Brownie, I must say you are one of my favorites. I did not send a PM, rather went the mental telepathy route. In fact, each time the Browns drafted another loser I did a quick shot of Crown, closed my eyes, and concentrated on contacting you via the mental airwaves. I gather it did not work. Wish you could play with us, but at the same time it's nice to have you around.
-
Thales, I don't think that is the proper mindset. I hope to see you at the finish line, and would rather not ride alone.

I'll provide any info except name, address, and account number. I clear through RCG, and have my statement emailed to me daily at around midnight EST. I addition, I would have no problem allowing Thales access to my account to verify once I am out. Finally, I will try to post most trades once I enter, and identify my exit area. The info posted in the am will match my calls. When I attempted this on ET I was using a different system and could call my entry minutes in advance, not the case with my current system. I will be trading currency futures, and pretty much all of them. Usually in the game around 3:00am, and out by noon unless there is a Fed announcement in the afternoon. This is a friendly event, which is why I am greatly interested. I didn't start the one last week because I was afraid it would appear like a "look at me" type of thread, which was not the purpose. Moving along this journey with Thales and hopefully others takes that out of consideration. The ultimate goal is to teach a few people my approach to money management. I am not saying it is the best, but it works, and would greatly help those with management issues. Yes, in the ET version my language was sometimes in the gutter. Didn't start out that way, but the people at ET had a way of bringing out the worst in me. I am happy top be a member of TL, and I will be ever mindfull of the standards set forth by previous and current members of this community. Finally, Thales, tell me when you are firing the starting gun. Don't want to be late.

Sounds good to me. Must say that I like the direction you took with everything. Nice work. My oldest daughter is nine, and she has been working a demo account with moderate success. She really doesn't have a concept of how much money she is actually winning or losing, which will probably be to her benefit when she goes live. Looking forward to the new thread.

If any here visits the site across the street with the inporportionate number of blowhards, please invite them. My posting abilities there have been nixed, as well as my interest in the site. Thanks in advance. PS: I have been trying to contact Brownsfan but to no reponse, if anyone knows his number please contact him as I know he would want to participate.

Looks good to me. Would be nice to get a few more traders to the mix. I would propose if someone does reach the mil mark, the he/she donates 50K to TL for a TL bash in Vegas. Hopefully some of the sponsers here will contribute, and everyone here could have a fun few days and possibly learn a thing or two along the way. Would also say that that those participating in this, no matter how early their exit, would have more applied to their bill. If TL and/or its sponsers opt not to participate, than the winner can use the 50k to plan the party as he/she sees fit. Let's race.

As one final note for the evening, I have done this 4 out of ten times. That being reaching the mil in my time frame. All but one have been done at gambling forums. Those threads from across the street I count as one since my posting ability had been taken away due to language that was in the gutter. This is a more refined audience, so I will try to mainain a suitable composure. I could enhance the new members to this site by announcing this event to my gambling forums, but in all honesty, the language and imagination they would provide would drastically change this site. Maybe later on.

Had one other thought. I believe what should be counted is "cashed out" funds not necessarily seeing the total mil in the account at the end, though that's fine too. The cash out should be called days in advance. Not a big deal either way, but might suit more money management styles. Also, I don't care about the time, think more people would enjoy just seeing it being acomplished no matter how long it takes.

I'll be out on Monday as well, so if no other traders then we can start Tuesday.
-
Count me in. I have a few "sandbox" accounts as well, think one has about 1k in it, so on that end i am ready to go. My only requirement is that since i have a $900 margin on the Euro and Yen, I reserve the right to post up more cash if I go below margin out of the shoot. Actually, I just checked and I have $941 in the account that I'll be using, so that's what I'll start with, which means if I start on a bad streak I could post up to 3k-941= $2059, but no more. Should be fun, see you at the finish.

Ha. Decided not to do it this week. Too bad though, was a better than average week.

Does Anyone Truly Make a Living Solely Trading the E-minis???

Nevermind, couldn't get the video to work. -
By the way, if had 1k and started your system, how soon would I make $1,000,000? Serious question.

I am here for entertainment, and I am hoping for a bit in your thread. Not looking to sell something, hell, I have a bunch of people on a twitter account from a recent go around that I haven't said one thing, ever. Maybe someday, but at this point I don't want to be responsible for other people losing money. No different than gambling, if I give out the Lakers and they lose, I feel like shit for the people who tailed, eventhough I may be up for the week or month. As I said, I never want another customer again. Information for free though, and helping others to learn is a different story.
-
Well, I hope that you sell your 50 mil units, I really do. I haven't researched what systems sell for, and how many units they sell a month. I know when I did my last journal on a forum people said that I could make 50k a month selling my trades. Don't know if that was accuracte or not, but wasn't anything to get me too excited and never looked into it. I had a business, I've been on top of the mountain and the the bottom of the ditch. Hope to live the rest of my life without ever having to have a customer again. I wish you well, but not the route I would take.

Does Anyone Truly Make a Living Solely Trading the E-minis???
sicktrader replied to ktartarotti's topic in E-mini Futures
The past few years my primary source of income is from trading. What many don't realize is you can't make a living at this if you don't know when to cash out. I cash out when I double my balance, evey week or two, without second guessing. Money management is the key to this, which few ever realize. -
Perhaps you are legit, but this is the statement that has me worried. When one says "developing systems", that implies that this is not your first go around and you already has his own personal ATM. Secondly, if this is true and you already have your own personal ATM, why would you bother with pain in the ass customers? Third, why would you want our input? And what, you might sell 50 units in a year for a profit that you would make in a few weeks of trading, not worth the problem in my opinion. I sold a system once but it was for a gambling exchange, World Sports Exchange to be exact. They were one of the first into the online gambling. I only sold the system when the UIGA took place and basically made it difficult to transfer money into and out of offshore accounts. It started to take months to get paid, so while the system was profitable, it didn't matter if you weren't sure when you would get paid. Sold a few copies, then realized it wasn't worth my time. Good luck, can't wait to hear some testimonials.

Thanks. Not a big deal but I just looked at my margins and I have $900 for the Euro and Yen, so I'll start with somewhere around $1,250 to sustain a loser or two. I will post up more cash if needed in the event that I start off with three losers in a row, but it won't delay the goal.

There seem to be a number of helpful people on this forum, something you don't see everywhere. To make a long story short, I decided to start a journal here at TL, though I probably won't enter a trade until sometime early Tuesday morning. I am sure that some have known my methods from across the street, others have not. This will be an eye opener on money management for many. For, me, it will give me something to do in the middle of the night while I am trading. I will turn $1,000 into $1,000,000 in 20 weeks. Actually I should get it done in 10-15 weeks, but I'll give myself some extra time. I believe that across the street I used the S&P, here I will do currencies. Nonetheless I hope to show that it is not the system that brings profits, but money management. I have done this many times in real life, a few times on trading and gambling forums. I do not reach my goal within the time frame every time, but certainly the majority of times. I will not give away my exact system, but the system is not really the point. Many of you have systems that are more profitable that this one, which should help you in the long run. I hope this journal will be helpful, and if not, then it should certainly be entertaining. I will trade the currencies based on news events, and will trade most currencies. Unfortunately most of my trades will be between 8:00 pm and 10:00 am EST. All trades will be called live. Let's have fun.

There are a few (just a few) gambling touts with winning systems that sell their picks because in the gambling arena there is a limit on how much cash/credit one person can obtain. In addition, if you constantly beat the book, then you ultimately get shut off and have to resort to using beards. Quite the pain in the ass. There are no such limits in trading, and you can get down as much on a trade as you want. If it has been a successful system, then you should not have a cash issue. I call bullshit, though I am hoping this thread will provide some entertainment.

Does Anyone Truly Make a Living Solely Trading the E-minis???
sicktrader replied to ktartarotti's topic in E-mini Futures
You can put me in the category that feel the SIM is irrelevant. In my mind developing the system is the easiest part of the process, hell, I have a dozen of them and I'm sure most of you do too. The execution day after day and time after time is the most difficult. And also, forget starting on the micro, you can easily be up in points and down in cash since you make about a buck a point and 4 in juice. That's not the way the big ones work. Learn on the mini. This isn't as difficult as you would think. -

I have been trading for quite a few years, but only the past two years as my sole income. I gamble a lot, well I used to gamble a lot in regards to sports, horses, and anything else where I thought I had an edge. I would be in Vegas at least one week a month. While I did profit quite a bit there wasn't ever any pressure on me because of my real job. Well, the home building went to bust, and I had enough cash and I was profitable at trading so I figured that is what I will do to continue to provide for my family. It is different when everything is on the line, no doubt. I have been there before and so have many of you. My first advice is If you have a system theat works, you need to stick to it. Secondly, and most importantly if this is your living, YOU NEED TO CASH OUT. Whatever works for you is fine, I cash out when I double my bankroll. Money in a trading account is not the same as money in a bank account. This, in my mind, is the most important rule in trading for a living. -
I opened up their demo once, still only trade currency futures, but this is as good of an excuse as any to go to Vegas.
-
Yep, that is all I go for anymore and futures have worked fine. I only open the forex demo once, then I realized why the hell should I switch if it is working. Anyway, I am off to Florida with the family later today, need to unwind from the IRS continually shoving it up my ass. Have fun while I'm gone.

You won't make it if you are always tailing. You need to implement your own ideas instead of buying and selling with everyone else. His system is complete garbage, put the 2k into a micro account and start learning on your own.
