  1. The Global Markets gives out mixed clues this morning. U.S. stocks fell after a downgrade of Greece halted an early rally and the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index failed to hold above levels monitored by traders who base investment decisions on charts. European stocks advanced for a fourth day to a one-month high as a report showed the regions industrial production increased more than forecast in April. This morning Asian stocks fell for the first time in four days after a cut to Greece’s credit rating renewed concern that Europe’s debt crisis will hinder a global economic recovery and sap demand for resources. In commodities, Crude oil traded near $75 a barrel, reversing earlier losses, on expectations for higher economic growth in the U.S., the world’s largest energy user. Gold, little changed, may advance as a Greece’s credit rating was slashed, raising concerns the global economic recovery may slow and boosting demand for the precious metal as a means of protecting wealth.
