S Sprint... I'd be looking for a short on this one. The big ol' doji caught my eye from today's price action along with how close it is to resistance. I noted a few other hammers/doji's that appeared in the past and provided reasonable moves.

MBI This was a $65 stock before the 2008 collapse. They have some lawsuits going on right now which worry me but based on pure chart reading. There seems to be a low risk entry entry point at support in expectation of a reversal to the upside.

Quick update on RAIL. I actually bought this one at support when I posted the chart. I don't buy stock very often right now since I am focusing most of my time on SIM trading futures. I'm up 4.3% right now so I am happy thus far.

OCNF (freightliner transport) I am pretty leary about this one. I have made money several times on it before based on trading from support which is why I still watch it but the bankruptcy risk on this is ever present like most of the big ocean transporters. I am a little worried to hold this overnight.
-
GVA (granite construction) This isn't as volatile as most of the stocks I try to trade. I wouldn't feel too bad going long on this once that 32 short term R is broken.

Quick update on DNN (Uranium miner). Nice little hammer at support. Most of this recent move down has been on lighter volume. I got interested in this stock a while back because uranium prices appeared over extended to the downside especially in light of the the green energy movement which will likely involve nulear power to a large degree. I might buy some of this tomorrow depending on morning price action.

It was going to be a great day but all my charts and DOM froze for 20 minutes or so after I got in a trade. I had several more freezes and charting issues. OEC has a hard time keeping the DEMO version quality up to the live version but I am not sure why. I won't post my P/L since it doesn't reflect what would have happened on a live account. I had a good ZN trade and my first good mini russel trade. On oil, I missed a great setup up right after inventory came out. Then came the landslide and oil went into a price area where I didn't have any S/R levels noted because am I still sorting out historical PA that I can go through. I'll get that sorted out soon. I really wish I had a nice 3 monitor setup for each contract I am watching. Sometimes I switch over from oil to the russel and barely have time to react to the obvious setup its in. All in good time.

Bond Futures, Not Sexy but Worth a Look!
Dinerotrader replied to brownsfan019's topic in The Candlestick Corner
We are near a pretty reactive S/R level coming into the 10 year auction today. I haven't yet sunk my teeth into the ZN so I am hoping to watch it at 1:00 ET to see what happens. -
Quick gap fill to start the morning off.

Has anyone here attended any trading expo's? If you have attended, was it useful, fun, educational? Just wondering if it is worth putting on the calendar to go to next year.

Oil was a pain in the neck today. I have never really got a good feel for the RLM but the ZS has been so slow and choppy that I am working on acquiring the feel for the RLM. We'll see if I can find it. SIM

I am having the same problem. I have been expecting that huge reversal upward and not getting it. It will come in time whether today or the next few days. I think price is too discounted to stay this low but that is just my intuition. Not sure if the volume split is also causing a problem or not, just an observation.

That seems like a lot of hammers at support. We'll see what happens.

You've exposed my inexperience. How does the Soybeans pit relate to the non-pit contract? I haven't gotten around to learning the differences.
-
AGO Price just arrived back at a significant level after a very short lived increase to its 2008 highs. We'll se how it reacts to that level this time.
-
NCS I was scanning the Russel 2000 and found this interesting chart. I will be putting this on my watch list.
-
Your are the man, James. Thanks for sharing.
-
Thanks frank. I don't trade the ES but I appreciate the offer. I am mostly looking at Oil (CL), Soybeans (ZS), and Russel (TF or RLM-OEC).
-
Nice work yet again in the "late" market. Did you add some contracts to your position?
-
Here is another I am watching at what appears to be significant support. It had a quick peak below it in September.
-
Bad day for P/L. Some good learning trades. Hopefully, I'll have better focused time for trading tomorrow. SIM
-
I'll look into this. Hopefully, there is someone out there that already went through this challenge and found a good solution. We'll see what I can turn up.
-
It is a 100 tick chart.
-
I use OEC so getting price history is hard and sometimes impossible for longer time periods. Does anyone know of the cheapest way to get continuous contract charts spanning multiple years. Probably the longest I would be looking back would be 10 years. Cheap, long term charts.

RAIL Quick fundamental info. It is a railroad. Warren Buffet just bought a railroad recently citing that as the economy grows so will the transport business (not that everything he does is the right thing). This railroad and also the one he bought and both transport a lot of coal. The support level was holding well and I liked the fundamentals for a long term hold. Stop loss would be below the support line. I bought this one with real IRA money.
