uses. so if you're looking for something simple and effective, check it out http://www.amazon.com/Schwinn-Airdyne-Upright-Exercise-Bike/dp/B000E158CK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1298843701&sr=1-1
  6. will do. just finished Tape reading and market tactics by Humphrey; it was ok. Currently reading Techniques of Tape reading by Graifer and DbPhoenix's ebook, both of which are excellent :-)
  7. are they going to look like these: http://www.digitalstormonline.com/compblackops.asp they overclock to 5 GHZ!
  8. hello folks. total noob here- you guys are all gurus in my eyes! still reading, absorbing information & trying to put together a system before paper trading (stocks) in a couple of months. i've decided to start my 16 y.o. son on the adventure with me. even though i've read more than him, he seems to understand the concepts better (it's funny how the kids run circles around me). we're focused right now on candlesticks, chart patterns and price/volume. so much to learn!
  9. that's a mighty long list. good thing i'm stuck on number one ;-)
  10. synthesizers, photography, math tutoring, foosball, dreamcast & now technical analysis
  11. hmm, this was on my short list of future books to read, but after reading all these comments i think i'll move it to the end of the list. i appreciate all the intelligent responses; i'm glad i joined this forum :-)
