Very interesting thread! Ingot, I am sure there are a lot of traders who could benefit from a little insight. Problem is, the ones who need it most ( losing money ) can least justify the expense. As for your suggestion that Rande trade a DEMO Acct, we all know that trading demo does not come close to the emotional level of trading real money. Rande has earned his LPC, so it's probaby safe to say that he has paid his dues. I am pasting from Wekipedia only part of what's involved in obtaing an LPC: LPC (or variation, i.e. LCPC, LMHC, etc.) licensure is recognized in 50 states in the United States, as well as the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico.[1] The requirements vary from one jurisdiction to the next. Please review the National Board for Certified Counselors website for your state or jurisdiction's information:[2] Included below is a summary of requirements found in the state of Texas LPC board as an example.[3] (Your state or jurisdiction's website will look different) "A master's degree or doctoral degree in counseling or a related field. 1. Academic course work in each of the following areas: normal human growth and development; abnormal human behavior; appraisal or assessment techniques; counseling theories; counseling methods or techniques (individual and group); research; lifestyle and career development; social, cultural and family issues; and professional orientation. 2. As part of the graduate program, a supervised practicum experience that is primarily counseling in nature. The practicum should be at least 300 clock-hours with at least 100 clock-hours of direct client contact. Academic credit for the practicum must appear on the applicant's transcript. 3. After completion of the graduate degree and before application, an applicant must take and pass the National Counselor Exam and the Texas Jurisprudence Exam. After receiving a temporary LPC license from the board, the applicant may begin the supervised post-graduate counseling experience (internship). 3000 clock-hours with at least 1,500 being direct client contact of internship under the supervision of a board-approved supervisor is required. The 3000 clock-hours may not be completed in a time period of less than 18 months." Clock hours and contact hours with clients needed to obtain licensure vary by state. Other states, Oklahoma for example, require a 60-hour degree (versus the traditional 48-hour degree), and mandate at least 300 hours of internship prior to graduation OK Dept of Health The model of the LPC is based upon the United States model for the regulation of professions. Each state is granted the privilege to regulate whom may practice a particular profession and what the rights and responsibilities associated with that profession are. In most other countries, the Ministry of Education provides the authority to universities to grant licensure or a licenciatura upon completion of university studies. In these European-based regulation models, a license is granted for perpetuity and does not require renewal as is typical in the United States.

If you are new to Forex, or just new to MT4 I have put together a short introduction to MT4. Basically showing how to set up Charts, add custom indicators and place an order. If you have any questions, or have something you would like me to cover, post your questions here on the thread, #1 http://goview.com/?id=b0e4abf0-f0c0-4fe5-8c61-50fc797e00da #2 http://goview.com/?id=9ebf6695-73c7-4050-8a88-09ebfbf1aa11

Right. It's not working on "QR" We are looking into it.

On Friday we had some downward movement as the Markets absorbed the news of the unemoloyment rate dropping to 8.9 No follow thru though. We did break my 1HR TL and made some pips, then encountered some strong support where I have the small rectangle. My 4 HR TL is right over the Weekly Pivot, So I do expect an attempt at it. If I re enter short, my target area would still be the 16100 area. Overall I am bBullish GBP/USD as it is expected the BOE will raise rates before the USD. This is just a slight correction.

What is a currency pair? It is two currencies that are traded against each other. The most common pairs are known as the Majors. they are, British Pound (GBP), Euro (EUR), Japanese Yen (JPY), Swiss Franc (CHF), and US Dollar (USD), the currencies in which most of the world's foreign transactions are denominated and against which the value of a local currency is measured. Then there are what is known as "The Crosses", an example of which would be EUR/TRY Euro vs Turkish Lira.

This is turning into a trip down memory lane. I saw Simon and Garfunkel Live in Central Park early 70s. They finished with "Sounds of Silence" done A Cappella.

We are now down to the 1 hour TL... Abounce or a break?
-
800 SMA hit on 5 min, lets see if we make a move for the TL on the 1 hour.
-
GBP/USD is more than 1 standard deviations away from the 800 SMA on the 5 M and the 1 Hr charts. I would like to enter short on a candle close below the TL on the 5 min chart. If we do not get a break below the DP I will exit. Possible TP is the 800 SMA on the 5 M, or the support on the 1 hour chart. On the 1 hour chart we have Bearish divergence. and a support TL. A close below that TL would mean a TP at the 800 SMA on the 1 hour chart. Of course the catalyst for the 1 hour playing out will probably be NFP. Here are the Charts:

Welcome Arthur, You have just taken the first step down a long, long road. First, what will you be trading? Futures, Forex, Options? Down load a DEMO account platform and learn how it operates. Start getting a "Feel" for whatever market you plan on trading. When you have questions, ASK!

It's been driving me nuts too. :crap: 2 weeks ago I shorted @ 1019x, looking for 9900. grabbed 50 pips ( I had moved my stop to +50 ). A/U has never been a fast mover, but seems a little range bound.

Ingot54, You date yourself. We must be about the same age. Dan Fogelberg was very cool. I was never into Country, but I didn't realise how much I liked Johnny Cash untill he passed away. [ame= ]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmVAWKfJ4Go&feature=fvst[/ame]
