1. While trying to pinch pennies so you have more capital to trade with, expecting to outfit your new business for free is ridiculous. As with any business, you have to spend money to make money.
2. So far I think wherever Google has entered, they've created the best (or one of) applications/services in that area. It forces the competition to up their game and if they can't, the best product will win out. If I was a big corporation and heard that Google was going to enter my industry, I would be scared and be pulling off whatever I could to keep my market share. And if I was an insider, I might start dumping my shares.
3. You mean how Thales has done right here?
4. 11-20-09: $0.00 Some days you wonder why you got out of bed for this. Keeping losses small / scratch is an important part of the overall game planning for me, so while seems like a waste in hindsight it's part of the job and to be expected. My goal on winning days is to make $500-$1000/ct and losing days I would like to keep below $250. In my eyes, this was a losing day simply b/c it wasn't a winning one. What stung the worst was oil - I went 1/4 there. I know when I go 1/4 that I'll be trying to scratch that market, which is what happened there. The good news is that 1 winner can wipe out 3 losers. The bad news is that I had 3 losers so I did not make any money there today. And the ZS today just didn't want to give it to me. Nothing to change there. Have a good weekend everyone. OSU vs. Michigan on Sat although shouldn't be much of a game.
5. Sorry - yep, GGC is gold in OEC's charts.
6. I'll do my best... Today was a good example where I rolled to the GCLF0 contract b/c it was trading more volume. And today was the first day I traded the F0 contract. Maybe you can use that to piece together how this contract works and what to be looking at for back testing.
7. Dinero - the GCLF0 contract has more volume so make sure you roll to the new contract soon. Get in this habit now b/c the last thing you want is a big surprise when it's real money on the line.
8. I can login to their site fine. Not sure about charts as those are shut down for the day.
9. Here's my spin on that chart - I think this is similar to what Don is doing as well. Again, I'm not trading this method but for me, I would prefer to enter on the HL and anticipate the break vs. entering above it. That's just me and my reversal style of thinking.
10. I asked them to implement that before but I don't think it has. Send them a support ticket and I will do the same. Maybe a few of these will get it on their list again. I agree 100%, your p/l should be able to reflect gross AND net.
11. I just pay esurance - http://www.esurance.com It appears it is from them too, I don't see any other company names on my documents. I am going to shop around still but good news is that I can remain here if the rates are good.
12. I can't believe it - after emailing esurance customer service and 5 days later, somehow they re-rated me w/o the accident. My renewal is actually cheaper than last year's renewal. Looks like I am staying put assuming the bill reflects this properly. I had given up hope w/ them but thought I would send an email and see. After receiving the standard 'sorry, we can't do anything' and being persistent the rep did some 'research' and it's been lifted from my record with them. I'm still going to shop around to see but last time I did this no company could come close to esurance. I know it's nice to have an agent you can call but I rarely use this stuff, so email/online is fine for me. Actually, I prefer it.
13. 11-19-09: +$530.00 This is one of those days that should have looked like Monday but I screwed a few things up.
14. I'm guessing that Tams was just a little early on his wishes.
15. Not a problem Don. I have been busy here and haven't done much w/ this. I think I'm attempting to do the same thing you are doing on the 15 min charts but w/ daily charts for swing trades.
16. 11-18-09: +$372.50 An ok day. Missed a nice russell trade and the ZS also stinged me. I was short into a nice move down but got shaken out.
17. I don't trade via the methods described here, but after seeing many charts posted, if I was to head in this direction I like what don and deadalus have posted. Take it for what it's worth but I see a few attractions of each: Don - entering on the LH or HL candle, which gives an attractive entry point. The same idea I was doing on the daily chart thread that I haven't been able to get to recently. Dae - using what I would consider daytrading charts. For me the 15 min is not a daytrading chart. This is a unique thread where you have at least 3 styles trading the same premise but w/ very different entry rules.
18. I see what you mean TOG. This week I started into the max workouts and wow... these are difficult to say the least.
19. I am speaking from experience.
20. BR - they all have the reasons for moving but I really enjoy Oil and Soybeans. If you want quick and decisive moves, you should take a peak.
21. ZB tick value is now $31.25. As soon as that change happened, I moved to the ZN and ZF to trade. That's a bit too rich for my blood.
22. 11-17-09: -$77.50 A whole bunch of work for that. Some days you got it, other days you don't. A few trades could have been managed better, but tomorrow is a new day. Also - once again, I think I am divorcing the 6E. We seem to have a love/hate relationship and lately it's been a lot of hate. So we are done till I get the itch again. Per a request, I'm going to try to remember to color code my days green = up, red = down. Apparently the - sign is hard to read for some.
23. If you want an idea of how to use this in your trading (entry and/or exit), daedalus describes it well in this post. Personally I am testing out on timing my exits better. Here's what I showed in a p/l post: Here I was long into a swift move up grabbing a bunch of stops along the way which then pushed the VC into the +8 extreme. After that was penetrated I then watched the following prints and if a HH was not made, I flattened which I did in this example. Had a HH printed then I would have repeated the process.
24. You know what is interesting dinero? You are showing some nice results w/o touching the ES. At one time around here that was the standard. If you didn't trade the ES, you weren't a trader. Amazing how you can make some very nice profits (and some days easy profits) w/o even touching that bot crazy market.
