You wrote this as a joke ... right? America has 89 guns for every 100 people ... Harold Meyerson: Why does America have way more guns? - The Washington Post I am not trying to convince anyone of anything - we already have our bias fairly heavily set on this. No one reads the links or tries to understand the other point of view anyway ... so it's a line drawn in the sand and we all take our sides. But I would like to know: "How many guns are enough?" If 89 per 100 people is not enough ... (and still 575 people are dying by the gun each week) ... then how many guns does it take for death-by-gun to cease? Is there something absurd here promoted by the gun lobby? Or is it me who can't see that more guns = lives saved? Say we increase the number of guns from 89 per 100 people, to 200 guns per 100 people ... does that mean gun deaths will decrease

Since the outrage that shocked the world, another 500 Americans have died because of absurd gun Laws. They include a boy, just 3, a church volunteer and a victim of road rage. And the solution? More guns, says the NRA. Unbelievable... read on ... After the slaughter at Sandy Hook school, America's firearms debate intensifies - Americas - World - The Independent

Ouch ... this is supposed to be a family show!

Feel free to add your own methods to deal with this stuff when encountered. Further - you might like to suggest ways to avoid getting it in the first place. But that is not always possible, and when it does happen, being prepared to deal with it can save a lot of expense and frustration ... and sometimes loss of data, loss of privacy and loss of finances from bank accounts. I mentioned I do not run an AV program. But I seriously doubt that I could have avoided this bug in this instance - I got it from a trusted site - ( I am in the process of notifying the site owners now about it, so will not name them) - so it is possible that it can happen even when a site is white-listed. I am strictly an amateur when it comes to this stuff, so will appreciate any feedback and additional suggestions. Thoughts?

After running the stuff in the previous post, I was stuck with the text-enhancer adware, and nothing I had on board would detect or remove it. I was certain I still had a bug, so googled "text highlighting adware" and it led me to this link: How To Remove Text Enhance Spam And Malware/Adware Hover Text Links | Botcrawl.com I am running Firefox, and followed the instructions to clean it. All I had to do was scroll down to "Removal Options" and follow the instructions for my browser. I found ONE file extension in my add-ons file, and disabled and removed it. Then I went to the second item on the list - "Disallow Third Party Flash Storage" When going through the options in there (see attached screen grab) I found three websites that had no idea what they were doing there - and removed them. You will see a link: Adobe - Flash Player : Settings Manager - Global Storage Settings Panel and you should click on it and The problem was solved - no more text enhancements!

In case you ever do encounter a "bug" on your computer, you should have a copy of MALWAREBYTES loaded and sitting on your desktop ready to swing into action - in "Safe Mode." It is best to have it downloaded NOW because when you do need it, your computer might be disabled and you would have to download it onto a second computer, and then use a memory stick to transfer it to your infected machine. There are other useful tools that can be used to remove unwanted adware quickly and easily. But there are worse forms, and I'll talk about these in the next post. For now, I recommend these sites for their free products. Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware download CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download Microsoft Security Essentials Download | Free Spyware Protection The third one is optional. I use it because I don't have anti-virus protection, for my own reasons. I have found it to be OK in notifying me of problems, from where I can then take steps to deal with the issues. DISCLAIMER: While I personally have not had any issues with these, you need to satisfy yourself that they will not do your computer any harm as well. I have used them for a few years now flawlessly. But Malwarebytes will not clean certain kinds of adware - or even detect it - if it hides in your flashplayer add-on list. And that takes me to the third post ...

From time to time most of us will encounter "something" annoying on our computers ... or something more sinister and potentially dangerous to your financial health. For me, I have dealt with Trojans in the past, as well as Adware and Spyware. Those pesky little pop-ups are usually benign, but these annoying unwanted advertisements, or worse - redirection hijackers - can persist. They can redirect your browser to a spam site, or they can infect your computer with a keylogger (Trojan) which sends your log-in and passwords to "someone else's" computer without your consent or knowledge. One day you discover your bank account has been cleaned out, and you go looking for the reason. At the moment I have been dealing with a text-enhancer bug, that highlights certain text keywords. In the next post I'll talk about detection and removal.

Yeah ... I forgot to include the second last line of the story ... sorry. Here it is: On seeing the little angel, Santa immediately smiled and said: "So nice to see you, little angel. Just pop the tree in the far corner for me. I will be going on my toy-delivery run shortly - so would you mind staying on top of the tree to keep an eye on things while I'm gone?" And thus began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree!

