  1. This book is extremely undervalued and should be added to the list of must read's right next to Reminiscences and Market Wizards. This narrative of Marty "Buzzy" Schwartz is incredibly detailed and goes through how he got started, his struggles, becoming a Champion day trader, and his further struggles in spite of his success. Great book, and easy read.
  2. I've used a handful of brokers, the one that stood out the most was Infinity Futures. As close to TT as you can get without the $1500/mo, here's a free demo ( URL Deleted by Moderator ) Cunningham is a good clearing firm.
  3. I thought it'd be beneficial to share some of our trading backgrounds and how we got to wher we are today. I trade S&P Futures and the Euro/Dollar, but it's been quite a journey that began with basic psychology 101. I've shared more of my story here URL Deleted by Moderator. What's your trading story?
  4. I'd try 3:00AM EST to 11:30 EST for the EUro 6E because that would coincide with the European cash session.
  5. thinkorswim has a new market profile study that you can use on multiple timeframes, both volume and TPO method.
  6. I disagree, if you trade the ES and 6E the highest probability times to trade are 10:00-11:30 EST (Euro closes @11:30). At the open I look at MP to see whether or not we are opening within or outside of value. If you're trading the 80% rule then you just need 30-mins of price action to determine whether or not the markets are likely to trade though value or not. I do agree with raja though, even if you only trade a couple hrs of the day, there's a lot that goes on behind the scenes. I trade the Euro open & NYSE open.
  7. Thanks SoulTrader, understanding human behavior is so much more important understanding economics when it comes the market will react. Crowds are predictible, individuals are not.
  8. Ya Mind over Markets is where it's at for MP. Here's some other's that offer some great insight ( URL Deleted by Moderator ) MP is not looked at nearly as much as you would think. From a pit trader's perspective it's a great way to trade.
  9. Steve, I use the ShadowTrader Swing trader newsletter to get MP #s. It's free, just google shadowtrader. It's also pretty easy to calculate yourself. Just put the ES on a 30-min chart and number the left column in point increments, then after each 30-min bar closes put a letter in the corresponding column. By the end of the day you will see a profile chart. Here's an example TechSmith | Screencast.com, online video sharing, 2011-02-06_1724 I can send you that excel template I made if you want too.
  10. Appreciate the honestly, CQG is a very good platform.
  11. Hi I'm Tim, a Chicagoland native and full time trader as of October 2009. I trade the E-mini S&P & Euro Futures. I am a competitive mountain biker, entrepreneur, and graduate of Arizona State University.

I can be found at my blog EminiMind on Twitter and at Facebook.com/EminiMind. Thanks for visiting my profile, I'd love to hear from you!

  12. Hi Matt, what is your comparison of Optimus vs. TT or Infinity Futures. Thanks. -- Tim Racette EminiMind.com
  13. I'd have to agree with that. I've tracked the profitability of my trades over the years for all times of the day and for ES and 6E trading 3-5a EST and 8-11:30a EST I've found to be the highest probability times to trade.
