Too much info and you will suffer from paralysis by analysis. Kiwi nailed it on the head - only use what you KNOW has tested well and should produce a reasonable result with consistency. To just overload your brain with info for the sake of it is a waste of time and will be detrimental. If you want to start trading one of the worst contracts in the world, then you should focus exclusively on that since it seems as if you don't really have a trading plan just yet. You are planning to dive right into the deep end with the biggest players and they are waiting for you and your money any day now. Finding a reliable edge in the ES will be difficult enough that to overload your brain with info from 10+ other markets will just make this an even harder task.

I'll mention to OEC that the remove is now in an inconvenient location for some here.

'Global Debt is a Holocaust Waiting to Happen.’
brownsfan019 replied to Ed Goldstein's topic in Market News & Analysis
You have to wonder if... 1) Is the entire planet close to entering an 'ut oh' credit crisis or 2) Is the media just doing their job and creating concern out of nothing Since we've never had a global 'redo' I would lean towards #2, although a global start over would be interesting to live through, esp as a trader.- 15 replies

And that is the very premise behind the p/l threads as well, just w/o any race structure behind it.

I would guess that the forums would be lighting up with complaints since many use Ninja if this was common. Sounds like a specific thing to your situation. I would contact Ninja directly.

Just playin! If you want reliable, real-time data then you need to find a broker or charting/data solution that offers this. Relying on the free yahoo stuff is fine when it works but not so great when it does not. And since you aren't paying for it, there's not much you can say. Find a better solution. It may or may not cost you money.

You're trading on something you never even tested? Good luck.

If you don't know what happened, then you must be living in cave w/o internet access. Just pull up a chart and take a look.

Problem probably results from using a pirated windows 8 b/c that's about the only way to get the next version of windows.

-83 pts at one point? 83 ES pts? If it is real, then you got some serious confidence to hang on like that. Probably easier to just post your blotter/statement so we can see how that trade looked.

Quotes from 100% Automated Independent Retail Trader
brownsfan019 replied to AgeKay's topic in Automated Trading
Well said BF. My main point was that it's 1 person's opinion on how to be a trader. It does not by any stretch mean that if you don't trade for 2 pennies like him that you are going to fail. Personally, I am with Thales and 2 pennies won't cut it. So in the HFT world, maybe what he's doing makes a lot of sense; but to say that it's your way or the highway is completely inaccurate. -
I believe a mod has to ok the post when you are brand new. Be patient.

Really? I am in Cleveland, so that's neat! Tell him to PM me here sometime! Not often you find a local trader, esp here. -

Quotes from 100% Automated Independent Retail Trader
brownsfan019 replied to AgeKay's topic in Automated Trading
I did read it. And like I said, we have no idea if what he's saying actually makes real money. I also read that he lives in a tiny apartment and drives a Nissan. I understand that some don't want to spend money on everything, but if you are pulling in what he says he is, you can't get yourself a decent home with a decent car? Anything that is presented on forums (esp about trading) doesn't mean squat to me at this point. People love to talk a good game, but very few ever show any evidence of being able to do it when it counts. Interesting casual read, so thanks for sharing. To take this as the end-all to TA is a little extreme. -
Are you not man enough to call the person out that you think is doing this? Go ahead, let us know who you think was deleting your posts. No need to act like a little child, act like a man and say who you think deleted your posts. Then head to the support area and file a complaint. You are one funny, very disturbed person tresor.

1) It's one person's opinion on trading 2) We have no idea if anything of what he says actually produces live profits 3) There are many, many ways to make money in this business (and plenty of ways to lose as well) Interesting read? Sure. Prove that he's a pro and that we all should be quivering at this interview b/c clearly it's superior information? Not quite. One thing I've learned on my time trading and cruising the forums out there is that there are zero absolutes in trading and what can or can't make money. What you view as no good, others can view as gold. As for retail traders not listening, I think the new traders and struggling traders do nothing BUT listen to ANYTHING and EVERYTHING and that is their very downfall. Personally I've been doing this long enough that I could care less what some guy on a forum is saying and know better than to treat that as gold or anything new. In the end we are all taking the exact same information and processing it in some fashion. That's it. How you process that is your decision. -
There's a few ways to view an objective that is very unlikely to be reached vs setting an aggressive (but realistic) goal. I am a very goal oriented person and for me, this current contest design does not work. I cannot sit at my computer w/ a small account and say the goal is to take it to $1M in 20 weeks. My brain interprets that as an exercise that will only frustrate me b/c the likelihood of achieving the goal is small. That's my

Has TL Been Sold or Just New Admin?
brownsfan019 replied to brownsfan019's topic in Announcements and Support
Thanks for all you've done James! Been a fun and crazy run we had under your leadership. Will we get an official introduction from the new site owners and some background info? I personally would like to know who will be behind the site now and what their plans are going forward. Thanks! -
Has TL Been Sold or Just New Admin?
brownsfan019 replied to brownsfan019's topic in Announcements and Support
Since James put TL up for sale, I think he hasn't been around as much. So when you say 'TL' it's really just James. Any updates that I've seen were posted here but I do not see them anymore. -
Sorry if I missed any updates on this, but in this post it appears we have a new admin around. Any updates that can be shared?
-
1) Do you plan to average any more at this point? 2) Where is your 'I give up' price?
-
No idea what that is supposed to mean. As I said, my charts are fine here.
-
As of Mon morning, my momentum charts are perfect. Not sure what the issue you guys are having, but the momentum bars look great here.

Live sharing is the preferred method vs static. Also need voice as well. You are correct - Skype now has the screen share just part of the package, which is great. Will be using Skype as it has everything I need (and then some).