Santa’s Bad Day One particular Christmas season a long time ago, Santa was getting ready for his annual trip. But there were problems everywhere. Four of his elves got sick, and the trainee elves did not produce the toys as fast as the regular ones. So Santa was beginning to feel the pressure of being behind schedule. Then Mrs Claus told Santa that her Mom was coming to visit, and this stressed Santa even more When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth, and two had jumped the fence and were out heaven knows where. More stress. Then when he began to load up the sleigh one of the boards cracked, and the toy bag fell to the ground and scattered the toys. So, frustrated, Santa went into the house for a cup of apple cider and a shot of rum. When he went to the cupboard he discovered that the elves had hidden the liquor, and there was nothing to drink. In his frustration he accidentally dropped the cider pot, and it broke into hundreds of little pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to get the broom and found that the mice had eaten the straw end of the broom. Just then the doorbell rang, and an irritable Santa trudged to the door. he opened the door, and there was a little angel with a great Christmas tree. The angel said, very cheerfully, “Merry Christmas, Santa. Isn’t it a lovely day. I have a beautiful tree for you. Where would you like me to stick it?” And thus began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree!

The Daily Bell is on the case: The Daily Bell - Now Paul Craig Roberts Wonders About RT That article is a follow-up on another that had nothing to do with guns, but on RT programming and its alter-agenda, and false-flag reporting. Those who read the first (below) would understand the gist of the second of Anthony Wile's essays, above. The Daily Bell - Elite Neo-Nazis ... Interesting point there MM Someone posted earlier that Switzerland dropped their crime rate etc by introducing free injecting rooms etc. They tried this in Sydney for a few years, but didn't hear any changes in these kinds of stats. The jury might still be out on that. Welcome To The Sydney MSIC But I believe in Switzerland they also supply the juice? Global Initiative for Drug Policy Reform » Success

Why do you think they "announce on the radio BEFORE hand which police they are going to kill next" Patuca  Could it be anything to do with spreading F-E-A-R and maintaining their power over the law-abiding people? You know NO ONE has any power over you, unless you G-I-V-E them that power. You do that every time you value your life above freedom for your family. The radio station should be taken off the air for broadcasting that crap. It is a very simple thing, but you make it sound complicated. People know who the thugs are, but protect them out of fear for their lives - yet they are STILL just as likely to be killed as not. You scoff at me for mentioning LOVE as a way to deal with them. But you misunderstand. John 15:13 Says: Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. No one says that a man throw away his life for his friends. But there comes a time when the sacrifice of a life is all their is left to deal with these thugs, and the wise and powerful grouping of a determined body of people, united in their quest to rid the land of the scourge, can succeed through a bloody battle and a worthy sacrifice. Such things are not done in a foolhardy and egotistical suicide. Far from it. The opposite of this is what we have today - a fear-cowed society in Mexico, disorganised (divided between loyalty to evil family members they protect, and the peaceful life they desire) make the choice to live under fear. I am no expert on such things - but I had a grandfather at Gallipoli in 1915, and a father in new Guinea against the invading Japanese in 1943. A great uncle was the only prisoner captured by the Japanese on Australian soil, and was beheaded by them, after days of beatings. war crimes Do you think this would stop me also coming against an enemy if called upon. Well, I simply do not know, but I hope not. I once faced down a group of bikies with my heart pounding almost out of my chest, and they backed down (= decided to leave us alone). Another story. But I think after that, I would have a little courage. Your way = more guns. How is that working out right now? The "war" is no longer off-shore - the war is in our back yards now, and the effort required is no lesser than that needed to rid ourselves of former enemies. The way you are bleating on about needing more guns, is exactly what they want - they know there is a Mexican stand-off. You are doing what they want - spreading more fear, and giving these bullies and cowards greater status that they deserve. They are nothing but smut, yet you spread the fear of them like a religion!

What is the purpose for which you are "armed to the hilt and most everyone knows it" Smmatrix? At what point do you intend to exercise the purpose for which your "armed to the hilt" weapons were made? If you are anticipating that you might be called upon to use them against another human being, what does that make you? What does it make others who decide that they do not wish to carry? Are you aware of the "show cause" provisions, if you ever discharge a weapon, other than under legally provided conditions? What happens if you shoot too soon, at an innocent person was NOT intending to shoot you? Let's hope you miss. What happens if you fail to clear the holster in time, and all your planning goes astray, and you end up headless and all bled out? Just wondering ... and you didn't give Siuya the answer he is entitled to ... you didn't read the link about Columbine. Now that was a serious point ... showing that even when SG's are on duty in schools, that "protection" is far from effective. The perp only has to start shooting at the total opposite side of the school from the SG ... and then ...

I am right. You can always trust someone who says they are not a Buddhist. EDIT: I am coming out. Against the flow of a viral Buddhist growth spike in membership, I have to confess that I am a closet non-Buddhist. Don't ask me why .... but at a time when so many are claiming to be Buddhist, I have to say "no" .... that is not me.
-
Yes ... just people expressing their fears, that is all.

Don't panic, Vince - and have some faith in the silent majority. The minority are having their day in the sun atm, but when the brown smelly stuff hits the spinning thing, you can count on decent people to stand up. There are enough good people in the world still, to overcome evil fear with goodwill and l-o-v-e ... regardless of how uncomfortable some people are around the term "love." I care not whether people are buddhist, Christian or communist - there are good mums and Dads everywhere who just want to be able to raise their kids and earn an honest days living, feed, clothe and shelter themselves and their loved ones. These are the silent majority, who never heard of TL ... and don't get involved with trite debates. But touch their families, and they will come for you. That is what I meant in the OP: "If you believe something strongly enough, be prepared to die for it - don't be prepared to kill for it." I don't think ZDO was singling this out in his post #152, where he said: "Gun-haters -> liberal -> loving and fearless -> willing to die instead of fight –> it’s the culture’s fault -> intelligent -> compassionate -> we’ve evolved beyond weapons now ->…" - he paints with a broad brush and is not into finger pointing. But Gandhi with his civil disobedience found a way, and people like MLKing, MalX, even JFK stood their ground. Consequences ... Yes. Afraid? ... Yes. Made a difference? ... Absolutely. All of those people would have been dead in the natural order of things by today anyway - we only have one short life to give. Does it matter if we die at 46 like JFK ... ML King at 39 ... Malcolm X at 39 ... Mohandas Gandhi at 78 ... Abe Lincoln 56 ... Jesus Christ 33 ... we are still a long time dead. There is no virtue in shrinking like a violet in the face of danger or intimidation. Great things are achieved when people face down their fears. I have great faith that there are enough of us to overcome these threats, when the need presents. Don't buy that gun.

Good to see you have a sense of humour .... you are kidding ... right? I mean no one could seriously post such a sicko pic after what has happened. :thumbs down: :thumbs down: :thumbs down: There will always be gun-nuts ... until we manage to take away the guns.
-
Yep - count me in that number too. If there were no guns, those kids live!

 So ... I guess the Raptor is off the list. The judge said that certain laws exist so as "not to cause afright" meaning the meat cleaver would need to be concealed ... or left at home. Bummer. I wonder if that law covers Drones? Military Drones Prowl US Skies - Yahoo! News The kill chain: Australia's drone war - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) A Global Hawk spy drone is prepared for a night mission at an undisclosed location in the Middle East.

Absolutely spot on Tams - In Australia these automatic weapons have been illegal to own without just cause soince 2006 - 2007. We are still seeing an increase in gun violence in this country - but not with registered weapons - the crazies always seem to source their dick extensions illegally. US, Australian police bust gun supply ring - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) Politicians are cowardly anyway - they can intimidate law-abiding people into doing "the right thing" ... but against the mobs, they are gutless, useless, hopeless, and left scurrying for more laws to "fix the problem." Worth remembering for when they "come for you" ... if we mob together, they will back off! (hope hope)
-
What - no way - you aren't trying to stop me from owning and using my raptor for self-protection. Damn thang costs a fortune to maintain, an' I'm gonna use it sometime! Don't try to manipulate the constitution to mean what you want it to mean - arms are arms - there is nothing to limit what I can use in self-defence. if I want to use stun-grenades and cluster bombs and RPG's to get that rattle-snake that attacked me, then the constitution says I can. :o :o The constitution nowhere uses the terms "within reason of course" so I think you are out of order attempting to qualify the intent with your own words. What else are you interpreting for your own purposes?:rofl:
-
Please do not leave me off that list - I do not need protection ... I have decided to take Smmatrix' advice, and go for some f'ing, whopping great bit of ballistic ordnance so flaming fearsome, that even I need to be blindfolded just to take it out of is box! You will require a forklift to move the 15 rounds of ammo around! I won't attempt to describe it in masculine terms here, but if you PM me, I can put you in touch with someone who can supply the 'roids for you to be able to handle it! Natural testerone will never be enough! The instructions say you need to wear a lead-coated singlet, and your lead-coated undies need to be worn on the outside of your fatigues when firing it!
