  1. One can repeat the procedure with the next larger degree
  2. Hi Thales, took the example in your 3rd chart to show a useful observation about 123 ( or ABC ). This may already be known to members of this thread. One can get a projection on a minimum target for the third move: - draw a line from point 1 to point 3 - draw a parallel to this line of the same length - move the parallel so that it starts at point 2 The endpoint of the parallel is a target which - has the same distance from point 3 as point 2 has from point 1 - takes the same time to develop as the move from point 1 to point 2. When the target is taken out earlier, a further upmove may follow as seen in your example.
  3. IB charts work exactly that way. You may start a day as a clean slate.
  4. The "standard" timescale is 15 minutes.
  5. Straight into the gap, all targets hit. I'll call it a day.
  6. FDAX Short signal triggered, PT1, B/E, PT2
  7. No signal, no trade. BUND showed a breakout, FDAX just turned.
  8. There's a saying with swing traders "enter in mild times and exit in wild times"
  9. The last hour shows how important it was to close the Long trade. Otherwise one would hold (a minor loss) and wait for an uncertain outcome.
  10. This was neccessary because an anticipated HL had not been seen at that time.
  11. FDAX Long triggered, maybe with a smaller degree Resistance hit, was smaller degree.
  12. The b/e stop prevented a loss. New opportunities on either side
  13. Darvas stock mantra to follow an up trend: buy high and sell higher. Future trader's addition for a down trend: sell low and cover lower.
  14. When a box forms below a prior high and price can't make a new high, a breakout against trend is a reliable option. FDAX has a constant habit to close gaps.
  15. Very interesting to read your experience. Those developers don't ever trade. The charting program, which comes with IB TWS, also keeps the price scale fixed after the user sets it to a specific range. That program is simple, but very effective in my opinion.
  16. My version is 7.2.5 . When I type text in that SnagIt Editor, there is a second check box down in the dialog where you can turn off the shadow. That version cannot make a screenshot of itself unfortunately.
  17. Next smaller time scale. Bund fell 80 ticks within 6 minutes. This move is for computers, not for me.
  18. The next smaller time scale offered no good opportunites before 14:30. One coud only grab 3..5 ticks in small moves. I did not take the Short at 3, no idea where it could be filled. Even after the big move down, one was immediately thrown back into the small degree. This is the market, just accept it.
