Your statement on hedging is incorrect. this is copied directly from their site. I couldn't find any information that would lead me to believe one could circumvent FIFO either ( first in first out ). MB Trading - Stocks Options Futures Forex Online Discount Trading

Trading - My Beginning and Conclusion
Mysticforex replied to cyberbob222's topic in Day Trading and Scalping
Besides finding it mentally stimulating, there is a lot to be said for not having to deal with customers, employees, withholding tax, sales tax, and the vagaries of weather. ( Probably don't sell a lot of dougnuts in a snow storm ). -
In France, the pollsters projections of a Hollande win over Sarkozy proved accurate. Should their prediction of a six to ten point victory in the run-off on May 6th again prove correct, France will have a new leader, and German Chancellor Angelo Merkel will be challenged to find another stanch austerity supporter to replace Sarkozy. What has yet to be determined is weather this was a Hollande victory or merely a rejection of Sarkozy, whose term began one year prior to the financial collapse of 2008?

Watching GBP/JPY... it has now recovered all the ground lost since this AMs drop on news. I have a line on my chart that is several years old. Truth be told I don't remember why I first put it there. 13183. Above or below the line usually signals a game change for gbp/jpy ( I am rounding up to 13200 for simplicity ). A close above and I will shift from nuetral to bullish on G/J.

BTW... speaking of brokers... Have you looked at Oanda's new FXUnity?? -
An American is walking down the street when he sees a Polak with a very long pole and a yardstick. He's standing the pole on its end and trying to reach the top of it with his yardstick. Seeing the Polak's ignorance, the American wrenches the pole out of his hand, lays it on the sidewalk, measures it with the yardstick, and says, "There! 10 feet long." The Polak grabs the yardstick and shouts, "You idiot American! I don't care how long it is! I want to know how high it is!"

Total Number of Active US Forex Accounts
Mysticforex replied to Obsidian's topic in Brokers and Data Feeds
It's part of Dodd-Frank new transparency requirements. I think they have to report every quarter. I am sure FXClub does not enjoy making public that only 27% of their account holders are profitable. Which begs the question: Why does Oanda have more profitable accts than FXClub? Tighter spread? Faster execution? etc. Are savvy, more experienced retail traders drawn to brokers like Oanda and GFT? -
Yes ! and so is My Wife !:rofl::rofl:

What I find more significant than the number of accounts held by each broker, is the percentage of profitable accounts in each broker. -
First Class Blonde. A plane is on its way to Detroit when a blonde woman in economy class gets up and moves into an open seat in the first class section. The flight attendant watches her do this, and politely informs the woman that she must sit in economy class because that's the type of ticket she paid for. The blonde replies, "I'm blonde, I'm beautiful, I'm going to Detroit and I'm staying right here." After repeated attempts and no success at convincing the woman to move, the flight attendant goes into the cockpit and informs the pilot and co-piolet that there's a blonde bimbo sitting in first class who refuses to go back to her proper seat. The co-pilot goes back to the woman and explains why she needs to move, but once again the woman replies by saying, "I'm blonde, I'm beatiful, I'm going to Detroit and I'm staying right here." The co-pilot returns to the cockpit and suggests that perhaps they should have the arrival gate call the police and have the woman arrested when they land. The pilot says, "You say she's blonde? I'll handle this. I'm married to a blonde. I speak blonde." He goes back to the woman and whispers quietly in her ear, and she says, "Oh, I'm sorry," then quickly moves back to her seat in economy class. The flight attendant and co-pilot are amazed and ask him what he said to get her to move back to economy without causing any fuss. "I told her first class isn't going to Detroit."

Trading - My Beginning and Conclusion
Mysticforex replied to cyberbob222's topic in Day Trading and Scalping
Speaking for myself, I am not offended. I found it interesting, and yes, a little amusing ( no offense intended ) hearing from someone with 2 weeks experience. I hope you endure my friend, I would like to hear your opinions in 2 months, and then again in 2 years. -
COT: Specs added about 13K contracts of net longs to the A$. Much of the increase in the net long was effected by reducing their short positions. Market action since the end of the report have not helped the longs.

Agree, I am a technical trader. I have found that if you have say, a short bias, and a news release sends price in the opposite direction, it is just delaying your analysis from playing out.

There was an excellent article today, Avoiding the Euro Trap Zone by Andy Xie. The entire article is a good read, but I wish to touch some of the major points. Mr Xie who was the former Chief Economist for Morgan Stanley in the Asia Pacific from 1997 to 2006 said: "Europe's problems are its own making and no amount of Chinese assistance will end the crisis.........China Shouldn't Get Involved...
