I started the contest for October. I was concerned that by just hitting the "Repeat" button it may exclude new contestants from joining. So even if you are in the Septber contest you still have to join the October contest. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Price Alerts - Awesomely Useful or Just Rubbish?

I have used price alerts in the past with forex. Usually when price is approaching my TP. It's very aggravating when price gets to within pips of my TP only to do a reversal. Sometimes I use them to alert me to a pair reaching a key level. Not to signal a trade, but so I can monitor it's behavior at this level. The alerts I use are provided free by one of my brokers and sent via SMS. I have found them to be very reliable. -
Given the recent US Dollar sell off with unlimited QE for the foreseeable future, do you feel collapse is around the corner? Three options.

I'm as greedy as the next person, Thinking about it now it was probably a matter of size. I was using 1 standard of per side. If I had been using say 5 lots per side, for about $800 or so aweek I would have gooten over the cheating feeling.

The only one I know well enough to administer is Oanda. If you or anyone else knows a platform well enough to host a contest that's fine as well.

Sorry, not really addressing your question. It reminds me of when someone turned me on to something we called "The HedgeHog". In 2008 my broker was paying 2.8 pips a day for a long position on GBP/JPY, 7 days a week, 365 a year. Someone told me about opening an acct with a "non interest" broker. Short with the "non interest" broker, long with the interest paying broker . Set TP an SL accordingly ( both positions close out together ). I did it for about 4 months . The hardest part was the bank wires to even out the accts when they closed. After bank wire fees it came out to about $160 a week. Call me stupid, but I stopped because it felt like cheating. I wouldn't mind a real return of a "Carry Trade".

I've been to few in the past. Alway's found something of interest , though most of it is hype. The dessert of Vegas holds no allure for. me. If it were being held near a coastal city I would consider going.

I give it some thought. Most people have at least learned to use the platform. I will have to find out if Oanda WiLL allow contests with "Real" money: Maybe I can talk one of my friends inti shelling up some prize money
