  1. Todds, I mean what prompted you to take the trade? Was it rejection at the line that subsequently became a "Quad" Top?
  2. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zxpCkuiL0Y&feature=autoplay&list=PLAF09B87BC7C1C221&index=10&playnext=3]YouTube - I'm an Equity Trader[/ame]
  3. Todds, Looks very inticing to me. what TP are you seeing? I like the Weekly Pivot, as yet not hit, or , the 800 SMA about 12 pips above the weekly pivot. So far south you can't see either on the 15M chart. What do you use for entry?
  4. This is a true story. None of the names have been changed. My very first trade: When I first started trading Forex in late 2005, I was unteachable. After owning and operating my own business for 15 years, I thought I knew it all. My very first trade was Long EUR/USD. Having recently returned from Europe, I remember it costing a lot to exchange my $$$ for Euros. I figured the Euro must be hot. Now, at this point in my Forex career I had decided I was going to be a Fundamentals trader. None of that technical crap for me. I had heard of charts, but, I had never actually looked at one. My $10K account lasted about 3-4 weeks. 2006: I had decided that my 2005 venture had been under capitalised. With a fresh infusion of cash it was once more into the breach! Oh, and maybe I should look into those chart thingies. By the end of 2006 I had a loss of about $30K. 2007: Yes, I am a slow learner, but tenacious as a Pit Bull on a Pork Chop. I really applied myself. Learned some basic systems, learned M/M, R/R, starting using Stop Losses, got a Mentor. Had a break even year. 2008: This was my break though year. I recouped all my losses. I was also showing a tidy profit for the year. At this point I had 5 accounts with 5 different brokers. One of them I never used, it was my very first broker that I had margin called on a few times. I had $2.49 in the account. In December of 2008 I received an email from them informing me of their "King of The Mini" contest. All one needed was an account with $500 or more to be automatically entered. The contest ran for a month, and first prize was $25K. I realised as soon as I read the Email that I harboured a grudge against this broker for taking all my money when I was first starting out. Inwardly I smiled as I thought about how " I would show them". I deposited the necessary $498.00 and waited for the contest to start at the beginning of the year. The first trading day of the year arrived and it was off to the races. I traded my ass off on this account. The month came to a close, I had realised an increase of 104% . . . . and, I didn't even finish in the top 10. ( Wa, Wa, Wa, Waahhh... ). But ! I now had another account with $1K in it, nothing to sneeze at. I had an incredible ride with that account, ups and downs, for the rest of the year. I might be persuaded to tell what happened next.........
  5. Jaysmith, Have you been burned by the Markets? I went though a period of being afraid to "pull the trigger" after suffering some large losses. If you believe in the methodology you are using, it should pass. As Tradewinds suggests, let your system do the thinking for you.
  6. Here is something I will be following with great interest today. GBP/JPY is extended well beyond 1 std Deviation from the 800 SMA I will short on a candle close below the TL on the 15 Min TF. The TP is over 400 pips away, SL is 14000 + spread... Nice R/R. Here's the chart:
  7. I am not too familiar with Ninja yet. I know on MT4 you sometimes need to accumulate "History" for things to set correctly. On MT4, repeatedly hit the "Home" key.
  8. Just curious, what do you find strange?
  9. If you saw the movie "Man on Fire", you may remember this one.
  10. I prefer simple over complex. Whatever route you decide to go, following the rules of said system are what's important.
  11. No, there is no connection to me. Just set up a demo account (not their MT4, I don't think it's linked to the contests yet). When I set up the contest, I will post a link to join on the thread.
  12. Good reminder - thanks. If you're daytrading don't forget it since it could catch you in a very bad way -- my rule is to always exit 5 minutes before, and not to trade it usually until 15 minutes after unless the reaction seems muted - then I might push that up to as early as 5 minutes after. If it's volatile I wait. And is it me or does it seem like everything trades really funky the morning of the FOMC?
  13. The HMA employs weighted moving averages and dampens the smoothing effect. Ninja Trader comes with it.
  14. FWIW: Here's how the trade ended that Rob entered during the Webinar:
  15. certenotti, You want your "Username" changed? What would you like it changed to?
  16. I'm curious to know how many of us use Twitter, and how they use it. To be honest, I have had a Twitter account for about a year but never used it. Only recently, since becoming a member here at TL, have I started using it. I've discovered it's useful on a variety of levels. I don't use it on my phone, I use a Desk Top application. For instance, have a favorite sports team? follow them on Twitter and get the latest news. Follow popular News sources etc. For instance, I am now following CNBC, WSJ, DOW JONES, and Reuters. A couple of Blogs I follow I now "Follow Them On Twitter" and am notified immediately when they are updated. You get the idea. So, do you use Twitter? Who do you Follow? And, do you ever "Tweet"?
  17. Ingot, Yes, I have just written it down. BTW... were you Long or Short?
  18. Found this on "The Mayo Clinic" website: Want to feel better, have more energy and perhaps even live longer? Look no further than old-fashioned exercise. The merits of regular physical activity — from preventing chronic health conditions to promoting weight loss and better sleep — are hard to ignore. And the benefits are yours for the taking, regardless of age, sex or physical ability. Need more convincing? Check out seven specific ways exercise can improve your life. 1. Exercise improves your mood. Need to blow off some steam after a stressful day? A workout at the gym or a brisk 30-minute walk can help you calm down. Physical activity stimulates various brain chemicals that may leave you feeling happier and more relaxed than you were before you worked out. You'll also look better and feel better when you exercise regularly, which can boost your confidence and improve your self-esteem. Regular physical activity can even help prevent depression. 2. Exercise combats chronic diseases. Worried about heart disease? Hoping to prevent osteoporosis? Physical activity might be the ticket. Regular physical activity can help you prevent — or manage — high blood pressure. Your cholesterol will benefit, too. Regular physical activity boosts high-density lipoprotein (HDL), or "good," cholesterol while decreasing triglycerides. This one-two punch keeps your blood flowing smoothly by lowering the buildup of plaques in your arteries. And there's more. Regular physical activity can help you prevent type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis and certain types of cancer. 3. Exercise helps you manage your weight. Want to drop those excess pounds? Trade some couch time for walking or other physical activities. This one's a no-brainer. When you engage in physical activity, you burn calories. The more intense the activity, the more calories you burn — and the easier it is to keep your weight under control. You don't even need to set aside major chunks of time for working out. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Walk during your lunch break. Do jumping jacks during commercials. Better yet, turn off the TV and take a brisk walk. Dedicated workouts are great, but physical activity you accumulate throughout the day helps you burn calories, too. 4. Exercise boosts your energy level. Winded by grocery shopping or household chores? Don't throw in the towel. Regular physical activity can leave you breathing easier. Physical activity delivers oxygen and nutrients to your tissues. In fact, regular physical activity helps your entire cardiovascular system — the circulation of blood through your heart and blood vessels — work more efficiently. Big deal? You bet! When your heart and lungs work more efficiently, you'll have more energy to do the things you enjoy. 5. Exercise promotes better sleep. Struggling to fall asleep? Or stay asleep? It might help to boost your physical activity during the day. A good night's sleep can improve your concentration, productivity and mood. And you guessed it — physical activity is sometimes the key to better sleep. Regular physical activity can help you fall asleep faster and deepen your sleep. There's a caveat, however. If you exercise too close to bedtime, you may be too energized to fall asleep. If you're having trouble sleeping, you might want to exercise earlier in the day. 6. Exercise can put the spark back into your sex life. Are you too tired to have sex? Or feeling too out of shape to enjoy physical intimacy? Physical activity to the rescue. Regular physical activity can leave you feeling energized and looking better, which may have a positive effect on your sex life. But there's more to it than that. Regular physical activity can lead to enhanced arousal for women, and men who exercise regularly are less likely to have problems with erectile dysfunction than are men who don't exercise — especially as they get older. 7. Exercise can be — gasp — fun! Wondering what to do on a Saturday afternoon? Looking for an activity that suits the entire family? Get physical! Physical activity doesn't have to be drudgery. Take a ballroom dancing class. Check out a local climbing wall or hiking trail. Push your kids on the swings or climb with them on the jungle gym. Plan a neighborhood kickball or touch football game. Find a physical activity you enjoy, and go for it. If you get bored, try something new. If you're moving, it counts! Are you convinced? Good. Start reaping the benefits of regular physical activity today!
  19. Agree with MM on this. Without cost, there is no perceived value.
  20. Yes at the Fillmore East in Greenwich Village. Jim was not at his best that night though, staggering on stage and slurring lyrics.

Target hit on the 5M TF. Basically broke even with what I lost on the first entry. There is a short signal now on the 15M as well, so I have left open a small pos. TP is the Weekly Pivot, @10166 which is just above a lager TF trend LineHere are the charts:
