My knowledge of TA's chart patterns is heavily weighted towards Robert Edwards' and John Magee's interpretation, which requires volume be factored into the analysis of price movements. Without turnover acting as a confirmation, it's my understanding that any "patterns" you might see are just pretty pictures.
