Regarding 1) Right click the line, go to Properties and switch Auto-Zoom off Don't forget to hook Save as Default for the future. Regarding 2) Go to Expand Properties of Chart - Current Profile. Change Time Interval from Auto to 30 or any other number you like.

Look at this junk. 128K vs 364K. That is 35% of total volume :helloooo:

Why Does Support Turn into Resistance and Vice Versa?
garak replied to AgeKay's topic in Technical Analysis
Both is true in my experience. a) is a common technical explanation that derives from the traders' psychology caught on the wrong foot whereas b) is a self-fulfilling prophecy other traders use to get into the market. The whole phenomenon is akin to value area trading where you look at historical bid/ask volumes and take em as S/R. -
All they will tell you is "we are working on it". At least they are aware of this issue

Thanksgiving? What timezone do you people live in celebrating Thanksgiving today?
-
Would you say this is possible with OEC, too?
-
You can choose between Bid/Ask, Delta, Volume, Bid/Ask Strike - graphically all very akin to your first link. This is not my trading PC otherwise I'd have made a screenshot. As I said: Try their Demo and have a look.

I use their MarketDelta plugin but don't know the standalone version. You must be aware that Footprints takes OEC' datafeed. Which is a big disadvantage in my opinion. But you can try it out for free with their Demo version.

They offer MarketDelta as a third party software and it uses the OEC datafeed.

Volume is an issue in general. Just compare total volume shown in the DOM and what is shown in the Quote window. You will find a difference of 10 to 30%. This is because of their datafeed that filters "some" ticks.

I have muesli for breakfast when the market is in pre-trading mode. Though I try not to eat something later on because I need to keep my hands free. When I get bored I generally listen to music and play drums with my fingers/feet. This doesn't distract me too much but lets me survive quiet times :groove:

Customizing Your DOM - Showing or Hiding Your P/L
garak replied to brownsfan019's topic in Open E Cry
The first I did was getting rid of market buy and sell order buttons and hide the scale in/out buttons for I don't need them and one gets a cleaner DOM to work with. Though I set up shortcuts for cancel and exit commands to get out of any position quickly. Regarding the P/L Show Mode - it is nothing I could do well with since I want to know my excact position and paper profit/loss anytime. When trading I'm always monitoring DOM to get insights into orderflow etc. so there is no advantage to hide P/L for me. -
No issues last tuesday? This has nothing to with Eurex. ES was down as well though I didn t check T-Notes.

Brownsfan, since you trade with OEC, can you say sth. about http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/92/oec-6880-3.html#post79039 ? How do you deal with OEC' datafeed issues?
-
I ve been with OEC for about 2 years now, trading mostly Eurex futs. And all I can say is: Yes, the integrated platform is awesome, the execution speed as well. But what really sucks is their unreliable datafeed. I can still remember the awesome unfiltered datafeed before OEC was bought by OptionsXpress and afterwards it deteriorated so badly Volume in the DOM misses out about 20% of total volume. At least this is my experience for Fgbl and Fesx - I could live with that. But what is totally unacceptable are their notorious disconnects and data freezes. And I am a bit astonished nobody here complains about it. ps. didn t intend my first post to be a critical one :hmmmm:
