Hey walter, How have you been doing my friend? My girls are also 11 .But anyway, I have at one point started looking into futures as another option ,but my understanding is around $25,000 would be a minimum as far as account size. But that is just my understanding from reading a little on it here.

Pyenner, yea I was doing really good till this second drawdown, and its like it hit me all at once WHAT IF !!! You know what if this system isnt as good as i thought it was. Im just sitting here doing nothing,when i could be at least be trying something else! But then i try and look at the other side. How many people has blown their accounts in the last 3 months trading forex,and only wish they were up 10% on their account. I must be doing something right!

I was setting here going over my live trades and just for the heck of it i went over some of my backtesting just to see how it would have performed over a month to month basis.(minus slippage and commission). And here was my results for april of 06 to january 07. Month , Pips, Wins/Loses , % Wins, %Equity April , 63 , 6/18 , 33% , 0 May , 882 , 13/20 , 65% , 38% June, -25 , 6/19 , 31% , -2% July , 66 , 7/17 , 41% , 8% August, 329 , 9/16 , 56% , 22% Sept , -46 , 3/13 , 23%, -8% Oct , 114 , 6/17 , 35% , 3% Nov, 36 , 6/15 , 40% , 6% Dec , -5 , 5/15 , 33% , 0 Jan , 436 , 9/16 , 56% , 22% Just to have for reference this is my live results. Month, Pips, Wins/Loses, % Wins, %Equity March , 144 , 4/7 , 57%, 10% (in hindsite looking back 11winners for that month) Started live on March 21 April , 137 , 8/19 , 42% , 10% May , -133 , 5/17 , 29% , -4% June , 2 , 1/5 , 20% , -4% (still have 2 weeks left) This is harder than i thought it would be,you wouldnt believe how hard it is placing a order and done for the day!! (and im being dead serious) Recently i have slipped and started researching other systems, But i need to stop at least till testing is done. Or at least focus on making this one better.

This morning i was in such a rush i forgot to post that there was no trade for friday.

Not alot of trades last week, but overall it was positive! Total Pips- +150 Equity- +10.04% Win%- 37.50%

1)Walter i struggled with this for a long time, I even started a thread about (sharing your system) and tried to get some opinions. Since my system is so specific about entry,stops,and take profit and could be easily automated I decided against it at the time but who knows i may reveal it in the future(Its so simple people would laugh) 2)Would love to!!!

Walter,alot of wisdom in your post, Its something that has been sticking in my head. As you may or may not know, I have been keeping a journal on a system that i came up with.For me it was the sweet point that you was talking about. It was something that i felt very comfortable with win or lose. At one point I was up over 20%,but the last month hadnt been very kind.As of now im still up a little. So as the drawdowns started to occur my confidence started to dwindle little by little,although i still continued to trade my system. Then you invited me to this thread, while interacting and learning your system i have learned so much but since my eyes arnt as keen as yours as finding the pattern(in real time),i tryed my best to make it as mechanical as possible and putting many hours into it. But could not find the right approach for my style. Although i will still be here learning and posting in this great thread i must get back to my system and put most of my focus there. You are truly a class act and i have much respect for you. Don

Wasnt able to trade today,and will miss tomorrow (working some overtime at current job) but will be ready for next week. Glad to hear you had a great day!!!

Yea, I believe a strict set of rules is a must (for me anyway) without rules you will always be searching. No two traders see the same. Consistancy is the key. I always try to focus long term (But sometimes that can be very difficult) I believe i hold most of the answers to my success but just havent put it all together yet. But then again how many times have i thought i was right before:confused:
