  1. IMO, the convenience of one broker for both isn't worth it in this case. I just closed my forex account at OEC because the spreads were ridiculous. Follow the link Here to a thread which discusses spot forex trading extensively. Look at Thalestraders' posts. There are several times throughout the thread that brokers are discussed. That is the advice I would want if I was getting into spot forex without having read that thread. Note: I just linked the thread to a recent post about brokers. Threre are many, many more good posts in that thread in the past.
  2. JOYG I started looking through the IBD list here is one that I might be a little late on for an entry. It just touched short term support and trendline support and might be on its way up with the trend.
  3. What does this mean for your trading periods?
  4. F At the top of a well established channel.
  5. This brings up a few questions for me. What statistics about your track record are most important in determining your own future success? I was thinking that "I would love to have that track record" and then I thought "but only if the risk and drawdown amounts were exceptable for me". Before I started my submersion in trading I would have just cared most about the end P/L results but you come to find out that only certain results are sustainable for your own personality and risk tolerance. Thanks for being so open with your 2009 results BF. You don't see that much in the individual trading world.
  6. CENX Reversal or breakout. Not sure which way to go here. I'm leaning towards breakout.
  7. KTII Here is where I would like a breakout to play. We'll see what we get.
  8. Penny stock parade! Okay I guess I do like the looks of quite a few cheapies but I haven't posted anything that was cheaper than a $1. Interesting that you chose SRLS. I actually did some tax strategy work for them 3 years ago. I'll keep an eye on this one. Thanks for the chart. I agree, market direction is pretty hazy right now which is why I am mostly in cash looking for interesting setups. I'll try to get some more large cap stocks in the mix. Feel free to throw some in also.
  9. GME Reasonable upside potential for the risk. Stop at ~$20.5
  10. MCO I like this one to watch. It appears momentum might be turning to the upside.
  11. ARP I am almost positive I will buying this one on Monday. Great bounce off support, nice big hammer candle at support a few days ago and I like the fundamentals. I'll definitely have a stop in in case it starts to break below support.
  12. I don't day trade stocks anymore because I am focused on futures also but I still have some money in IRA, ROTH, and such that needs some management and once the futures I watch die down in the afternoon, I like to relax with some daily stock chart scanning. It also gives me something to talk about with other people that invest but don't know anything about futures. Most people can discuss stocks. Hopefully, this thread will lead me to a trading strategy for my longer term position stock trades.
  13. If I am correct, there is no DOM for forex at OEC so to enter a bracket order you have to use the OSO entry screen. I think I have only done it once in the past so I am not a great person to walk you through it. BF let me know if I am wrong on this.
  14. I decided to pull the trigger on OCNF and buy in at 1.02 with a stop loss at 0.97. I liked that its support is near the $1 level which gives it a little more umph to keep price above $1 just because of the average investor psychology.
  15. That would be great. The way you sell most traders on your service is through the Demo so I do hope they get it working consistently. If OEC can get their demo service reliable, begin their access to equities trading and provide a way for me to pay for lots of historical data to plug into my charts (still need to call them about the esignal plugin) I will be a very happy customer. Thanks for looking into this for us BF.
  16. There are obviously more futures than the ES and NQ so I am assuming you must have looked at others and decided they didn't meet some criteria you have. Just curious what criteria use which have disqualified all the futures Brownsfan suggested above.
  17. I was up $350 on CL and then everything froze for a while so I won't post my P/L again today. I was going to try to get in that corn trade I posted about on the grains thread but I was frozen at the time so I missed that one too.
  18. The phenomenon of prices to follow a trendline is sometimes amazing.
  19. A nice load up on that one and you are done for the year.
  20. Might be a morning to trade corn. We'll see how price reacts to the support level this time.
  21. Stocks can be fun but for intraday trades I find selecting which stocks to make trades on very distracting when all I want to focus on is reading price action and finding great entry points. Futures help me to just focus on that and it has really helped my analytical skills and PA awareness. Thales is great at stock selection and gave me a lot of help but I am still learning. So far I really like futures and most days it feels like I am getting better at it.
  22. I totally agree with this. You have to be picky about which trades to take and this might not provide the best R:R compared to some other opportunities. I scan through a lot of stocks so the ones I post hear I have only looked at for 40-60 seconds to note S/R, consider candles, trendlines, and price action. When my sons aren't so young I will be teaching them to do this type of scanning for me so I can just consider the cream of the crop for possible trades.
  23. I assume you are referring to the TLAB chart. 6 was definitely a level and I should have marked it. In my opinion it didn't provide a great trading entry setup because it just chopped around that level but the level it is at right now is showing some great tight action just above showing me that it is significant right now in investor's eyes. In June when it had this same tight action it ended up reversing. I can see both a long and a short with tight stops providing some good risk reward trades.
  24. Yea. I have been following your advice on this and everytime it freezes, I send a ticket. They often have trouble with their tick charts on DEMO. Sometimes I can get a time chart but no tick chart. If I can get historical data from esignal and a more reliable feed it might make sense to pay esignal some money.
  25. TLAB I could see shorting a breakout through support or buying a reversal here. We are in a down trend but price doesn't seem to want to let in to that longer term level.
