  1. Thanks, everyone, for the replies... I have made a post over at that forum and am in conversation with one of the guys. Repairing the database didn't help. I don't think so, but ya know, I'm not 100% sure. Thanks, but it didn't help. ----- Over at the Ninja forum, the guy had me disconnect and reset my modem and computer and everything...didn't help. Now he's having me check my firewall/antivirus settings.
  2. Current look at the EJ. I'd be expecting a long opportunity any time now! (There is a similiar situation with the EU and maybe even the UJ as well.) -Cory
  3. After resetting my computer a couple times, this is the best I could get it. It's "better" for trading since the most recent price action is visible, but it's still missing about 12 hours of data from a while back...
  4. Anyone who uses or has used NinjaTrader, please check out the thread I just created... http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/f208/ninjatrader-gain-missing-data-7403.html#post86459 Thanks! EDIT: This is NOT AN ADVERTISEMENT!! I NEED HELP WITH SOMETHING!! (After re-reading my post, I thought it may have sounded like an ad. )
  5. Hi, I use NinjaTrader with the Gain data feed to monitor my spot forex charts. Periodically, I'll open the charts and the last x number of hours of data is missing. It doesn't happen very often...not even every week. However, it's still a nuisance. Plus, reloading NinjaTrader will not solve the problem...I just have to live with it. I've attached two images...the first of the Ninja chart with the missing data, then another chart showing the data that is missing. Has anyone else ever had this problem? Is there a solution? Thanks, Cory
  6. Well, I'm just about done for the day. I have to get ready and leave... Today was obviously a pretty decent day...some great anticipatable downmoves on the charts I watch. I have a question for Thales or anybody: Do you have any reservations about taking positions at the same time on different currency pairs? For example, the EJ, EU, and GU all presented short opportunities at around the same time today. Since these currencies are fairly correlated, I think there is a good chance that either you win them all or you don't in any of them. Therefore, it'd almost be like tripling up on one position. HOWEVER, I guess the counterargument to that would be an example like today...same signal on all 3...EJ easily got PT1, but is struggling to reach PT2 (still working on it, though), the EU has blasted through PT2, and the GU got nowhere. Maybe I've already answered my own question. Anyone's thoughts on the subject would still be helpful/appreciated, though. Thanks, Cory
  7. Thanks for the advice. I guess I was essentially "predicting" that that level would be the lower high. I see the logic, but I had been doing it the way I was doing it (aggressively) and I guess had gotten "lucky" with it...it served me well on a few trades. I guess I've learned something.
  8. Yeah, the reaction printed a lower high, but after price moved down off that lower high I moved my stop one tick above that high, then price came back up above that high by a few ticks and stopped me out. I guess I was being too agressive with moving my stops. If I wouldn't have moved my stop, I would not have been stopped out of that trade. EDIT: I've added a 1 min chart to illustrate what happened.
  9. Thales, how come you didn't consider the short where I did? I took a hit on this one. Sometimes I feel like I've got "it," and sometime I don't...and sometimes I feel like when I do apparently have "it" I'm just getting lucky. Oh well, moving on!
  10. I did it! I've posted the results. You can definitely see where support came into play. The final test before the launch was almost to the tick at one of the clear support levels. Cup-with-handle pattern turned out nicely...
  11. There still may be a long opportunity on the EU, yet! My other post may have been premature. However, if it breaks the low, I've marked 3 levels that I see as potential support. You could potentially short and ride it down to those levels, but I'd be apt to wait for a long opportunity at one of them. I won't be watching this in real-time (or trading it)...just thought I'd make one final post. -Cory
  12. I stepped away for a bit to get ready to go, and I came back to this on the 5 min chart. Not really going anywhere. Well, whatever, I didn't take it. I'm out of here...be back tomorrow morning. I'm going to try my hardest to get my butt out of bed early! I've been on at 9:30 AM EST the last couple days...my goal is 7:30!!! As a matter of fact...I'm not going to just try, I'm going to "do." See you at 7:30!! -Cory
  13. I'm done for the day...not trading this...but looks like a potential long opportunity on the EU... (EDIT: I watch the 15 minute, but I posted this 5 minute chart so it was easier to see the action I was seeing in real-time.) -Cory
  14. Oh, I know. I just try to avoid redundant posts.
  15. GU: Watching for a short now or maybe around the 1.6235ish level... EDIT: Sorry, didn't realize Thales had just made a post about the GU...
  16. No longer the case. I'll be back tomorrow morning! -Cory
  17. Second half was stopped at PT1...not really a great technical reason...I just hate to see trades that hit PT1 work their way toward PT2, only to come back and reduce the average ticks of the trade...it seems to happen more often than not. I'm battling with whether just to have 1 PT. I've gone back and forth. You'll notice my charts vary. I was very tempted by this. I had my order in for the longest time, but I just pulled it. I don't know if I have the patience for that. Maybe if it were earlier in the day, but I have a feeling that trade would take hours...might not even hit PT until Tokyo! I'm just going to quit now. I'm 2 for 2 today, and I'm happy. I have the night free so I'll actually probably be on for the first part of Tokyo. I may just watch, but if a nice opportunity presents itself, I might place a trade. We'll see. -Cory
  18. Maybe I shouldn't have, but I did, and I got lucky! PT1 hit. Stop moved to BE second half. EDIT: Woops, I forgot to attach the image...
  19. Stop moved. Not looking very promising. Guess maybe I shouldn't have faded that explosive upmove.
  20. Going the other way now... EU Short...
  21. Woohoo! I traded a little bit smaller size on this. All my charts were falling and I was getting long. We had printed a lower-low. I just felt like it wasn't the highest probability trade. I guess live and learn...
  22. I'm surprised you held through that run up. It was pretty impulsive relative to what price had done for the last 30 minutes. I would have been really uneasy, if not pulled out.
  23. I guess hindsight would tell I should have taken this. I was obviously watching the EJ, especially because of Thales's post, but I thought it had maybe fizzled out and wasn't looking ideal.
